I will say that the “no pain” is VERY subjective. I swelled like a watermelon and it felt like I was being burned alive. Now the result was worth it but don’t be surprised if your treatment is barely tolerable. Ask for nitrous oxide ( if avail)as well as the numbing cream.
I had the same experience as you. My eyes were almost swollen shut! I’m two weeks out and I’m still red and have some dryness. They went pretty aggressive on me and said my side effects were normal! I had it done on a Thursday and worked Sunday. I was still a little swollen at that point. I hope it was worth it!
When I hear good advice, I should always do two things: Take it in and pass it on.... by far you are the best doc... learning from from the experience is always the best...😍
I am getting this done Monday and cannot wait at a local dermatologist. I cannot wait and like your description of the whole Halo Laser treatment, from beginning to end.
@@CharlesBingley-v9iIt was pretty gnarly - pain wise, however it was totally worth it & it all goes to plan I’ll be doing another this winter again. Friends have told me years later that they have seen the different in my skin from my acne scars being depleted significantly. So I want to do it again one to two more time, possibly three if necessary.
@@XxRonnie86xX Glad to hear you were happy the results! I want to get it too, but I'm reading so many comments about being painful I'm a little nervous now.haha
I'm big into the sunscreen. I'm ivory, red, and green, so my skin is very, very pale. I'm practically a vampire and burst into flames in the sun! I love your area and have skiied in the Boise area years ago. Sunscreen in the High mountain areas is key and necessary!
Would you recommend this for a 76 year old redhead with some discoloration and wrinkles? It has been but I am a little concerned due to my age. I do have some precancerous cells and deep pores. What do you think?
I had an experience with lidocaine. I was having my wisdom teeth pulled while awake and the surgeon injected my gum and I immediately felt woozy and out of it. He asked if I was ok and I told him I felt like I was going to faint. He said I turned really pale. I’m not afraid of needles at all and have even drawn my own blood at the onco clinic just to see my CBC. Now I know for sure it was the lidocaine. My HR rests in the high 50s and it all makes sense now. Btw that’s the biggest tub of Aquaphor I have ever seen. I have a big tub and use it on my feet and sleep in socks at night after bathing.
This was super helpful! Do you recommend any painkillers before the procedure to help those first few hours (looking back on it)? I keep seeing it feels like hot lava on your face but my PA has me coming in an hour beforehand to numb my face and neck.
Dr. Portela i'm confused. I thought that lasers would cause patchiness for facial hair?? Iv'e consulted for the BBL and Halo for skin redness on my face but they keep telling me it will cause facial hair patchiness. Please explain
If I get something like this done on a friday, and go to work in monday, can i wear minimal makeup? Was it uncomfortable to sleep? (Eg if you're a side sleeper, do you feel your skin burning against the pillow?)
could you please clarify if the halo laser damages facial-hair on men? it is the only thing i am hesitating with at the moment. don't want to lose my stubble tbh.
From what I've heard, the Halo laser targets water in the skin. Therefore, it's unlike traditional lasers which targets melanin and damages hair follicles.
Can laser skin treatments (IPL?) lighten small moles/birthmarks or is it only for aging spots? What's the best way to blend in moles/birthmarks? thanks.
I see a superficial boxcar scar on your cheek. Was that caused from the laser? I have a super facial boxcar scar that was caused from irritation due to using acids, and I am researching a way to get rid of it.

I had it done 2 weeks ago. Pain, swelling and all the rest. Now I look the same as before I dropped $2000.00. I am very disappointed.

There are too many techs doing Halo on people that are not doing it the way you described.

Fraxel or Halo? Which one is more effective?
Fantastic. Great job.
Great video! I am getting this done real soon. Is this a good treatment for acne scars or would the CO2 be a better option?
Any updates on your results?

Very detailed thank you

Will you say this is best for antiageing and promoting new collagen or is there something better?
How do you feel about a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon performing this vs a Dermatologist?
As long as a person is trained properly

does it really good for acne scars the halo laser ?
Is the Pixel Laser similar to this one? I have really big pores and some acne scars, so which one would you recommend?
Pixel is also an erbium laser. It doesn’t have the second wavelength like halo though.
how does this compare with fotona laser?
Does thw halo laser cause facial fat loss and does it make you look older
It produces collagen. The goal is to make you look younger-not older. No one would be doing it if it made you look older.
What percentage was your halo?
I see a superficial boxcar scar on your cheek. Was that caused from the laser?
I have a super facial boxcar scar that was caused from irritation due to using acids, and I am researching a way to get rid of it.
All of the You Tube videos show young to fairly young people. What can an "old" person expect?
did it help your poors??
Poors? You mean pores?
