Told u those BCRs are stupid easy to put in. Haven’t had a single problem with my engines that have them.

I wonder if these would work in the older Lionel TMCC engines that require a battery

Quick question, how do you recharge the battery ? Does it do it by itself when u have the battery inside the energy ?

Okay, so it's easy to replace the battery in a steam loco. How hard is it to remove the shell of a diesel? That's my concern. I have basic mechanical skills, but afraid to remove something that I may not be able to put back together.

Most diesels are held down by 4 to 8 screws. You can pull it off and lay it to the side (wires still attached to lights and smoke unit in shell if there).
My advice is just be gentle and you will have no problems.

Hello Ravenhawk 6910. I’m looking to replace my 2.4V AA MTH NiCd Battery Pack with a BCR2 in my PS2 Graffiti Subway Set from 2005. The one question I have is, “How many years are these BCR’s and BCR2’s supposed to last before replacing them, or are they a lifetime replacement?” I’m concerned that when MTH closes its’ doors next year, battery replacements down the road will be difficult to get, unless of course you purchase knock off batteries. I personally won’t do that because they are cheaply made, and I don’t want anything destroying the circuitry. I want something that will last a long time. Thank you. Tom

I put a J & W BCR battery in my MTH General Proto 1.0 in 1997 and to this day in 2022 it has never failed to operate all the features.

vary interesting review just never heard of that type of battery before this and i know mth doesn't close till next year i would so hope lionel would make some of the cp hudsons (some of them that come to mind are the 2816 the 2860 and the 2839 i would like to see the 2839 cause it was used shortly for the southern steam program and i find it interesting they used a cp hudson for awhile)
