I was surprised to hear her talk in a porteño accent, I had no idea she was Argentinian.

She is seriously like a throwback to old glamour Hollywood in that dress. I mean she's always beautiful but this is stunning. And talented beyond belief. Anya Taylor-Joy should do everything and I will be here for it.

I honestly didn't expect her to be THAT charismatic, being a first time host and sort of a newly minted star. She's awesome.

I'm an Argentinean fan of SNL since my teenage years in the 80's. It took me almost 40 years to listen to the host introduce the show in Argentinean Spanish with a Porteño accent, but you finally did it! Gracias totales, Anya! 🇦🇷

@@KidNazzty Less than 20 Latinos have hosted this show which has over 900 episodes. There have been only 3 Latino repertory players in this show which has been on the air for 46 yrs. A Latina choosing to speak in her native Spanish during a monologue, on a show like SNL - which represents a cultural institution in American television (everyone knows of SNL, whether they like it or not) - is important, even if it's just a couple lines. We can cheer every moment of inclusion for our people, even small ones, without lowering our bar in the fight for true representation and inclusion.
Such a stage and screen star. She seemed fully herself and very authentic. Kudos to her and her family for raising a wholesome person.

After seeing her in many dark horror movies and Thoroughbreds I knew she’d make it big. She has great range. This monologue was very clever and her delivery was adorable and snarky. She and Jodie Comer are QUEENS of accents.

@@chrysalissartorious7648 George Miller has said he doesn't think the de-aging process is good enough yet. He used The Irishman as an example saying it was a distraction and I fully agree. As much as he'd want Theron it's just not possible for the origin story with today's technology. That said, Taylor-Joy is fully capable of picking up the role.

Its is actually a variant of castilian (wrongly called "spanish" for there are various spanish languages); argentine or river plate castilian is already inmensely influential in music, literature, tv and film

But seriously though, as somebody who’s been riding the Anya Taylor-Joy hype train (and was honestly probably driving it for a period of time) since she completely won me over with her darkly comedic performance in 2018’s BRILLIANT Thoroughbreds, seeing the success that she’s had this past year has just been amazing

@@Silent_Fool OMG, give Chris Pratt a chance. I love how people are judging when they haven't heard a single line of dialogue or seen any visuals yet. At least Martinet is still doing the film. It also shouldn't be a surprise, seeing that it was announced last February that he wasn't gonna reprise his voice for Mario and/or Luigi. It could of been what he wanted, we don't know and might never know.
@@b1galbos89 First, I’m not saying negative towards Chris Pratt. He’s great as Star Lord and even has did voice acting like Emmet from Lego Movie. However, it’s weird that he is playing an Italian Plumber. Replacing Charles Martinet is like replacing RDJ with someone as Iron Man (except for What If… because there are different Tony Starks) I am giving a chance on Chris Pratt. Though the only reason I am watching Super Mario Film is Jack Black as Bowser and Charlie Day as Luigi.
