Moronic nonsense that vegans have to put up with. The bottom line is vegans have been ridiculed for years. But times have changed the food industry can make plants taste like meat. There’s literally thousands of peer reviewed studies that show eating more fruits and vegetables and a lot less meat, dairy and eggs benefits health. There’s 70 billion farm animals that have to be fed before they can be eaten there’s only 8 billion humans that’s a problem. Also these farm animals produce sewage that generate a hell of a lot of green house gases. Also in North America the feed crops for animal agriculture are enough to feed the starving populations of the world 2.5x over thats crazy when there’s farm animals that never miss a meal.
I’ve taken meat off my plate because It’s the right thing to do. When faced with the facts it’s a no brainier.

This is my sister-in-law. After I went vegan, she would give me a bunch of crap about eating grass. I explained to her that foods like sausage taste so good because of the way that they’re prepared, such as smoke, spices, and salt. Thus, my vegan sausages taste just as good as meat sausages, especially now that companies like Impossible and Beyond have nailed the texture.
So when I let her try my Beyond Sausage patties, she was dry heaving and gagging very dramatically. She just couldn’t bring herself to admit that vegan food can be delicious. Anyway, fast forward to a few months later, my brother snuck in some Beyond and Impossible mock meats for different meals, and she found them to be delicious. That is, until, he told her weeks later that they were mock meats.
Then came the comments like, “Oh, I knew something was off” and “I thought that tasted funny.”

Although if I were I'd rather a some rats die than a pig, do you know how intelligent pigs are? Eating less meat is the number one thing the average human consumer can do to combat climate change. However climate change is not even the reason I prefer a vegan sausage. I said why I prefer a vegan sausage in my original post. I'd rather eat blended veg in a sausage than blended anuses and whatever other parts get used in the sausage meat of a meat sausage. I used to only eat very high quality and therefore expensive sausages when I ate meat ones but good plant based ones are indistinguishable in texture and flavour because its all blended up. A very different experience from trying to eat a plant based steak or bacon, that doesn't cut it. When meat is heavily processed like in sausages or burgers plant based alternatives have no difficulty tasting almost identical these days but they have the added benefit of not being full of blended dead animal parts, often including anuses. And as for paying more, as I said, I used to eat high grade sausages because cheap ones are gross and have all sorts of random filler instead of even meat and have gross texture so my plant based sausages I eat now are a similar price to the meat sausages I used to eat. It's really no change for me, the only difference is I don't have meat sitting in my bowels rotting my inside. Actually there's one other difference. You don't have to worry so much about food hygiene when handling plant based sausages unlike meat sausages which you can catch worms from if you're not careful or other diseases. Rank.

    • @MaterLacrymarum
      @MaterLacrymarum Год назад

@@JakeLDS 😁 You are entitled to your own preferences. If you don't want to eat meat based sausages, don't eat them. Simple. You prefer highly processed vegetables to highly processed meats, fair enough. You seem to think meat is "rotting my insidw", which is a bizarre comment. Meat doesn't rot your insides. We're carnivores. We evolved to eat meat. If anything, grains are more unnatural to us.
Still, we shouldn't get carried away, I rarely eat sausages. Last night I had a nice pork chop. But your comment about cheaper sausages is a little confusing and contradictory. High-grade sausages are distinguished from low grade by the % of their meat content. The lower the grade, the less meat. You apparently wouldn't eat those, And if they're lower grade, what do they put in instead? Grains, breadcrumbs.... yet you know eat sausages that are 100% grains. That comes across as odd. Sounds to me that you have a preference for the spices used, rather than anything else.
Still, if you don't care about the likes of rats dying, then I fail to understand what your stance is. Have you any idea how intelligent rats are? And why are you ranking animals anyway?
As for catching worms and hygiene, I can assure you, you have to care about it no matter what you eat. I've never caught worms. What the hell were you getting your food from?!?
What I get from your post is that you don't care about animals dying to feed you. You like grain based sausages, but not sausages that have a grain/meat mixture, even if the % of meat is extremely low. Not only that, but you'd never pay less for mostly grain sausages because you's rather pay top prices for wholly grain. Because, reasons.
Look, you want to eat vegan, and I have no issue with that. But these silly excuses are laughable. You're very hard to take seriously when your reasoning is so flawed, but again - it's your choice and you're entitled to it. The truth is, you and other vegans might well be able to persuade people like me to change our diets, but you're going to need better reasoning than this. I eat food for two reasons, nutrition and taste. Cost is also a large factor. The whole guilt-trip thing isn't going to work.

So really I don't see the point of you trying to convince me otherwise, you've said I'm entitled to my own preferences so stop crying about me preferring meat free sausages over eating blended arse holes. You can eat as many blended poop shoots as you like, no one is stopping you little fella. I don't try to convince me there's not butt holes in sausages. @@rescuerhonda0164 _Humans have been killing and raping each other since the beginning of time so that's not a justification._
It wasn't meant to be a justification. I was merely stating that eating meat along with raping and killing each other, are all just facts of life. You cannot possibly stop billions of pepole from doing something that we have been doing since we first existed.
_The reason we need to stop factory farming and killing defenseless, baby animals is because it's unnecessary._
That reason isn't good enough. Billions of meat-eaters aren't going to just stop because someone says "it's not necessary". Meat-eaters fall into four basic categories; the "I don't want to know", the "I've seen those shock-doc's, but I am still going to eat meat", the "I've seen those shock-doc's and it's making me reconsider eating meat" and then there are those who have seen the shock-docs and who decide they don't want to be part of that cycle. By shock-doc, I mean shocking documentaries like the Dominion film you mentioned. I happen to fall into the second category. I've seen footage many times over the decades like what is in Dominion, so seeing one more isn't going to change my mind. The thing is, I think most meat-eaters are in the first category. They just want to enjoy their meat and don't want to see how it gets to their plate. I don't blame them. After all, slaughtering animals is an unpleasant thing to watch and how many people do you know that like to subject themselves to unpleasant things. At least I feel like I made an effort to become aware of what happens in the industry, so I don't feel like I'm living in ignorant bliss.
_Children who hurt animals are considered abnormal (most serial killers killed animals) yet an adult who does it is paid to._
It *is* abnormal for a child (or an adult for that matter) to torture an animal for no purpose other than to make that animal suffer. That is just cruel. Slaughtering animals for food or other by-products _does_ serve a purpose. You don't have to _like_ that purpose, but there *is* a purpose. It's not just cruelty for the sake of cruelty.
_If you leave your dog in a hot car, you will get charged with a felony in many states, and people will break your windows to save them, yet in the US 800,000 pigs die on those trucks every year._
Yes because in the (United) states, dogs are considered pets. Those pigs on trucks are food. This is where vegans always seem to get confused. They see all animals as "equals" but 90% of the world's population make the distiction between animals that are pets and those that are food.
_I guarantee I enjoy vegan food just as much as I enjoyed eating animals. I have become a great cook and I now love to cook._
It's either a misconception that vegans have that meat-eaters _only_ eat meat. Sure I eat meat, but only 2 or 3 times a week and also I *love* fruit/veg. Absolutely *love* them. I'm sure most meat-eaters will tell you the same thing.

Funny thing is, if people knew what was in sausage and had to make it themselves, they would definitely prefer the healthier, equally as tasty, vegan sausages.
I think it's crazy that so much vegan food is really damn good, but people would rather remain ignorant and buy meat just because ''It's what I have always done''.
P.S. I am not a Vegan, But damn, you can't argue with reason and logic when it is right....well you can, but you are ignorant.

Interesting though that he said the 'real' sausage was like cardboard - wonder which brand it was ! Lol

@@kairo5146 Firstly I recommend actually educating yourself on the 'food chain'. It's a myth. If anything, it could maybe be described as a food web. If you think you're at the top of it, you are very mistaken. Ask a lion if it thinks you're higher in the ranks.
Secondly, the reason they are more expensive than meat products is the fact meat and other animal products get double subsidies - once for the plants needed to feed the animals, and then again for the animal products themselves. If they weren't subsidised like hell from taxpayer's money or if vegan meat alternatives had equal subsidies, the prices would not be far apart. It actually takes a lot to raise a giant animal like a cow. It drinks a lot of water every day, eats a lot of food.
