lol, FAMU's woodwinds are loud though. You need them for the ballads, french horns goes to Miles College, look up "Miles Neck Up Close And Personal". NSU got them Tbones, look up NSU TBONE FANFARE, and tuba's between VSU, TXSU, GSU. But Grambling has a small Tuba section
Everybody is cranking...I love it. The thing that kinda dampened it was that trumpet who squealed the wrong note. Does anybody know where I can get a copy of this from?
@LittlJohn You got it all wrong, JSU has the best Trombones in all HBCU's, consistently every year they are strong and they are the best section at JSU. Its been that way since the early 90's, even in 1993 when they only had 16 they were hell. You might want to do more research before speaking on my section.
@nigelholland3 I mean as far as sound, I don't recognize JSU for their trombones more so Trumpets and Tuba's than anything, well when I was doing band, I noticed JSU for their trumpets. Each school has stronger sections than others like SU is for Trumpets and French Horns, Grambling for Tuba's and Trumpets, NSU has the screaming trombones, trumpets and baritones and their t-bone section was huge, FAMU will always own woodwinds.
Probably will, I've been displaced from HBCU bands for over 4 years cause I chose to go to a music school instead of doing marching band. But going off from when I use to follow HBCU bands I wasn't a fan of JSU trombones. I liked NSU, FAMU, BCU, etc. Not JSU. But thats me.
Ion know what are talking about saying JSU bones dont stand out....JSU got the best trombone section in the HBCU world. Ask anybody who got the best trombone section in the SWAC and stands out the most, they will say JSU. JSU got the best hands down in the HBCU world followed by BCU and FAM maybe...
@n2deep56 They strong, but they don't stand out, NSU's tbones stand out, FAMU's Tbones stand out, hell even TSU's tbones. SWAC is best at in this order Trumpets, Tuba's, Baritones, French Horns. I didn't say that Jackson's tbones suck, I just said that if I had a dream band, I would take their Trumpets and Tuba's first then Mellophones and Baritones before Trombones. 93 I was only 2 years old. I'm not researching marching band. I'm a musician on my way to fame and glory. I just love marching.
and Southern use to have the best trumpets of all HBCU bands not from a technical aspect, I'd have to say SCSU have the best technical trumpet players, but as far as volume. Their trumpets are nasty. JSU trumpets are good. Norfolk trumpets are okay I guess.
SU trumpets dont reach the other side of the field..Trombone wise Id go to JSU or Bethune...Mellos TxSU..Tubas TSU...Baritones SU...Trumpets NSU or JSU
"Your attention please. The two young girls have been found. Thank you for your cooperation. *CRANK* lol i love it.
