I cant believe Jeep is struggling so much being such an off roading vehicle. Surprise to me is Seltos. I thought Seltos doesn't stand a chance but it did pretty well compared to expectations. Nexon is the all rounder and i had expected that. This little piece of powerhouse is incredibly impressive and right on money.
We get the cheapest model available in Jeep's portfolio and that too a monocoque chassis one. If you take that too with a 2wd then it is no different than a Seltos. Jeep name won't make it more "off-road" than any other crossover
Nexon chasis is so apt for 4x4 capabilities. In 2 wheel mode it is doing so well, 4x4 it will kill everything. Hope TATA in future make it 4x4 with a 4 cylinder engine and that will be all.
This is called real life review and comparison. All of these SUVs performed almost same regardless of their sizes or fame. As a customer, if I buy a smaller SUV, it doesn't mean that I am intended to spend my money on a sub-standard product what we were offered until launch of Indian brands like Nexon, XUV300 or Punch. Now, Tatas should consider full featured 4×4 Nexon through a facelift opional variant.
Also Tata already borrowed chassis from Land Rover, and can't develop a seperate AWD for their cars as no one buys it. And it will fail as well given Tata reliability
It all depends on driver’s ability to handle off roading too. Have seen people failing miserably with Fortuners and Endavours too while handling off road patches and sometimes cars like alto can look like performing better as it all depends on driver’s ability to manoeuvre the car. Same is the case with Nexon here. The driver was so composed and he was not rushing into the obstacles. In off roading, it is ASAP (as slow as possible) contrary to our English dictionary meaning. And here we saw car like Jeep with a powerful engine struggling to handle off roads.
Nexon is a Compact SUV, it doesnt even come under this category, but still performed superb. Nexon should be compared with Brezza, Venue, Seltos, Elevate
Where are those who doubt nexon being a Compact SUV? Even xuv500 struggles infront of just FWD nexon and that jeep compass 🤦♂️. The ESP of Tata shows how it can perform with just FWD. Imagine if they provide AWD.
Your logic is very flawed sadly. Both Nexon and XUV 500 are fwd, but their weight difference is MASSIVE. You could give a height increase to a Santro or Alto and watch it compete with Nexon with all it's 800Kgs of weight😂.
@@shahan484 no matter how you want to put down nexon, it has proved in the video, just look at the wheel articulation of nexon, it climbed in a relax manner with minimal wheelspin because its weight distribution and ESP does the job pretty well, try with your alto, it will wheelspin like crazy and it will get stuck, and i know alto as it was my first car long time ago and i have got stuck many times. And nexon too is a heavy car for its size.

And the Alto bit, I go to hill stations 2 times every year and seen Alto perform better than my RWD Scorpio. Still if i were to buy into Nexon segment, I'll buy Nexon no doubt.

No xuv500 is not 2 metric tons, it weights at 1845 kg that is 600kg more than a petrol nexon which is 1250kg as mentioned in its registration certificate.

But you can't find many Indian brands running internationally whereas Chinese cars are conquering the market. Probably due to bad safety rating. You can hardly find any successful Indian brands running in the Middle East.

Jeep was honestly let down by its tires and suspension. The tires are very road biased and lose traction at the slightest provocation. The suspension of the Jeep is also a bit too stiff for such terrain leading to the bouncing and it being unable to put down power.
It's totally the Bridgestone all season tires not really suited for this terrain. Now the question is was this the 4*4 model or 4*2 and which drive mode was it on? auto/sand

Nexon has GC of 209mm and endeavour has that of 225mm, point is that Nexon has a very very good GC! It's a surprisingly good car with one of the best safety among it's rivals in this video, one of the cheapest and best all rounder

i think the fault is on jeep driver side ... otherwise go search on yt jeep 4*2 off road there you find a off road video of jeep base model that is sport with fortuner 4*4 side by side (not a comparison) there they were showing how capable jeep 4*2 is ,even with its base sport model ....bro trust me that off road patch is way more inclined and difficult than this one

Hi, The best way would be to try it in the real world. But I wouldn't doubt it too much as the Petrol DCT has more power, similar torque and gets the rough road modes. The Diesel Seltos performed better in the Sand mode. The only deal breaker could be the initial hesitancy of the DCT.

Driver was very slow but then it climed so comfortably with right pace. That ground clearance was best among all.
