Pete, I will echo the cries of others, "Please, bring back the dad jokes!" (Grin) Now that was fun, the hens might not have enjoyed it, but it was fun to watch. Fresh eggs, Yeah! If I were near you I'd place an order every other week. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe.
Love the chickens. Henry was watching closely to see if any hens hurt. It was great watching him have a heart instead of tossing them around. Have a great 4th of July.
What a fun video!! It was wonderful seeing the whole family together working on a project. Hillary, I thought that Tire was low myself because as Pete said it was sucked down because of the rain and damp ground so don’t feel bad for thinking that I could not believe you nearly had 150 hands in that building. I guessed 50 to 60 by just appearance but clearly you guys counted them and I was way off and they’re a lot more in there than any of us realized❣️ I’m glad you all went out for lunch together. I’m sure you were hungry and ready to eat without having to cook anything after all that work. As somebody pointed out already in the comments, there’s a lot of work goes into producing food for the rest of us and I just want to say for myself thank you and God bless you for being willing to continue to raise food for people to buy at the market, etc. I live in the Midwest and we have not had a lot of rain, especially different parts of the state of Iowa. I am from Cedar Rapids and we had another unusual storm move in Friday night before dark and it came in fast for us, and lasted about as long as the sirens went off, but I was shocked this morning as I was traveling through Cedar Rapids to see once again, whole trees uprooted from the roots or just the base of the tree and on the ground. Many people & businesses have not recovered from the derecho storm three years ago, when we lost about 75% of our green belt I was really sad to see the destruction of our trees once again from a storm!! If anybody read this, please pray for the people in the Midwest, because we do get a lot of tornadoes or “swirl-type of storms & so much damage is done in tornadoes in a short amount of time. Anyway, I love your website Pete and Hillary and I thank you for all you do to make this world a better place because of the food you raise, but also providing humor and education to your followers.❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️ ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
We moved our flock late at night, 11 or 12 ish because they would be really sound asleep, no flapping, just quietly int banana boxes cuddled together with lid set on. Stack the boxes in wheel barrow and put boxes in rolling hen house & take off lids.Done quietly and I think they just woke up as sunrise approached and jumped out of the boxes. We learned this method from a neighbor who took live birds to sales. It helped us because we had hideous allergies that chicken dust could cause to blow up. The morning after our moves I just picked up the boxes and dragged them to be burned. And your runaway hen shows up at 13:00 while you and Hil" chat. She wants back in the hen house rite now!
Yes I agree that catching chickens at night is much easier. Much less stressful on the hens. We used crates to sell year old layers for other small farmers to moult and use another year.
I don't know what bring a bigger smile to my face, when you release the chickens from the eggmobile in the morning, or the summer release of the cows and the ensuing battles!
I enjoy your video’s. I grew up in northern NJ and am familiar with your area. I’ve lived in Minnesota for 43 years, so it’s fun to watch your farm channel
Well, we don't have near what you have, but we have a quite a bit more than we really wanted. I like what you did with the hen house/trailer. Enjoyed watching, thanks Pete! I hope you have a wonderful day!
Love to see you guys in the field helping each other and your videos are so informative and peaceful. I love the cows, chickens and pigs, and the tractors. You show us all what a great work ethic looks like in a calm way. God bless you guys.
Great to see the kids Pete. Always enjoy your videos. My wife and I love to wind down at the end of a long day, and relax and enjoy seeing your life on the farm. Thanks for sharing and for always being such a gentleman.
If you love them, set them free - we have great kids, 15 to 23. All different. All had times where we kicked off. Always love them, they have become my friemds simply because I never tried to "be their friend" Best to you x
No doubt the kids are growing up. Henry looks like he's grown a foot and a half since I first started following you. My that Super C is a pretty tractor!
Yeah, our kids moved out, well a piece at a time during college, about 10 years ago (holy cow! I just realized how long it's been!!) and we did miss them but, it really is a new chapter that you/we will/have enjoy(ed). Hopefully, a few years afterward, you will be like my Pawpaw and have grandkids excited to run out to see if there are any eggs in the boxes, to ride on the tractor... I have so many memories being on the farm with Memaw and Pawpaw. They were two people way ahead of their time, but that's another story.
Another great episode. I just love these. I found myself with many questions about the egg mibile, the hows and the whys and how it came to be and lo and behold eventually you answer every question. That's what I love about your channel, when I have questions the answers are forthcoming, it never fails. Thanks again for putting a large piece of your life out there for all of us to see and enjoy.
Every farm, that have chickens, should have a swimming pool net with a long pole, to catch🤔 them those runaway hens I can't wait, to see which farm on RUclips . Will be the first one to use it not expensive, to get at the swimming pool supply 🥳
Pete, Looks like Henry is doing well learning farm. He's getting ready to take over the farm for the next generation of your family. He'll do very we when it's his turn!
Thanks family for providing us all with a Farm family friendly content about the daily and annual routines as always you make the content informative and entertaining easy watching 👍🏾
Hello to your whole family. Love your method of moving the hens. We too have the advantage of home-grown eggs here in Smithfield, RI. Our daughter owns @ 12 hens only. Keeps our family and friend with great eggs. We do pay less than stores are charging, usually $4 a dozen. Great eggs with mostly larger golden yolks! Be well and enjoy the summer. 🥰🥚🥚🥚
The Great Chicken Challenge! Getting them moved w/o escapees. The kids sure are growing up fast. Congrats on the rain, happy pasture grass, happy cows.
Pete, new commenter! My wife is from Moravia ! We're homesteading in Alaska now and we make alot on our chickens and ducks! But egg sales might cover feed costs,,, $30.00 50Lbs.... We make our money incubating eggs... Bard Rock, New Hampshire Reds, Rhode Island Red, Australorps,,, then a two duck breeds, Khaki Campbell, and Welsh Harliquin,,, many can't eat chicken eggs and even I like duck eggs better... Farmall tractors have a very special place in my heart... Had a BN on the farm.. only tractor that always started! Rest were John Deere... You should go ad that one to your collection...
To think I’ve been wanting to get some chickens . Watching all the work in raising and maintaining such a process is huge. I guess it’s depending on how many a person wants to work with. Much love to you and your family. God bless you all.
In Indiana where I live, we we had no significant rain for about 6 weeks. But in the past week, we have had 1.5” rain, with more in the forecast. We are certainly happy to have it.
It is always a pleasure watching your videos. I love how the family comes together to get work done. Treating them to dinner is well deserved. (Let them choose the restaurant 😅).
So nice to see your kids around to help out.. I really miss ours being around but they are all taking the journey of their own with their own kids and we have been on our own now for the last 15 years and getting used to doing our own thing, they are as well.
Another job done. Glad to see you are getting the rain. Its getting stressful here in north central Illinois. Weatherman says storms, high winds, possible hail and the clouds roll in and all we have had is a few sprinkles.
I’ve been missing your dad jokes bring them back
Sorry, I got tired of the terrible jokes. I try to be funny in other ways, more or less successfully.
@@JustaFewAcresFarmbring the jokes back please! 🙏
They are not terrible they are “Dad” jokes and your viewers love when you let them fly in that uncomfortable funny as heck old dad fashion .
Pete plse give us the dad jokes segment..😂😂😂😂 n the kids are back woohhooo!
Ok ok, I'll give one a try in the next video.
You are one of the best "tractor backer uppers with 4-wheel trailers" I have ever seen!
Watching one of your videos puts me in good mood for the entire day Pete. Take care you guys!
Me too.😊
Not enough people appreciate all the hard work that goes into producing food. Thanks Pete and family.
Stay safe.
It's cool to see Henry warming up to the camera, and revealing his personality.
It always nice to see when your children help out. They all seem to grow so fast. Thanks for sharing.
Boy that Ole super C runs so dam good Pete you did a great job with that restoration
Love the chickens. Henry was watching closely to see if any hens hurt. It was great watching him have a heart instead of tossing them around. Have a great 4th of July.
Like clockwork - 10pm in Australia and a Just a few Acres vid drops. Thank you.
Love the moving of the chickens. Kids are growing up, Henry has your humor.

Pete you are the Pied Piper of cattle, pigs and chickens. ❤ Make sure feed them workers well.
It’s great to see the entire family pitching in and with the right attitude.
I hope Grace and Henry get the farming bug and are helping you for years to come, y’all are one awesome looking family when working together!
That's a great farm, man!! I always had dreams of having a farm like this myself !!
"I'll miss the help"....spoken like a true farmer!!! Love It!!!
No doubt the kids are growing up. Henry looks like he's grown a foot and a half since I first started following you. My that Super C is a pretty tractor!
"You guys are going to a better place" sounds ominous. Then again chicken is delicious.
Here we see the ultimate hen party! 🐔🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 at, The Few Acres Farm.
@justafewacresfarm when I move mine I use corn crib tunnels. I place them end to end from one bldg to another..easy to count and no escapees😂😂

Always my pleasure to spend any time with you and your family . Thank you .God Bless
I always enjoy watching you folks transfer the chickens from the coop to the field. You never know what's going to happen...lol...
Every farm, that have chickens, should have a swimming pool net with a long pole, to catch🤔 them those runaway hens
I can't wait, to see which farm on RUclips . Will be the first one to use it not expensive, to get at the swimming pool supply 🥳
You might want to use a French cleat on the nesting boxes so you don’t have to screw/unscrew each time you want to move them.
Moving day. Fun to watch but lotsa work for you. Thanks for taking us along.
Nice to see the family out there working together and getting the job done.
Funny. Henry looks like Mam, and the daugther like Peter
Lol. I'm not the only one that carries a sweat towel on the tractor this time of year. It's always nice to see the birds out on pasture.
Great great stuff today. I'm always happy to see the family working together. Wild fires in Canada having a big impact here in MI
So awesome to see a family working together keep up the great work and videos Pete thanks for sharing.
Egg quality will be excellent when hens are raised in your pasture.
Pete, Looks like Henry is doing well learning farm. He's getting ready to take over the farm for the next generation of your family. He'll do very we when it's his turn!
Pete you have a very well planed out system for your laying hens. 👍
🐔🐔 🐔 🐔 🐔 🐔 🐔 🐔 🐔 🐔 🐔 it's so much fun watching you chicken wranglers move the birds into the chickenmobile for the trip out to the field!
This proves that family farming is alive and well, thanks for taking all of us on this adventure of the titanic fowl mobile!
On a windy day, a good dad joke is “boy, I’m blown away with how windy it is.” You are free to use that in a video
I look forward to my kids being old enough to help. Good job raising them, Pete!

It is different once the kids leave for sure. Great video guys
The Great Chicken Challenge! Getting them moved w/o escapees. The kids sure are growing up fast. Congrats on the rain, happy pasture grass, happy cows.
Yes we'd love a little of that rain here in Wisconsin, we've had less than a 1/2 in in over a month. Extremely dry!
Enjoying your videos is the best way to recover from summer overwhelm here in TN. Waiting on a long enough dry spell to cut hay!
I would have asked for a ice cream cone, but going out to eat is even better.

Good morning Pete, nice to see you and family again. What could be better than farm and family?
Love to see the chickens, thought we were going to get some jokes with y'all sitting by the grill again.
Rubbing is racing Pete,,go for it.
You should make a tunnel from chicken coop to trailer , few days before ,in final day you need just push them ❤
So nice to see your kids around to help out.. I really miss ours being around but they are all taking the journey of their own with their own kids and we have been on our own now for the last 15 years and getting used to doing our own thing, they are as well.
Have had a little experience with chickens and you have a great system with great helpers in handling a large flock! Thanks for sharing great ideas!
Another job done. Glad to see you are getting the rain. Its getting stressful here in north central Illinois. Weatherman says storms, high winds, possible hail and the clouds roll in and all we have had is a few sprinkles.

omg thats so true even parents have no idea how old the kids are :)
You guys are great. Thanks for your work!
Cool tradition with the family
Such a sweet family. Thanks for sharing Pete.
We live in Scotland, and rain is a major player here. It was ssid a few years ago that the UK's main produce would be grass..😂
