That's all wonderful. But, doctor, why is your skin in such bad shape? What's wrong with your eyes? Why are they so inflamed? Are you sick or do you drink a lot of alcohol? What's wrong with your hair, your style? Maybe you should start using what you're talking about and make yourself look good ?

I use the CeraVe PM morning and evening. Hyaluronic acid supplements twice a day. Paula's 2% BHA in the evening and ALPHA 14% AHA in the morning. I also use Pacifica Granactive Retinoid .05% every evening - previously used Paula's 1% Retinol, but this stuff is much stronger. Additionally, I use the following Paula's products - 20% Niacinamide in the morning, and twice a day - Collagen peptide booster, and ultra-light serum with hyaluronic acid. Sunscreen is Vanicream SPF 50. Been using this stuff for decades and don't have wrinkle - at 70. Started with ALPHA 8% retinol when they introduced this product in 1994. Went to 10, 12, and 14 percent as they were introduced. Primarily use Paula's products - science based, good quality, mid pricing.

No, that's not true, imo. Probably a myth that we
s/n mix types of acids on our skin.
I use Oumere skin products - best I've ever used. Oumere's exfolient, that I use at night, is a mix of various different types of acids. - all plant-based, organic sources.
Best exfoliant I've ever used, Oumere, and I've tried plenty different brands.
Oumere's exfoliant ( named No. 9) has been excellent at keeping any growths and 'age spots' at bay. When I 1st began using it, it completely dissolved two small growths I had on my face.
I did stop using Oumere for a bit, as it's very pricey.
So, In its place - the exfoliants I used were Paula's choice, then tried one fm Obagi, as well as The Ordinary.
But, nope(!) the growths that Oumere's exfoliant dissolved- came raging back even with high end Obagi; mid-px Paula's Choice - The Ordinary, that alot of people swear by - but these growths returned and seemed destined to stay...until I began my Oumere regimen again - and again, they disappeared.
But, again - Oumere's No.9 exfoliant has a mix of several types of acids in it AHA's & BHA's from several different plant sources.
So, imo, it's untrue that we shouldn't be mixing different types acids on our skin @ same time or in the same day.😊
(However...this is not to say that YMMV. Everyone is different - it's possible that someone with very sensitive skin shouldn't mix types of acids for their skin, but maybe should alternate as you've suggested.
But I do think that generally speaking - for most skin types - mixing acid types or using BHA, then AHA in the same day should not present a problem.)
      (Jmo)

I follow a few dermatologists on this platform and they generally advise against combining too many exfoliants/actives (such as BHAs, AHAs and retinoids) in the same day, as it can disrupt the skin barrier and lead to irritation. I do use tretinoin 0.05 , formulated with niacinamide 4% and 4% azelaic acid about 3 times a week and a salicylic acid (BHA) cleanser on the days I'm not using a retinoid. I'd be wary of using both on the same day, but I am prone to skin sensitivity and appreciate it might not be the case for everyone.

Instead, find a retinoid serum that uses both non-irritating vitamin-A retinoid and retinoid-like plant ingredients, if you have sensitive skin. I have very sensitive skin too and I have incorporated a youth activating essence to soothe any irritation (if any) whenever a new product I am trying is too harsh for my skin and I found that it really helps. I am currently using a retinoid serum from Invity, and I find it does not irritate my skin at all. And it did not break my bank either.

Thx for the good advice! I do some of these already and maybe I will try the moisturizer next. The BEST skin supplement I encountered just recently is high-dose panthotenic acid (Vit. B5), taken orally. I do not know whether it helps with sking aging, but it completely cleared my skin. Haven't had a single pimple since I started taking it one or two months ago, even after days of alcohol consumption or bad nutrition, which usually caused me outbreaks. Maybe Brad you can look into panthotenic acid? I have not found many studies about it and basically just thought it is worth a shot after seeing it on RUclips for treatment of acne. Honestly, I think it works just as well for this purpose as the birth control pill or oral isotretinoin, hopefully without the side effects. Wish I had known that when I was a teen. I take a capsule of 500 mg daily. My skin went from borderline oily to normal. Maybe it even has more positive effects?

Acids would go first on skin after cleansing, then your moisturizer. On an alternate night, the retinoid (Tretinoin/Adapalene) would follow cleansing and then moisturizer. If you're new to retinoids, it can help to decrease irritation by "sandwiching" it between two layers of moisturizer or applying it after moisturizer. So the sandwich routine would be: cleanse, moisturizer, retinoid, moisturizer. This buffers the ingredient and decreases its potency until your skin has adjusted and can tolerate it directly applied after cleansing. Also, if you're using any serums, those would go first on skin before any cream-based formulations.

never heard of that, who speaks up on that, or did you read somewhere. I'm actually so sus of this synthetic tretinoin. rather do simple retinol, our body would convert just as much of retinol as it needs rather than having already active form that would be much more aggressive I assume

A cheaper alternative to the La Roche-Posay sunscreen is the Cancer Council Sensitive Sunscreen SPF50+ with active ingredients: Zinc Oxide 5% w/w, Bemotrizinol 2.5% w/w, Methylene bis-benzotriazolyl tetramethylbutylphenol 2.5% w/w, 4-Methylbenzylidene Camphor 1% w/w

I see this available on Amz. BUT, seems impossible to view ingredient label there...
Went BIORE website, to view ingredients and yes it DOES reflect: Bisethylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyltriazine
BUT IS this the same molecule as 'bemotrizinol'?🤔
I have found that in Google - it IS the same molecule
But apparently it only absorbs UVA - not UVB.
So, I presume additional ingredients in this Biore SPF formula are there to protect against UVB ?

Thanks for the video! Long time subscriber. Maybe it’s a good idea to be more in depth about tretinoin application and potential downsides. Namely that certain optometrists seem to think it may damage the epithelial cells of meibomian glands, causing dry eyes.

@drBradStanfield Thank you for a great video. I am wondering though why GHK peptide didn't make it to this routine. I am 53 now and been addressing facial skin wrinkles with a product that has GHK-CU in it. Lots of improvement for myself and my gf. I am wondering though how to incorporate your recommendation(s) with my GHK based products. I am using Vitalli skincare products from the US. thank you! PS we do exercise on a daily basis as well :)
