It seems like they don't want to approve it until it's manufactured here in the states. You'd think that they would rather have our money spent in our own country rather than another one.
I follow a few dermatologists on this platform and they generally advise against combining too many exfoliants/actives (such as BHAs, AHAs and retinoids) in the same day, as it can disrupt the skin barrier and lead to irritation. I do use tretinoin 0.05 , formulated with niacinamide 4% and 4% azelaic acid about 3 times a week and a salicylic acid (BHA) cleanser on the days I'm not using a retinoid. I'd be wary of using both on the same day, but I am prone to skin sensitivity and appreciate it might not be the case for everyone.
True for most people not to mix retinoids with other actuve acids, personally though, I can use and have been using both in the same routine with no sensitivity as I have built skin resistance over the years. What you’ve said is good for most to heed
I'm well tolerated retinoids it gave me very good results .but now I get toxicated from using it on my face . It penetrates deep .I get headache and heavy eyes feel sick . I dnt know what can I replace it with . 😢
Instead, find a retinoid serum that uses both non-irritating vitamin-A retinoid and retinoid-like plant ingredients, if you have sensitive skin. I have very sensitive skin too and I have incorporated a youth activating essence to soothe any irritation (if any) whenever a new product I am trying is too harsh for my skin and I found that it really helps. I am currently using a retinoid serum from Invity, and I find it does not irritate my skin at all. And it did not break my bank either.

I haven’t heard it’s superior, but I think I heard a dermatologist on YT (can’t remember if it was Dr Dray or Dr Idriss) say they’re not sure they’d refer to it as a “retinol alternative”, so I don’t see how it could’ve superior to retinol. I’m not sure there have been enough studies or any evidence to claim it’s superior to retinol, either. I don’t think it’s been proven to be more effective than retinol.
The biggest mistake made is to think that facial aging is just collagen loss. Subcutaneous fat loss and bone loss are also very important. Subcutaneous fat is an important criterion that makes a person look young. Try not to lose subcutaneous fat.
1. Keep inflammation low, eat anti-inflammatory. 2. Protect skin from the sun. 3. Do not lose weight quickly and pay attention to falling estrogen after menopause. 4. There is research showing that linoleic and oleic acid increase adipogenesis, but I am not sure if topical use will work, maybe you can try it. 5. You can try volufilline. 6. Be careful with retinoids, this is why many people lose facial fat. 7. Be sure to take omega 3. 8. Manage your stress and try to stay happy. 9. Make sure you sleep very well. 10. Stay away from smoking and alcohol.
@@leakoch4459 If you search for tretinoin and facial fat loss, you will see a lot of user experiences of people losing facial fat because of tretinoin.
Colagen Peptides: should one take them before eating? Read that is better absorbed with an empty stomach. I personally take a fruit that provides vitamine C and collagen peptides after.
Acids would go first on skin after cleansing, then your moisturizer. On an alternate night, the retinoid (Tretinoin/Adapalene) would follow cleansing and then moisturizer. If you're new to retinoids, it can help to decrease irritation by "sandwiching" it between two layers of moisturizer or applying it after moisturizer. So the sandwich routine would be: cleanse, moisturizer, retinoid, moisturizer. This buffers the ingredient and decreases its potency until your skin has adjusted and can tolerate it directly applied after cleansing. Also, if you're using any serums, those would go first on skin before any cream-based formulations.
Thank you for your science & evidence based research and presentation. A quick question regarding Sunscreen. Does using a sunscreen negate the positive Vitamin D effects of Sun exposure?
Yes it does. You could get say under 10 mins of sun a day with no sunscreen, but if you are only using sunscreen on the face you should get enough sun exposure. I live in Australia, the skin cancer capital of the world. I recently was diagnosed with diabetes and I had extremely low Vitamin D. the sun burns here and I avoid it like the plague (I am a vampire) So I take D3 supplements with K2 vitamin instead of getting sun light. I don't want to go out in the sun.
Technically yes, as it blocks the The UlltraViolet UVA/UVB rays that the skin uses to synthesize the D3 But you still get the benefits from the other light spectrums eg Infrared
I am experimenting with mythalane blue cream and cbd oil cream with great results. Massage and facial exercise make a huge difference. Face acupuncture is really really good too.
Thanks for the information, a lot of it will be quite useful for many people. However, looking at the inflamed appearance of your skin in the video, I get the distinct impression that you are over-doing the retinol and exfoliating stuff.
Thanks for the video! Long time subscriber. Maybe it’s a good idea to be more in depth about tretinoin application and potential downsides. Namely that certain optometrists seem to think it may damage the epithelial cells of meibomian glands, causing dry eyes.
How come, you have never discussed Urolithin A and Peptide 24? You should also indicate in your videos what your conflict of interest is and who is paying you what.
Why make an accusation without proof? Also, it could be he has it planned for a future video. Anyway, I never heard any plastic surgeon or dermatologist speak about this product. Think you could have just asked status quo of this product. I Googled it and it sounds interesting. It was so simple to Google, and it gave me valuable information. In addition where to order it. Hmmm.
Chemical sunscreen always makes me break out, zinc oxide works perfectly for me and I just melt it in my hands (plus I'm swimming in places with small animals and safety studies aren't going to be 30+ years)
I have been gluten free and keto for over 10 yrs. I use no sun screen and I live in the South. I'm outside a lot. I've seen no change in my skin - it looks just as young as it did. It's about diet, not slathering chemicals on yourself.
diet alone can't undo the damage from UV radiation. Its ionizing radiation. There are numerous non chemical (zinc or titanium dioxide) formulations if you prefer, that don't absorb at all into the skin.
you do realize that skin damage happens OVER TIME? obviously you can be outside a lot and be fine w.o sunscreen, but thats why you see older people who have bad skin damage. yes diet is important but it is ignorant to say that sunscreen does nothing or to write it off because you currently can't see the damage.
To protect your face and neck from the sun 100% wear an opaque plastic sun visor or leather or vinyl cowboy hat and go out between noon and two P.M. when the the sun's directly above and don't look up into the sun.
Thank you for great content! Did you mean bemotrizol? When should I put the night Cream with Hyaluronic Acid and Niacinamide, is it before or after applying retinol/lactic acid & glycolic acid? Thanks!
Thanks for great tips! Can you do a video on skin cleansers, or recommend one? I find that foaming cleansers are too drying on my skin after using tretinoin for more than a year.
I can't stop thinking about the people who participate in these studies and see a scientifically proven improvement in their skin, is there anyone who has experienced it and is around here?
I recently switched to cheap high dose pharmaceutical multivitamins. For some reason, the market is flooded with trendy multivitamin brands that sell expensive low dose pills.
Clouds or glass don’t block UVA, only UVB (which causes redness and burn). Remember: wherever you see sunlight, UVA is there. And it damages DNA and collagen. So if it’s daytime, wear sunscreen!
Dear doctor, I greet you from Spain. What contrasted studies are there on the benefits of skin treatment with the LED masks that are in fashion? Thank you so much

Cerave has recently begun selling their products in China. This means that they now test on animals, because China REQUIRES that any company that wishes to sell in their country do this
Who cares
Can you please do a video on red light therapy?
Why? He’s not expert in red therapy. Are in de internet experts in this.
@@jujuba9277
Only 'experts' can attest to RLT on YT? Hehe, tell that to all those here who DO😊
Dr. Brad is not an 'expert' on alot of subjects, but he's excellent at reading & deciphering RCT's on (any) subject and that's all that's really needed, imo.
(Jmo, btw)😊
Thanks a ton doc for your research! ❤
What are your thoughts on face exercises to help tighten saggy skin and smooth out wrinkles?
I love that sunscreen, I'll get the moisturiser today, thanks for sharing what products you use
Great video! Thank you. I will follow your suggestions because are backed by science.
What's your thoughts on a natural plant extract, bakuchiol? Many claim it is superior to retinol
Yeah from what I understand, it doesn't offer the same long-term, collagen/elastin building effects of retinoids.
Awesome. And if anyone wonders, Niacinamide is nicotinamide, both names are just used.
So comprehensive, great video.
You do look very healthy, beautiful glowing skin
The biggest mistake made is to think that facial aging is just collagen loss. Subcutaneous fat loss and bone loss are also very important. Subcutaneous fat is an important criterion that makes a person look young. Try not to lose subcutaneous fat.
What's the best way to do that?
@@nik2047eat fat, Avacados, cheese, coconut oil, grass fed butter
@user-ec7nv7ny8g
I thought tretinoin prevents facial fat loss?
@@leakoch4459 If you search for tretinoin and facial fat loss, you will see a lot of user experiences of people losing facial fat because of tretinoin.
Thank you, Dr Brad!
Colagen Peptides: should one take them before eating? Read that is better absorbed with an empty stomach. I personally take a fruit that provides vitamine C and collagen peptides after.
What do you think about astaxanthin?
Excellent video and advice. I feel better about the safety of sunscreen now too.
Sleep also play very important role for repairing body.
Excellent straight forward information! Can you please do a video on organic castor oil on skin health? Thanks!
Dr. Brad you should also tell us in which order to apply the acids, retinol and moisturizer.
There are many specialists teaching this in detail on RUclips. I like Dr Dray, a dermatologist, and Cassandra Bankson, an esthetician
Kevin mann from haircafe did a video on collagen peptides and said they were placebo. Hes pretty well read on research as well
This is alot of work to try to look good!
Loreal revitalift has definitely made my skin look younger and I also take resveratrol and nda1500
Any idea where to get Hyaluronic Acid supplements in the UK? I can’t find any! Especially at 200mg. Any help would be appreciated.
I recently was diagnosed with diabetes and I had extremely low Vitamin D. the sun burns here and I avoid it like the plague (I am a vampire)
So I take D3 supplements with K2 vitamin instead of getting sun light. I don't want to go out in the sun.
Technically yes, as it blocks the The UlltraViolet UVA/UVB rays that the skin uses to synthesize the D3
But you still get the benefits from the other light spectrums eg Infrared
I am experimenting with mythalane blue cream and cbd oil cream with great results. Massage and facial exercise make a huge difference. Face acupuncture is really really good too.
How do you use it ? & how often
Like your content and would appreciate if there's timestamp or a summary to allow important points to be taken.
He’s so innocent he doesn’t realize how funny it is that he keeps advertising the micro vitamin
Thanks for the information, a lot of it will be quite useful for many people.
However, looking at the inflamed appearance of your skin in the video, I get the distinct impression that you are over-doing the retinol and exfoliating stuff.
Retinds at night on alternate day
Sun screen with ceramide
Hyaluronic acid on wet face in the morning before applying sun block
thanks for sharing these interrestings informations based on science !
Thanks for the video! Long time subscriber. Maybe it’s a good idea to be more in depth about tretinoin application and potential downsides. Namely that certain optometrists seem to think it may damage the epithelial cells of meibomian glands, causing dry eyes.
Thanks for the Good info bro ❤
Great vid, face wash recommendation? I hate sunscreens but will have to go back to them, cheers
Thank you Doctor!
Five yrs in and loving my skin.
How come, you have never discussed Urolithin A and Peptide 24? You should also indicate in your videos what your conflict of interest is and who is paying you what.
There is no indication anyone pays him anything.
Hmmm.
Nestlé owns the patent rights to Urolithin A IIRC
Very informative video. Thank you. What about bakuchiol instead of retinol?
Chemical sunscreen always makes me break out, zinc oxide works perfectly for me and I just melt it in my hands (plus I'm swimming in places with small animals and safety studies aren't going to be 30+ years)
It makes me look white and ill though
Great video doc
Do you have recommendations for collagen peptides? Thanks !
I have been gluten free and keto for over 10 yrs. I use no sun screen and I live in the South. I'm outside a lot. I've seen no change in my skin - it looks just as young as it did. It's about diet, not slathering chemicals on yourself.
agree. diet is everything, particularly avoiding seed oils.
There are Manu factors: genetics, hidratation, health condition, skin type etc.
Many"
diet alone can't undo the damage from UV radiation.
I imagine if skin cells are more healthy then the cells in our organs are getting more healthy too.
I believe It's more a case of outside - in.
Our exterior is a reflection of what's happening inside our body. No?
I think that this should be one factor to consider
Thank you for great content!
Did you mean bemotrizol?
When should I put the night Cream with Hyaluronic Acid and Niacinamide, is it before or after applying retinol/lactic acid & glycolic acid?
Thanks!
Great tips, thank you! I'll laugh if anyone says they follow your regime while still smoking and/or drinking alcohol regularly.
Another amazing video.. thank you!
Got all those bases covered. Any thoughts about red light therapy?
I’m in my kitchen jumping . I’m so glad me both use the same spf . I use the tinted one . Love ur videos . Newbie situation
The easiest way to prove that sunscreen is must is compare the skin on face and arms vs the skin on buttocks :D
Do you use both of the Paula's choice exfoliates together?
Retinol can be highly effective at improving the look of skin but should be avoided while pregnant
Ceramide powder solution is worth using? They are really expensive
Dr. Stanfield, I wish you’d make a video demonstrating how you mix retinol with Paula’s choice BHA and AHA.
There was no mention of topical vitamin C, would you still recommend this?
sure
How cool, my sunscreen is from Japan and it has that ingredient 😅

Is it avail to buy in the U.S - or from U.S. , online?
Would love to know. And, if so...the brand name - ?
Thanks for great tips! Can you do a video on skin cleansers, or recommend one? I find that foaming cleansers are too drying on my skin after using tretinoin for more than a year.
I can't stop thinking about the people who participate in these studies and see a scientifically proven improvement in their skin, is there anyone who has experienced it and is around here?
Really good video. As usual!
$49 for a low dose Multivitamin 😂😂😂
I recently switched to cheap high dose pharmaceutical multivitamins. For some reason, the market is flooded with trendy multivitamin brands that sell expensive low dose pills.
The Collagen link isn't working. What brand are you using?
I work outside for my job (3-4 hours a day) I always use sunscreen on Sunny days .. but should I be using it on Shaddy days also?
Yes. Especially on shady days. The worst exposure is shady days because you don’t feel the sun.
I think of thick overcast skies as proving a SPF of about 3.
@@felixmay6443The UV index is probably low on cloudy days. I think that’s what matters
If it has day in the name, sunscreen should be used. So yes, for most, use it.
