Hello, thank you for watching and commenting! I cannot agree with you more! The amount of fruiting and flowering trees is astonishing to me. I also can't believe how abundant everything is just in the front yard. Our backyard tour will be up tomorrow so definitely make sure to check it out. I am very lucky to be neighbors with them.
My Rangoon Creeper vine made it through its second summer and looks great. Haven’t seen any blooms yet so not sure what season I should look for, probably Spring? Thanks for sharing - quite a few gardeners in the Phoenix area!
Hello, thank you for watching and commenting! I have heard amazing things about the Rangoon Creeper vine. I'm hoping to get to add it to The Green Yard soon. From what I've heard from people growing in Phoenix they usually flower in late spring, summer and fall. Yes there are! Hopefully I'm able to bring more food forest and garden tours to the channel next year!
Hi, my name is Ed and I am trying to grow lots of fruit in my yard as well. I’m in the central Phx area and have maybe 60 or more edible trees and plants growing. I like what you’re doing and wanted to connect, thanks
Hello @edwardrooney3891 thank you for watching and commenting! That is awesome that you are trying to grow lots of fruit in your yard as well. Wow, 60 edible trees and plants is a lot. I appreciate the kind words, I am always looking for more gardeners that are open to giving me a tour of their Green Yard on camera for the channel. Let me know if this is something that you are open to doing and we can start planning a date this spring. You can also email me at, thegreenyardarizona@gmail.com. Look forward to speaking with you soon!
Hello, thank you for watching and commenting! I agree, Steven's garden is really amazing. Make sure to tune in for the our video next week featuring part 2 where we tour his backyard.
Absolutely love this! Thank you for posting this video and educating ppl in Az (like myself) and letting us know that you can grow tropical trees in the desert. I currently have over 30plus fruit trees in my backyard and they’re THRIVING! Whenever I go to random nurseries and tell them this they say ,, it’s impossible to grow tropical trees in Az and I tell them YOURE WRONG ! Haha bc my trees are thriving , growing and fruiting. It’s all about building a microclimate
Hello, thank you for watching and commenting! I really appreciate all of the kinds words. It is definitely possible with a lot of work and the proper microclimate. Steven has done an amazing job in transforming his yard. I'm hoping when The Green Yard is 8+ years old it looks something like his.
Wow! Wonderful yard and a great collection! That sapodilla is really big! I have a 2ft sapodilla that sprouted a total of two new leaves in the last 18 months :-) (Bay Area, 9B)
Hello, thank you so much for watching and commenting! Yes, Steven's yard is amazing! I'm hoping someday soon The Green Yard becomes as beautiful and abundant as his property. Yes it is! I have one that I planted last year and it's grown to almost four feet but definitely not as big as his sapodilla's. I think he has three different kinds on the property too, two in the front yard and one in the back. At least it sprouted two new leaves! I hope you get a lot more growth and fruit soon!
Steven mentioned he transplanted a couple dozen trees… did he do it himself or hire a company to do it? Was it tough or expensive? Just looking at options as we’re quickly outgrowing our backyard, but don’t want to lose the fact that a lot of our trees have grown 2x to 4x the size we got them at!
Hello, thank you for watching and commenting! I'm pretty sure he did it himself but I will have to ask. When I moved into The Green Yard from our previous house I had to transplant multiple trees. Most of mine were small but I did have a medium sized Pink Lady Apple tree I was able to move with the help of a neighbor and my dad. If they're big I would say a company would probably be the best option. I feel that medium and small you could probably do yourself. I completely agree with you, it's hard to leave behind those trees that have grown 2-4x in size since you purchased them.
Hello, thank you for watching and commenting! Unfortunately no Jake Mace honorary push-ups this video. Maybe next time if we do a follow up video with Steven we can add some in there.
Hello, thank you for watching and commenting! That would be amazing to come check it out. Are you open to giving us a tour that can be featured on The Green Yard similar to this video with Steven? If you can reach out through our email address at thegreenyardarizona@gmail.com with more details we can try to schedule a time. Just let me know and thank you!
Omgosh, Steven and Soren have an AMAZING food forest! 😍❤️🌱🥰 You are lucky to be neighbors!!! 💕

@@thegreenyardaz Thanks for the reply!
@@thegreenyardaz Were you ever able to find out how Steven transplanted his trees? Did he just do it himself as well? Thanks!
I was really hoping that Guy would do some push-ups in honor of Jake Mace
