I've got one of these. (2015 model). I love all the tones you can get from it. You can get a fat overdrive sound, clean Freddie green, twang, rockabilly, and more. It just feels great and looks great too
I traded my American made Telecaster for it and i don't regret it a bit. Its very well made and the feel of it is top notch, sounds awesome coming out of a Fender Tweed Jr Now stands proudly next to my Gibson J45 and Gretsch L-triple O
gretch should make a poison ivy model shes been advertising thoes guitars tough since the 70s and shes awsome player deserves a signature guitar from gretch for a minute now
I just ordered one of these in Aspen Green! I dont know what it is about a singlecut guitar but it has ALWAYS been more pleasing to my eye than double cuts! Whether its a hollow body, semi hollow, or solid body guitar, Gibson, Fender, PRS, Gretsch, etc. I mean, I get the advantages to a double cut but to me singlecuts just look more badass and I prefer them 100% of the time.
I agree, for what it’s worth, single cut for the win, I have a G5620t in Georgia Green, I really like the cats eyes are bound, something about it just finishes off the look, it’s pretty well impeccable, except I find the Ends of the nut are a little sharp, going to correct that.
Gretsch and Yamaha have a lot in common. Their student models and their professional models give you far more than you pay for. Their mid-range models are on par with their price tags, but their most expensive and their least expensive guitars are AMAZING values. Both companies are well aware that before you take the stage, you need a solid instrument on which to learn.
Mannnn. Looks nice. I find my self on this HUGE Rockabilly kick these days. And I'm like , what are they playing haha. This is the first thing I find. Looks like it will work. I just need to decide if I need this one or the Streamliner ! Prolly go for the Electromatic just because!! I don't think I could go wrong with this bad boy.
Hi, I am looking at purchasing this In my country online. I know that this is the older version 5420T BT-FT... but what I don't know is where it was made? Is this same as the new 5420T made in Korea? Thanks!
I always loved the tone of those big hollow body guitars but only a few have a cutaway deep enough to access the d to D at the end of the fretboard. I do like the new Flame Maple Country Gentleman and the 1955 White Falcon reissue though. If I had $6000.00 in disposable $$$$ then they would be in my meager collection. I prefer long scale but do like one of the center block guitars too. My main guitar is a Music Man Silhouette hard tail but did play a Guild Starfire from the 60's to the 80's. I really like that fat hollow body tone.
For a folk solo singer songwriter would this one be a good addition? or not a big difference to a solid body lets say with humbokers a bit darker sounding?
i nearly bought 1 like that at jb had it stayed while i go to d CR. when i came back an old man bought it ahead. To my dismay, i challenged him sample play. Wow! It sounds great n d man plays good. i took another eg n jammed wd him. Jb personels got impressed, i to d drums n 1 to d bass. So there goes d sample jam play
@@Galactus.96 tough call...I might have to give ease-of-play and feel to the PRS. The neck is just buttery smooth, no fret snags. The Gretsch has this classic design, mine is orange, so I love the nostalgic look and has a great "plucky" sound, but can handle drive for some dirtier playing...I think I would go Gretsch if I ABSOLUTELY HAD to choose, but luckily I don't ;)
@@jeremymcclellan2550 yeah the Gretsch has been on my wishlist for a while now. I got the Zach Myers prs on layaway and I'm 3 payments away. My style is more of a Hollow body but the prs caught my attention in both looks and feel and for not being a semi-hollow body fan, especially with just one F-hole, I think that's saying something about this particular PRS.
+TheSymmetryTheory It sounds fucking awesome. Cupping your hand over the bridge pickup helps cut out a lot of feedback. I played one in a music store before, turned the gain all the way up, and sat about a foot away from the amp. It didn't feedback.
My 2016 was made in KOREA. and pretty good quality too. plays GREAT. but if you use the bigsby you better lube up the knut..!!! or you will drop out of tune ..!!!
Que lastima que no la probaste con sonido limpio y claro, en todos estos lugares donde se prueban guitarras, siempre pero siempre el clasico ruido basura heavy distorsionado, no encuentro a nadie que toque claro y limpio, que lastima
I bought mine for $799+ tax, US currency. Once I spent $180 to replace the piece of shit plastic nut with a custom bone nut and a quality setup, this guitar is second to none. I highly recommend it only if you replace the nut.
after mentioning George Harrison, you think he is gonna name that no good piece of shit? please! (Brian Jones also, your jack white doesn't belong in this category )
+Maraguzzi well i really like the guitar and im saving up for one of these electromatics but thats all i could see was that fckn moster yelling at me, almost like it was playing the guitar

you would be correct. cadmium is also limited in this European Standard.... it also calls for a (reduction of Hazardous Substance) RoHS-compliant solder is 96% tin, 3.5% silver and .5% copper. So it is not a maker of Pick ups.

Rockabilly!
i tried this through a Big Muff. That was waaay too much fun. This is an all around great guitar .luckily it comes left handed so i ordered one.
winston churchill it sucks being a fucking lefty every decent guitar i find is always just outside my price range

Brian Setzer ROCKS!!
I bought it for my cousin he decided to play metal on it -.-
- Gitarrr how does one play metal on that?
I'll pray for it
-berkay Eker That’s not bad. I got an electric cello for Christmas 3 years ago and have been playing metal on it ever since.
Guy fro G&R playes em. They overdrive beautifully!
\m/
It looks so much like Eddie Cochran's it's beautiful
Beautiful looking guitar - I love their cadillac green colour too.
I love mine. Plays well and is one of my the most beautiful guitars out there.
The best Hollow Guitar I ever had Sounds Gretschy

I play mine through a blackstar HT5R on the clean channel with a wampler Eco comp and a little delay its incredible
that Blackstar head is really nice, I had one once too.
How does the Guitar Center channel misspell Gretsch?

gotta have the filtertrons, the streamliners don't cut it.
@ronmurray3338 thanks for the info brudda!!
This isn't really a demo. A demo would include different styles of playing and show the sound of each pickup combination.
awesome video am settled on getting one of these distinct well made and classic
hmmm. i buy it but the twang is not there, perhaps any setup need to be done?
Thank you
Ive had this one since 2014. SO worth the money... the ONLY complaint is the floating bridge. Why?

Better than the les Paul in my opinion
How wide is the Gretsch Guitars C5427T
Electromatic Hollowbody
Is it 16 inches ??

The band "Bow Wow" rocks it too in their song ..."I Want Candy"
It’s Bow Wow Wow
Not to mention Duane Eddy!
I just got one. Too bad they don't have the hump block inlays anymore.
How do you like it tho ? I agree with you on the inlays. I like the hump block better

This or the PRS Zach Myers SE (semi-hollow)? I think they're at the same price range?

Made in Korea ? Or Indonesia ?

Lovely guitar. But any guitar is only as good as the player. And I must say that you play the hell out of it. Good informative video 👍
Dude a get mine for $478 i´am so happy
I have this model and the pots are god awful, I switched them out for evh. Made the guitar very fun and easy to play.

Justin Sullins no i didn't have any humming, or inerferance form lighting. Sound like what you discribe.

Damn, hot!
I'm a 7 string player with plans to expand to 8. It would be nice if Gretsch made extended range hollow bodies.
Gretsch had the first production model 7-string back in the 60s. The great George van Eps plsyed the snot out of it.
