Good lord this video (and it's companion merge to pdf) have saved me literally thousands from having to request an enhancement request from our SAS Billing System developer. Well done, simply explained, robust and extremely powerful.
I am geeking out over this! I work for a small charity that received 143 offline donations all at once, meaning having to merge, convert, and email 143 separate tax receipts. The hours of work your Merge to PDF video Mail Merge to Email video collectively have saved me - and will save me in the future - have been nothing short of life-changing. In the immortal words of William Shakespeare: Thanks, thanks, and ever thanks!
Wow! I found a buried treasure! Thanks so much for putting your macros out there. They both work amazingly, and cut down on the HOURS of minutia I have to take care of. Thank you Thank you Thank you.
Your mail merge to PDF saves me probably 20 hours of grunt work a month. For that alone, I can't thank you enough. I am looking forward to implementing this because I think it will save me an additional 5 or so more hours. You're an outstanding teacher. Clear, well put together. Thanks yet again!😊
Again, Thanks for this :) used the mailmerge PDF along with this email with attachments - you have saved myself and team days of copying/pasting etc - looking forward to any more time saving videos/tips
Thank you Thomas - the code is just a taster of what can be done, so please get in touch if you have any other tasks which could be sped up in a similar way.
Oh my goodness! This was an incredible video and a great resource. I followed all the instructions and it worked perfectly for me. (I didn't need more than ½ of the features and it still worked great!). This will be a big time saver for me over time. Much appreciated!
Thank you for taking the time to make such a great program to complete what MS had left off. This program works great, and I did not have to make any changes to the code (not that I could anyway). Everything worked straight out of the "box". Great Job!!!
I've came across this video (and the previous one on how to create the PDFs) last week, I cannot thank you enough. You have literally saved me dozens of hours a work a month. Well explained and I know little about Excel and I followed it quite easily. Fantasic couple of videos, thank you!
I usually don't comment on videos much..... But damn I must say you made so many peoples job easier with this.... Thank you for this informative video.
Thank you so much for making this tutorial, and the one before which generates PDF’s. As you mentioned, this is incredibly powerful and I really appreciate your efforts. I especially liked how you split the video into two parts, the first being getting the macro into word and setting up your data so you’re all good to go, and the second being a deep dive into how the macro works. This way, it caters to your viewers needs very well. I simply pasted the macro (and added the references) and made sure my data was set up exactly like how you instructed, and the drafts generated perfectly on the first run. Thank you! I hope you continue to make more tutorials like these in the future, you deserve a huge audience.
This is extremely helpful. Thank you so much. We needed to send an attachment to a mail merge we were doing and I followed your detailed instructions. No issues whatsoever. This will save us lots of time going forward!
I'm facing an error please help me out..When I run the micro its shows an error- (User-defined type not defined-and highlights the 1st (Sub EnhancedMailMergeToEmail) and Dim outlookApp As Outlook. Application.
This is an outstanding contribution -- it has saved me hours. The only strange thing I found was that if the file I wanted to attach was in the same folder, I would get the message "File Not Found". If I put the same file in a higher folder, the program found it and added it perfectly. Again, I am really impressed with the job you did developing this and explaining the VBA code.
@@sukhmanikaur3332 ensure your spelling is correct for all titles. In the beginning I couldn't get my second attachment into the e-mail, turns out I had a typo "attachement", with an extra " e". As soon as I corrected that, the 2nd attachment was added.
This is amazing. Thank you so much. I've been using your macros to create personalised PDF documents and mail merge with attachments, which helps me save tons of time.
This along with it's companion (mergetoPDF) is by the far the best tool/tutorial that is available on youtube and I've seen hundreds. A work of art and beautifully done. Along with filters in 'edit recipients' the possibilities are endless. My life is so much easier now. Thank you @imnoss
Thank you very much for this solution. It worked perfectly! I have watched a lot of videos trying to accomplish this and none worked. Imnoss 100% fantastic.
Thank you so much for making this video, I really wanted the dynamic subject line and I wasn't able to figure out how to set that up. Your video instructions worked like a charm and looking forward to using this technique in the future. The whole process and code walkthrough was clearly explained. Thanks again!
Brilliant video! Thank you, I am now able to send our regular Newsletter, via email as an attachment, to our members. Quick and simple, no GDPR issues either.
@@Imnoss I've got it working and it's amazing! Thanks so much. I use this to schedule and send out emails about appointments and with custom corresponding attachments in bulk. My only snag is that when I try to send the emails from the drafts folder in outlook online instead of the desktop app, it doesn't like the format of the email addresses. If I delete them and retype the same address it works, and if I send it from outlook desktop program it works. The reason I want to use outlook online is because of their free delay email feature, which doesn't require the computer to be on to send it at the delayed time. Any suggestions for things to try with the email address format? I've tried semi-colon afterwards, comma, or nothing, and hyperlinked or non-hyperlinked..? Otherwise this is still an amazing time saver thank you!
Thank you. I was getting errors until I removed the columns in the excel file that weren't being used. I ended up using only: Fullname, To, Subject, Attachment and it worked
Thanks, this worked beautifully. One point though - you should mention that the excel file being used for the PDFs is the same one that was used to do the mail merge in word. It may not be obvious to some people (like me..lol)
Works wonderful. Thank you very much. Suggestions: 1. Sometimes one needs to send messages with the same Subject and the same Attachments (not differenrt ones). Then it seems superfluous to add them, in the excell for each row, and perhaps ot can be entered only once by modifying the Macro. 2. I will try to run same mailmerge from Access table, If successful will report
Wow! Just Wow. Thank you so much @Imnoss!! This is excellent instruction and extraordinarily useful. I came from your other video and got the split docs and the PDFs thanks to your Mac code. There were a few hitches but I got it to work thanks to helpful responses you gave other commenters. (FYI, it would not save to a Google drive but would to desktop; it also choked where there were duplicate last names, but that was only a few.) I hoped you'd have Mac code for this Emailing step but see that's not done yet so I'll subscribe. I wish I could give you my old Mac to play around on! Or hire you :-) Alas, I'm in the States. If you ever come to the U.S., visit Chicago and I'll buy you lunch, or a beer in gratitude. You're a great teacher!
Hi, Thanks a ton for this tutorial and it worked like a charm. My requirement is to email customized birthday cards to staffs. I want the picture to be inserted in the mail body rather than add as an attachment. Also the email should go on the birthday dates at a specified time. Will you be able to help me ?
Thanks for the word mail merge to separate pdfs… it was easy to follow. With this one, I’m stuck at the identify the mail merge of the active document. Not sure what I am doing wrong..
Hi, have you set up the mail merge for the document? (i.e. click "Start MailMerge" in the Mailings tab). If you have then is that the document at the front when you run the macro?
I can't even begin to thank you for this FREE solution to save my sanity. I was wondering if you had a suggestion on how to add to the code to have a "reply to" element added. I want to send from the group email box, but have replies go to my individual inbox. Your talents are SO appreciated :) Thank you
Hi Beth, the code is already set up to add a reply to (I added it after making the video). Simply add a column named "ReplyTo" to your Excel sheet and put the desired email address into that column.
It works very well, it only does not work with signatures with images in it. after 2 or 3 emails the MS Word app will crash and you need to restart the process
This is seriously incredible, I am using this tool to send 4k-5k emails at a time, and currently in testing mode, IT WORKS great, and I cant appreciate you enough, The only part that is a bit slow is that it takes about 16 minutes for the message box "Are you sure you want to send XXXX number of email", is there a way to reduce this time? Im guessing based on your notes that it is just counting the rows in the excel spreadsheet?
Hi James, thank you :-) This seems like a nice feature to add so I have updated the code to *not* count active records when there are more than 50 recipients. Please make sure you have the line "If lastRecordNum < 50 Then" at around line 50 when you copy the new code to make sure you have the latest version and not something from a cache.
Thank you! this was something I was doing manually. Discovered your videos and information a tear ago and it has been a life saver! Recently I've been experiencing some issues with sending emails, Outlook won't send the emails with the email addresses it gets from the Excel file. Only after I manually type in the email addresses do the emails go out. Any thoughts on this?
Great tutorial - I am having an issue where of my 10 lines on xls, only my first line is being sent. I am trying to send multiple emails to the same person on different days with diffrent files. Is there any reason this isnt working ? Any help is appreciated
I have tried it and is working, but one thing I noticed is that when I want to send multiple attachments, the file names must correspond with the the ones generated using the file path with Vloook. What I want to achieve is send individual custom attachments and a general attachments like 2 or 3. It may be picture or any file. But I find it difficult to do. Please is there a way to do it?
Hi,Can you please share the macro for the newer version for office 365 as the 2021 version is not working ?I am constantly getting the error 5941-The requested member of the collection does not exist. Thanks
Great video Simon, it helpd me a lot. Could you please give me ideias on how to include a unique clickable web link for each person in the excel file? Thanks.
This code is a tremendous way to improving efficiency! Thank you for sharing. We are in the process of upgrading our machines. Does it require any modifications to be compatible with Windows 11?
Macro is awesome - works great. But I haven't figured out how to send to more than 2 email recipients. I tried adding multiple email addresses in the Send To field separated by a comma but this did not work.
Thank you so much. However, I have a bit of a problem. The attachment isn't working. I've tried severally, but it still doesn't attach my document. How do I solve this issue?
Imnoss! Thats a great work. However while i am testing the same with different options and multiple attachments two issues are present. 1. Images are not being displayed in the body of the email added in the mail merge document & 2. I am not able to send emails from the account mentioned in Account column. Even though i have clearly mentioned from which account it always send from the account which is added in outlook first not from the default account. Kindly explain how can we overcome this.
Excellent! All works as demonstrated for me except the very last (and crucial) steps :( I can only seem to have the emails w/ attachments sent to my Outlook drafts folder (cant send them out as emails to recipients immediately). When the emails are in the drafts folder they cannot be sent out to recipients and the email addresses are highlighted in yellow. If I type out the email addresses exactly as they appear in my excel file under the "To' column I am able to send off the emails. Any help would be appreciated!
I have 2 questions. Can we send emails from shared inboxes and in our organization when we send an email we need to select titus classification for the same and by this method every time I have to select classification as Public, Internal or confidential, can I also automate this using VBA and if yet please help me do so
This is fantastic, thank you! If I wanted to create another column that I'd like insert as a merge field for the body of an email, how could I go about that?
Hi, I don't understand the question. As part of the mail merge you can add any column in the source data into the body of the email by adding it in as a field code into the word doc (this is "normal" mail merge). To put this another way, click where you'd like the text in the body text in word, then click insert merge field and select the field you want to insert.
