Nairo is the reason i tried zelda out. i was not disappointed after learning a little bit with her those problem characters for me (mega man, ganondorf, sonic) have become a little easier. she may become one of my mains. thanks Nairo ^^
I can understand why Zelda is such a low tier, but everyone I've played against has to keep on their toes when I play with her. I've gotten lot's of kills and wins with her. She's honestly not that difficult to play with. I've stuck with her since melee. She's honestly a lot more powerful in Sm4sh than she was in melee or brawl. Once you get used to her moves and her character, it becomes second nature.
"Getting the sweetspot on Zeldas kick is so hard". U wot m8? Its so damn much easier than it was in Brawl. The only requirement in Smash Wii U is pretty much being right in the opponents face, and maybe, just maybe, a little more centered. Not nearly as hard as before.
Not really, it's just not his playstyle. He is, as the announcers like to say, more a "see what the enemy does and punish that" kind of person, mostly with grabs/dashes, depending on whether the enemy shields or rolls more. Only difference is Robin, really, and even with Robins crap grabrange he grabs more than anyone would believe. Also, why go for the sweetspot when you can simply "take them on the elevator"?
Shiki Ren That makes no sense considering they shrunk the hitbox for the lightning kick from melee to brawl, and they kept it exactly the same size between brawl and Smash 4. And that's definitely NOT how you successfully do the lightning kick. Unlike Falcons knee, there is a spacing requirement that requires significant spacing between the opponent and Zelda. It has nothing to do with where you land the kick either. Being in the opponent's face is an almost guaranteed miss. The only reason it is easier to pull the kick off in Smash 4 than it was in brawl is because of the increased mobility, but considering everyone was boosted, it is only really noticeable at lower levels of play, whereas at higher levels of play this boost is negligible.
I remember this helped me pick my main well over a year ago. At the time I thought this was godly and I suppose it was. But nowadays this is common stuff for Zelda mains. Regardless , Nairo's fundamentals is a gap that would be hard to catch up with.
For anyone still watching this video today as Mario, do not play like this. Mario has the advantage and should have been rushing down Zelda. They would have traded a few times but Mario would have won most of them.
+Mr YuJoo I would consider mario a DIRECT counter, over b during the din, repels the damage, and he never even down smashed once?? down b is useless unless you have a custom version of it as well.
+mariofan1ish I think its because dins fire isnt a projectile but an área of effect, similar to palutena`s explosión flame, or the invisible bomb from the mii gunner.
ayar2 Actually, after several cases online, I can confirm that Din's Failure CAN be stopped by the cape. It won't return, but it DOES cause it to detonate without doing damage. It might hurt Zelda if she's close enough... but you shouldn't be using Din's Fire at that range.
Art forLife According to the people I talk to, it's an issue of being big, light and slow, as well as needing precision to capitalize on her moves. And before Smash 4, a good number of her moves had horrible end-lag. Zelda's undeniably at her best in Smash 4, and we have people like Nairo to thank for proving that.
You guys are so defensive. Don't ruin this game. If that Mario would've rushed down Zelda, he would have won. But in defensive play, certain characters are bad at it, which is why characters like GameWatch are looked down on, because as a Mario/Gamewatch main, Game&Watch's playstyle revolves around mindgames, pressure, and rushing down you opponent, same for Mario. Dont be afraid to actually fight and have an interesting match. (these matches are boring.)
Jason McGraw She is extremely offensive if you want her to be. She can literally be in your face with grabs and juggles. Then if somebody gets too close you Narus love out of it. I main her too and I rush people down hard with her. Plus her ledge guarding is beautiful :')
+WeActOnImpulse Official Because its not *popular* to play with zelda and the smash community, just like high schooler prefers to just go along with what everyone else does instead of trying things out for themselves.

I love nairo to using zelda
Nairo is the reason i tried zelda out. i was not disappointed after learning a little bit with her those problem characters for me (mega man, ganondorf, sonic) have become a little easier. she may become one of my mains. thanks Nairo ^^
You can reflect Zelda's phantom attack with the cape. Makes for one of the most badass counters in the game imo. Just looks and feels awesome.
If Zelda is spaced out tho, she can reflect it AGAIN making the phantom a 1 hit kill move, which the Mario tried to avoid.
As a Zelda main I am glad to see this performance
Holy shit!!! A Zelda who actually fights!! Instead of hugging the corner and spamming Dins Fire and Teleportation. Im shocked!!!!
The struggle is REAL with Mario.

Zelda players unite!
+Keyoka zelda main here cx
also main. although i win a lot with her she is not that good... but i love her!
Yess Zelda queen
Her lightning kicks were stronger in brawl.

Its still pretty hard, otherwise nairo would get it consistently.
Not really, it's just not his playstyle. I found it easier to hit in Melee and very easy in Project M. In Smash 4 i'm so inconsistent with my fairs and bairs :[
Daniel Obregon Opposite for me, i have more trouble not landing the sweetspot to demonstrate the differnece than hitting it in Sm4sh X)

+Mr YuJoo Just saw second round, a couple down smashes. he did better, but still terrible.
It would be so amazing if Mario was able to cape Din's Fire and return it to Zelda.
***** He CAN cape the Phantom for some reason, while Din's Fire seems to be mostly unstoppable without a block.
+mariofan1ish I think its because dins fire isnt a projectile but an área of effect, similar to palutena`s explosión flame, or the invisible bomb from the mii gunner.

I've been maining Zelda/Shiek and eventually Zelda since Melee, I don't know why she's in such a low tier. I kill everyone.

Yea what you say is true. Being able to predict my opponent makes a big difference when I'm using her.
You guys are so defensive. Don't ruin this game.

As a Zelda player myself, please please please come at me with offense. Mmm, I'll eat it up.

So, you're butthurt that Mario lost lol.
Bleedingme1000 Finally someone who understands Zelda's awesome-ness!
Pizza Land She is awesome c:
I did that too watch feebee gaming Mario vs Zelda and zelda won
I'm actually this competitive with Zelda. I'm on 3ds
On 3ds? Not a good medium to pay zelda, people can put a tag on you to track you when you teleport
i'M GOOD WITH MY TELEPORTS. AND I'M ON 3DS
koko6041626I always do that when I find a Zelda/Greninja
#zeldaismyhomegirl
Even though he still not pro with her and SHE DOES NOT PLAY DIRTY!!
why does nobody else play zelda?
+WeActOnImpulse Official Because its not *popular* to play with zelda and the smash community, just like high schooler prefers to just go along with what everyone else does instead of trying things out for themselves.
TheLittleMerwolf Oh so like zipf theory i got you

Mario can never defeat Princess Zelda. She's far more powerful than he is.
