I do plan to do an updated version soon. The problem is that the proper statistics are hard to find here in BC, and PRince George specifically, so its a lot of leg work to try and make them as accurate as possible by cross referencing and finding various sources, etc. As an easy statistic to keep in mind, is that for cost of living, Prince George is still around 48-52% more affordable than basically any larger city south of Kamloops. Thank you for this info. Have yougot a video about the cost of living for families? I will be an international student with two kids and a nice going there. Or should I multiply this costs per person?
I wouldnt multiple those costs "per person" simply because many of the costs remain the same wether there are 1 or 4 people, such as your home, vehicle, etc.
Housing prices in Prince George are over inflated for what you get and prices just keep going up. I feel bad for people trying to get started in the market it’s getting absolutely ridiculous
Terming them inflated is not accurate when you realize it's simple supply and demand. Supply is very short at the moment and buyer demand is at an all time high, which is what is causing any home that's even close to market value to be sold with multiple offers, thus causing the general price increases. And until either supply increases by double, or demand halves, it will continue.

Hi Mr. K, thanks for watching and commenting! To be honest, that's not a statistic I keep on top of, so I'll do my best to share what I do know! Given that a lot of tech jobs are by nature able to be done remotely and adding to the fact that the last 2.5 years many companies had to switch to remote work if they weren't already doing so, leads me to believe that the opportunity to hold a great tech job, from a city where the cost of living is still about 56% more affordable than any other large cities in BC, could be a very appealing one to many people in the tech sector. Add to the fact how much incredible nature we have all around us, it's no wonder my friend who recently landed a job with Google has decided to stay here, rather than relocate to their headquarters. I hope that helps! Don't forget to subscribe if you haven't already, I truly appreciate you giving me your attention for the time that you did 🤟🏼🙏

Oh nice! I have a team member that lives in Reno, NV :D How long ago did your husband leave? It's quite beautiful up here, but yes of course we can't beat the heat of the Nevada, haha. My sister in law lives near Phoenix , AZ and it's sometimes hard to leave the sunshine there, after a visit, for the colder temperatures here, 😅
You might add to that cost the non-monetary cost of living with high levels of alcoholism, drug addiction and anti-social behavior. Be careful to choose a home well away from the trouble spots. Yes, I grew up there, I have family there, I've lost people to the social problems. It can be a wonderful place to live, but chose your geography and friends carefully.
That sentiment can be expressed in any city really. I've lived all over Canada and it's held true no matter where I ended up. There are enough areas of the city to get everything you want or need without being in the spots where what you described even comes into play.
I couldn't say, as I suppose that's up to perspective and individual interpretation. If your referring to similar people commenting on multiple videos, well that's just some associates supporting each other 🙂 Hope you enjoyed the video! Have a great evening 👍🏼😁
I do not care how much you make, BE CAREFUL! cost of living is on the individual(s) just like he said, take it with a grain of salt (a $50.00 grain - ok so i like buying russian salt). this topic is the hardest to do or try to figure out. as a guard (for an example) you make low wages (unless you hit lucky and get a good job some wheres), now at the end of the day you come home (for an example only) to your apartment (that you feel is perfect), the guy next door, same apartment (so much so, some times you find him passed out on your sofa), he is the head manager of Uncle Ben's Beer (old beer company in Prince George and in reality he would have been living at Uncle Ben's mansion but for the sake of arguing (no beer, not arguing untill i get my Kokanee) . now he has everything you do and the same car (its prince george, everyone has the same car - just kidding (i hope)). the thing is he may bring in (for an example) $5,000.00 a month while you bring in halve that. you spend more carefully to get the same thing. you go to super store, while he shops at the fancy food stores, you buy clothes the same as his but with out the label where he goes to the fancy clothes store and buys the exact same pants but with that label on it, he get lots of insurance, you get lots of beer, he pays back student loans, you are a brainless twit (ya thats me i am talking about), he drives all over, you some times walk and take the bus, he buys speciality food, you go out and pick the speciality foods, he went to UVIC, you went to CNC (much better place) and so on and so. Like I said TOUGH VIDEO TO DO because you have to spend your money wisely. the other guy dose too (so I found out) but has a 2nd bank account for just in case moments.
Can you provide the actual average wage then? Because this was pulled from the best sources I could find. If it's incorrect I don't mind amending it to the proper amount, but this was the official amount I could find during my research :)
Why don't you paint us a picture as you see it? I'm always curious about other people's perspectives, as I usually learn something I didn't know before. 🙂

such a valuable video. I'm planning to come to UNBC for my masters. how will be the part time job opportunities for students in prince George??
There is never a shortage of work here if you aren't afraid to get your hands dirty :)
@@LivinginPrinceGeorge Yah I’m ready. Plz advise me what kind of part time jobs I will be able to get?
Plz help me. Coz I will be coming alone.
@@chamithchandrakumara6415 This is a good place to start. And then there are many others, but usually just searching a bit on Google will point you in the right direction. That's how I used to find companies I wanted to work for when I Lived in Ontario and didn't know anyone in the city :)
I hope that helps! www.joblist.com/ca/search?l=Prince%20George%2C%20BC&nm=1
Hi Chamith, did you move to Prince George?
Hey man!I am a prospective student from Bangladesh and I'd love to know about the part time job scenario at PG.Just a brief reply would do.Thanks!
Hi Adnan! I have to be honest, I do not keep tabs on what the job situation is like in Prince George other than the fact that there always seems to be work for those who are committed and looking for it!
I would start with some of the usual resources like CA.indeed.com, www.workopolis.com or maybe www.glassdoor.ca.
Beyond those, google should be able to point you in the right direction also :)
Do not go to Prince George because jobs are hard to find you need to know someone to get hired there. Vancouver is where the immigrants flood to. Many jobs in city.
@@eddiespagetti8395 even part time jobs?
@@adnankhan9572 if your really determined and focused I am sure you could find a job here. Just that all the construction and other jobs are given to locals who know who's who and there are also jobs where you work out of town. It's just a tough job market. Low pay store jobs would be easy to get and there is no real high pay professional jobs very often . It's a great place and it's just not as easy as vancover for finding work. I guess it doesn't matter as long as your determined to find work you will find work anywhere. Good luck if you do head to Prince George. It's gorgeous and a great place to retire
@@eddiespagetti8395 Thanks for your valuable feedback. You've been really helpful with the answers. It's just I'm planning to do my masters from unbc currently, and so I'm really not thinking about professional jobs already. If I can just bear my living expenses working part time,I'll be satified. Thanks again and take care.
This video is 2 years old, you should do a recap in 2023
Hi Brad, I am planning to do an updated video once I can find all of the proper stats, which is really the only reason I havent done one sooner. Its a tedious process gather it all, but I know how valuable it is for people moving here, so keep an eye out for it in the coming months!
are tech jobs good in pg?

Hi Marc,
Could you please say about the part time job opportunity available in the city for an international student. Is it easy to find one.

Great video! I'm a realtor in Reno, NV. Love seeing what other realtors are putting out there for content. My husband is from PG and wants to move back. I would love to move there, but you can't be Reno weather.
Oh nice! I have a team member that lives in Reno, NV :D
How long ago did your husband leave? It's quite beautiful up here, but yes of course we can't beat the heat of the Nevada, haha.
My sister in law lives near Phoenix , AZ and it's sometimes hard to leave the sunshine there, after a visit, for the colder temperatures here, 😅
Merci Adalia! bonne journée à toi aussi, bisous
Wow thanking you
You're very welcome :)
Love from Bangladesh 🇧🇩❤️
Thank you for the support!
Thank you for such a video.
What is the most common general job in PG?
is there any job opportunity for environmentalist?
Hi Helena!
I would start here and then maybe expand your search outwards :)
ca.indeed.com/m/jobs?q=Environmental&l=Prince+George%2C+BC
You might add to that cost the non-monetary cost of living with high levels of alcoholism, drug addiction and anti-social behavior. Be careful to choose a home well away from the trouble spots. Yes, I grew up there, I have family there, I've lost people to the social problems. It can be a wonderful place to live, but chose your geography and friends carefully.
That sentiment can be expressed in any city really. I've lived all over Canada and it's held true no matter where I ended up.
There are enough areas of the city to get everything you want or need without being in the spots where what you described even comes into play.
Why do these comments seem so fake
I couldn't say, as I suppose that's up to perspective and individual interpretation. If your referring to similar people commenting on multiple videos, well that's just some associates supporting each other 🙂
Hope you enjoyed the video!
How is the living cost for international students in prince george?
Average wage....I wish is all I can say
Can you provide the actual average wage then? Because this was pulled from the best sources I could find. If it's incorrect I don't mind amending it to the proper amount, but this was the official amount I could find during my research :)
You're still not telling the real truth about PG
Why don't you paint us a picture as you see it? I'm always curious about other people's perspectives, as I usually learn something I didn't know before. 🙂
@@LivinginPrinceGeorge I did and you took it down
@@LivinginPrinceGeorge I volunteered at the Salvation army, even there it was a cave of racists, the people that you are helping will see you in town a d want to bit you up, just because. going for a drink anywhere, means being treated like an immigrant, very rarely I enjoyed going anywhere

@@greattubing2880 I most definitely didn't delete your comment, as I've never done that for any of my videos, and I'm sorry if your particular experience in PG was not a pleasant one, but don't insinuate that I'm somehow lying or hiding YOUR truth when that hasn't been my experience at all. I also volunteer at the Salvation Army once a year for the last 3 years and have not had even a single instance as you discribe it, so I'm obviously not going to highlight something that's not happened to me. 🤷🏽♂️
