    On our estate the speed limit is 20mph, it would be nice to see the police put this much effort into catching the idiots (and there are a lot of them) who are doing 40mph and the numpty's who park with all four wheels on the pavements forcing pedestrians, mothers with pushchairs and mobility scooters onto the roads to get past. Oh! Here's an idea, what about a Bobby on the beat, or is that just me being ridiculous.

    The hard shoulder is not the place to answer a mobile phone call , it's there for emergencies only ( flat tyre , engine fails , damage vehicle ) . If your vehicle is fitted with bluetooth , you do not need to touch your phone .

    Whilst driving, apart from the physical act of using a mobile, any conversation is likely to be far more distracting. So even a ‘hands-free’ kit is not safe.

    • @johnb8956
      @johnb8956 Год назад

      No, you’d have to wait to get to the services if you really need to use your phone. Like you said, hard shoulder is for emergency use only, using your phone is not an emergency, and in the off chance it is, you have a legal exemption to use your phone in an emergency.

    more money making from police forces, the expense doesn't tally up though, 2 police officers in a lorry doing 8 - 10 kilometer;s per litre, 1 police officer following in a BMW. SO DO THE MATHS 3 x police officers @ £18 - £20 per hour x 8 HR Day, lorry full of fuel 300 - 400 litres @ £2.00 per litre plus the fuel for the BMW, then there are the enviromental issues like pollution to stop someone with no seat belt on its a joke, now someone using a mobile phone that's different that should be 12 months ban first offence no ifs, no buts and once people now that is what's coming the need for this bullshit could be cancelled and police time used better.

      What a ridiculous comment. I presume you are aware that the Police have many different departments, each dealing with designated crimes. In case you don't understand, let me explain. There's a department that deals with burglaries. There's a department that deals with muggings, attacks etc. There's a department that deals with fraud. There's a department that deals with domestic violence. I could go on but the point is this. This video is showing just on e department. GET IT?? ????

      In 2021 1,608 people were killed on UK roads, and a further 26,701 were seriously injured. An untold further number suffered minor injuries.
      Comparably, there were 696 deaths labelled as homicide. This is less than half of the amount of people killed on the roads.
      So tell me, Kirsty. Who are the ‘real criminals’?
      I would advise you to watch videos such as “Driver using mobile phone kills family on A34” and similar videos you can find on RUclips. I again ask you to revisit the question, “who are the real criminals?” after watching.
      I would like to hope, for everyone’s sake, that your comment comes from a place of stark ignorance, rather than of blatant malevolence and disregard for life, which would be the alternative.
