- Use Word mail merge to send emails, with all the missing features added back in. Features like adding attachments, having a custom subject, using the CC and BCC fields, using "Send As" (e.g. send as the CEO, you know you want to), and best of all you can save to drafts to check the emails before they go out.
We take you through how to add in a Word macro, set up your data, and create a set of emails. At the end we will also go through the VBA code.
Macro code is found on our website here: imnoss.com/enhanced-mail-merg...

Great content!!! This channel is underrated.👏
Thank you for taking the time to make such a great program to complete what MS had left off. This program works great, and I did not have to make any changes to the code (not that I could anyway). Everything worked straight out of the "box". Great Job!!!
This has been a lifesaver, thank you so much for the easy step by step guide.
Again, Thanks for this :) used the mailmerge PDF along with this email with attachments - you have saved myself and team days of copying/pasting etc - looking forward to any more time saving videos/tips
Thank you for taking the time to create this efficient and nice automated solution, Everything works as it should. Great Job! and thank you again!
Thanks for the clear and easy step by step guide. It helps me a lot.
Thank you so much for making this video, I really wanted the dynamic subject line and I wasn't able to figure out how to set that up. Your video instructions worked like a charm and looking forward to using this technique in the future. The whole process and code walkthrough was clearly explained. Thanks again!
Fantastic - Just what we needed at the Squash Club, no other sideshows, only what is needed. The basic function in detail.
Nevermind, I figured it out!!! Thanks again for this, it is amazing!
Just awesome !! congrats on the dev done!
I'm facing an error please help me out..When I run the micro its shows an error- (User-defined type not defined-and highlights the 1st (Sub EnhancedMailMergeToEmail) and Dim outlookApp As Outlook. Application.
Very amazing. Such a life saver for a company like us that sends hundreds to thousands of certificates. Keep it up! Hope to see you succeed
Your mail merge to PDF saves me probably 20 hours of grunt work a month. For that alone, I can't thank you enough. I am looking forward to implementing this because I think it will save me an additional 5 or so more hours. You're an outstanding teacher. Clear, well put together. Thanks yet again!😊
Worked like a charm!! :) thanks for sharing
Brilliant video! Thank you, I am now able to send our regular Newsletter, via email as an attachment, to our members. Quick and simple, no GDPR issues either.
Thank you very much fo this video it helps alot in mail merginng especially with attachments.
LOVE LOVE LOVE your videos and they work! Thank you!
Superlative solution my friend. I don't have words to thank you. Your channel deserves many more subscriptions and likes. Would recommend it to all.
Thank you for this
Very very very helpful
Hope to learn more from your channel
This was the best Outlook process/tip ever. Thanks for this video. Seamlessly turned my Excel into Mail Chimp.
I have been searching for this solution for more than 6 months. Got it to the point. Thank you very much
Thank you very much for this! You have no idea how helpful. :D You just gained a subscriber.
Thank you so much for making this tutorial, and the one before which generates PDF’s. As you mentioned, this is incredibly powerful and I really appreciate your efforts. I especially liked how you split the video into two parts, the first being getting the macro into word and setting up your data so you’re all good to go, and the second being a deep dive into how the macro works. This way, it caters to your viewers needs very well.
I simply pasted the macro (and added the references) and made sure my data was set up exactly like how you instructed, and the drafts generated perfectly on the first run.
Thank you! I hope you continue to make more tutorials like these in the future, you deserve a huge audience.
Thank you, I appreciate the positive feedback.
Thank You! I work in a nonprofit and this is very helpful for outreach. Thank You!
Great piece of code! Thanks a lot!
I've came across this video (and the previous one on how to create the PDFs) last week, I cannot thank you enough. You have literally saved me dozens of hours a work a month. Well explained and I know little about Excel and I followed it quite easily. Fantasic couple of videos, thank you!
This is an outstanding contribution -- it has saved me hours. The only strange thing I found was that if the file I wanted to attach was in the same folder, I would get the message "File Not Found". If I put the same file in a higher folder, the program found it and added it perfectly. Again, I am really impressed with the job you did developing this and explaining the VBA code.
AMAZING - Thank you so much, love your step by step straightforwardness...
Oh my goodness! This was an incredible video and a great resource. I followed all the instructions and it worked perfectly for me. (I didn't need more than ½ of the features and it still worked great!). This will be a big time saver for me over time. Much appreciated!
Thank you so much! What a great tool to use!
Exceptional! Even if your not a techie this is a phenomenal tool to have in your kit. Thanks so much!
Thank you very much for this solution. It worked perfectly! I have watched a lot of videos trying to accomplish this and none worked. Imnoss 100% fantastic.
This is extremely helpful. Thank you so much. We needed to send an attachment to a mail merge we were doing and I followed your detailed instructions. No issues whatsoever. This will save us lots of time going forward!
Thank you. Great VB code and working like a charm.
Good lord this video (and it's companion merge to pdf) have saved me literally thousands from having to request an enhancement request from our SAS Billing System developer. Well done, simply explained, robust and extremely powerful.
Thank you, this is exactly why we do what we do.
its a life & Time saver in corporate ... Great Job
And thanks for step by step tutorial
Seriously .. thanks man.. you make working life more smarter than harder ....
Wow! I found a buried treasure! Thanks so much for putting your macros out there. They both work amazingly, and cut down on the HOURS of minutia I have to take care of. Thank you Thank you Thank you.
You are so welcome!
Extraordinary! This is the level of code I'd expect you to charge for after seeing the limited example. Very nicely done. Thank you!
Thank you Thomas - the code is just a taster of what can be done, so please get in touch if you have any other tasks which could be sped up in a similar way.
A first class tutorial thank you so much.
What macro code did you use? mine gave me an error
Amazing resource, well done
Super duper! Beats the Mail Merge Toolbox being behind pay wall now. Thanks for the resource.
Happy to help!
Simply Amazing, perfect job.
This is just amazing !!! Thank you for this !!!
Thanks for facilitating. Worked nicely though everything wasn't applicable. Brilliant piece of Work!!
I pasted the same code but yet it is not picking the subject and attachment. What could be the reason behind this ?
@@sukhmanikaur3332 ensure your spelling is correct for all titles. In the beginning I couldn't get my second attachment into the e-mail, turns out I had a typo "attachement", with an extra " e". As soon as I corrected that, the 2nd attachment was added.
Excellent Excellent Videos & Explanations. You're my HERO!!!!!
This is very very helpful!
Wow! Just Wow. Thank you so much @Imnoss!! This is excellent instruction and extraordinarily useful. I came from your other video and got the split docs and the PDFs thanks to your Mac code. There were a few hitches but I got it to work thanks to helpful responses you gave other commenters. (FYI, it would not save to a Google drive but would to desktop; it also choked where there were duplicate last names, but that was only a few.) I hoped you'd have Mac code for this Emailing step but see that's not done yet so I'll subscribe. I wish I could give you my old Mac to play around on! Or hire you :-) Alas, I'm in the States. If you ever come to the U.S., visit Chicago and I'll buy you lunch, or a beer in gratitude. You're a great teacher!
"let's take a deep breath and send the emails"... I know what you mean! Great video!
I feel like I should have paid for this, it was so extremely helpful
Man, thank you so much. You’ve saved me uncountable hours…
Thank you so much!!!!!!!! May God bless you!!!!!!
Greetings from Costa Rica.
thank you
Thanks, this worked beautifully. One point though - you should mention that the excel file being used for the PDFs is the same one that was used to do the mail merge in word. It may not be obvious to some people (like me..lol)
Wowsers! Great tutorial my dude!
I can't thank you enough for doing this.
I pasted the same code but yet it is not picking the subject and attachment. What could be the reason behind this ?
Thank you! It helped a lot.
i've tried several tutorials and none of them worked beside this one :') although this one takes much more effort, it's worth it!
Glad I could help!
I love you! This is fantastic. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
I usually don't comment on videos much..... But damn I must say you made so many peoples job easier with this.... Thank you for this informative video.
I can't say anything that hasn't already been said, all I can do is affirm what has been said: you rock!
thank you
this is prefect! thank you so much really!
Great work
So good, this video is excellent
this is the best ! thank you very much
Absolute Legends. I can't wait to try this!
Thanks Paul :)
@@Imnoss I've got it working and it's amazing! Thanks so much. I use this to schedule and send out emails about appointments and with custom corresponding attachments in bulk. My only snag is that when I try to send the emails from the drafts folder in outlook online instead of the desktop app, it doesn't like the format of the email addresses. If I delete them and retype the same address it works, and if I send it from outlook desktop program it works. The reason I want to use outlook online is because of their free delay email feature, which doesn't require the computer to be on to send it at the delayed time. Any suggestions for things to try with the email address format? I've tried semi-colon afterwards, comma, or nothing, and hyperlinked or non-hyperlinked..? Otherwise this is still an amazing time saver thank you!
Terrific job! Much appreciated
you're welcome
@@Imnoss I hope you are up to something else :) The way of giving info in your videos is perfect
how to attached same file name while sending mail merge emails and also your video is awesome please upload more like this thank you :)
Works wonderful. Thank you very much.
Suggestions:
1. Sometimes one needs to send messages with the same Subject and the same Attachments (not differenrt ones).
Then it seems superfluous to add them, in the excell for each row, and perhaps ot can be entered only once by modifying the Macro.
2. I will try to run same mailmerge from Access table, If successful will report
I really like what you shared. I can see this being a very efficient flow for me. However, do you have any suggestion on how I can get rid of the User-defined type not defined error? I have both references enabled and replaced the XX.X with the version listed in the references. Any assistance would be appreciated.
You are a gem! Too good👌👌
you are the absolute best!
good video!
As amazing as the previous one!
very handy, thank you so much
I CAN NOT THANK YOU ENOUGH!! 🤩
Thank you! Amazing tool
thanks!
How brilliant !
Literally genius !
THANKS, VERY GOOD!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!
So cool!
YOU ARE AMAZING!!!!!!!!! THANNNNNNKKK YOUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!
Unstoppable today, unstoppable today
This code is a tremendous way to improving efficiency! Thank you for sharing. We are in the process of upgrading our machines. Does it require any modifications to be compatible with Windows 11?
Absolute genius. Wow.
Great, it also helps me a lot, Just have one question is there any video or any solution we can use over Gmail?
Thank you for showing us this amazing macro to use mail merge. It is very helpful 👍.
However, in the each attachfile section and if InsStr(1, mailBody..) and related ones to attachments code it was throwing me an error because 76 and 91. I then had to mark them as comment in order to run the macro.
Could you tell what could be the issue?
Thank you so much 🙂🙂
Thank You so much 🙂
Wow. This is too good. Million thanks for the informative video. Saves a lot of office time.
I just found one small glitch. Even while there is no attachment, the outlook sent/draft shows the attachment icon. Is there any way to remove that. (It doesn't affect much, but I thought it would be appropriate to notify so that you can work on that)
Super sir, excellent delivery, thanks for explanations, how to send the mail thru Gmail instead of Outlook
Ingenious
Great to hear! Thank you
Thanks a lot ! I have tried many codes but unable to get the desired result but Its really working !
Great 👍
Hi All! I am a rookie when it comes to this so I appreciate your work in making this video and all the helpful comments from everyone! I encountered an issue, run time error 5631 due to that the data records were empty or none matched the query options. Has anything changed in the code? Thanks so much for any response! Have a lovely day
Thank you. Does this process you have explained work on gmail or only outlook?
Hi, Thanks a ton for this tutorial and it worked like a charm. My requirement is to email customized birthday cards to staffs. I want the picture to be inserted in the mail body rather than add as an attachment. Also the email should go on the birthday dates at a specified time. Will you be able to help me ?
superb helpful
Thank you! this was something I was doing manually. Discovered your videos and information a tear ago and it has been a life saver!
Recently I've been experiencing some issues with sending emails, Outlook won't send the emails with the email addresses it gets from the Excel file. Only after I manually type in the email addresses do the emails go out. Any thoughts on this?
Excellent! All works as demonstrated for me except the very last (and crucial) steps :( I can only seem to have the emails w/ attachments sent to my Outlook drafts folder (cant send them out as emails to recipients immediately). When the emails are in the drafts folder they cannot be sent out to recipients and the email addresses are highlighted in yellow. If I type out the email addresses exactly as they appear in my excel file under the "To' column I am able to send off the emails. Any help would be appreciated!
This is amazing and is saving me a ton of time. Is there a way to add more than one email address in the cc field?
You can, just separate them with a semi-colon like you would in an outlook email.
👃Thank you very much, saved my day!👏
You're welcome!
