He also led the paper to its first two best of show awards from the Malofiej Infographics World Summit for work that included coverage of the Iraq war. Mr. Blow became the paper’s design director for news before leaving in 2006 to become the art director of National Geographic magazine. Before joining The Times, Mr. Blow had been a graphic artist at The Detroit News.

    I agree with Brother Charles Blow. I moved away from Massachusetts in 1993 and didn't look back since. I currently live in Maryland and like it much better than any part of the "Northeast States" HOWEVER my ultimate goal is to relocate away from the United States of America altogether.
    I want to live in a Predominantly Afro Diaspora Populated Country either in West or East Africa or a strategic selected country in "The Americas" (South of Mexico)
    In the meantime, I am enjoying my time living south of Pennsylvania.

    Just finished reading his book how refreshing to read a book that tells it like it really is and provides a real solution and direction for black people a major wake up call for me was when the cop that killed Eric Garner was not even indicted and was given a promotion by the police dept before he was eventually fired this confirmed for me that their is no difference between North and South because what happened here in NYC with this man not even being indicted is about as bad as it gets

    This is a very interesting and fascinating theory. The thought that we could dominate or significantly the political and economic structure of the south is quite intriguing. It would also be the ultimate irony for the confederate south. I can see those racist rebels turning over in their graves. Lol

    The realization that many Asian and Hispanic immigrants do not identify as ‘non-white’ is so important. I witness this tendency especially here in the Miami-Dade area, where Trump’s quite popular, despite his extreme anti-immigrant rhetoric and past policies.

    W.E.B DuBois pushed for segregation and believed blacks should be self sufficient. It sounds as if these two are reexploring that direction. And I couldn't agree more. I think it's safe to say Booker T. Washington's way hasn't yielded a whole lot of fruit over the last century.

    The issue with voters of all walks voting for Trump, and arriving at a racial answer, is that it's not a one-dimensional decision on the part of millions. There are economic reasons to be considered, as well as other categories, and recent events have accentuated that. There are political ideologies people consider that may include race in certain cases, but it go beyond that.

    Moving back south isn't a bad idea. United we stand. Divide we fall. 1910 and Henry Ford Car Manufacturer must be included. Blacks have money and businesses now YES let's move back South but not as far away as Africa. Leave over abused, return with power. Btw/we all humans are slaves to money. Jesus said if your earthly master is cruel to you still follow me in faith. Education sets us Free & MLK proved this. Young men, middle age married men moved at the beginning. The Native Guard never fought with the Confederate! Oh, the Hippy Generation. I am with them!! Vermont is a past examlpe of what blacks moving down South in this day 😮 WOW...... let's go🎉 You are speaking from a higher level ( rom 1:20) now. Always move where the jobs are Charles.❤. Remember Vermont...yes!! Africans got money and could come here to America. Are Nigerians Chirstians or Muslims? Stress does kill. Happier free than a slave. You're speaking on voting now. Where are black folks moving to in the South❓1/2 the tape has gone. I'm leaving

    This conversation fails to address any of the seriously important issues we face. We have sufficient political power today to accomplish everything that needs to be done. We need to raise our bar on education & family stability and reduce violence and crime in our communities. Just like any other ethnic group, if we concentrate our population, we will split into competing factions. We will become like Nigeria today. Muslim, Christian, Hausa, Fulani, Yoruba, Igbo, Ijaw acting tribally, in ongoing conflict. It is human nature to fractionate. We need to move away from tribalism, not toward it.

    • @johnfulton4921
      @johnfulton4921 2 года назад +1

      I think that all of our diverse groups believe in the issues you have mentioned and having a larger black population places us in a better position to demand better health care education policing that protects us instead of harming us we can see our tax dollars working for us and let's enjoy the cultural diversity we as a people have the food fashions music literature values let the party begin when you focus on our differences you're falling into the divide and conquer game

    • @johnfulton4921
      @johnfulton4921 2 года назад

      We do have political power but your use of the word sufficient bothers me because to really get things done in this country if you're black being sufficient is not good enough our needs get compromised because the needs of others have to be addressed if where the majority in a state then we determine how different concerns are funded the states determine your quality of life the federal govt sets policy but how your state implements the policy is what affects your life more education health care policing etc

    • @patharvard
      @patharvard 2 года назад

      @@johnfulton4921 here is why I say we have sufficient political power. Look at the high levels of success in education, finance and health among Jews, Japanese, Chinese, Filipinos, Vietnamese, Indian, Korean and others who have had virtually no ethnic representation in our state or national legislatures. Many of our wisest, most self-empowering leaders have pointed this out, but their voices are largely ignored, except among our upper middle class, who have thrived in America, despite the racist laws of the past.

    • @choicesii1
      @choicesii1 8 месяцев назад

      I find what you're saying problematic as it's kind not a good comparison. All those people in Nigeria you mentioned speak a different language. The problem in Africa is not tribal, but more so you put many people with many different beliefs and the fact that they can't communicate in a common language, then say elect one president.

    • @choicesii1
      @choicesii1 8 месяцев назад

      I don't think I've ever seen black people advocating for anything aside from better education, well paying jobs, and proper policing. What other things have black people been advocating for that I'm not aware of? I think you're missing the entire point of the video and going off on a tangent.
