    Did i just see you change white text to Registration (Not Black) 😢

      @UtsavChaudhury Год назад +1

      What does registration mean? Because I usually make the same mistake of just choosing registration. Can you please help?

    • @andrewfoskett2527
      @andrewfoskett2527 Год назад +5

      @@UtsavChaudhury it means your laying down all the colours CMYK so that the printer can use them as registration for plate. So if you use it in the text you will all colours on top of each other. It will result in a blurry text if the paper is not spot on. Hope that makes sense.

      @@andrewfoskett2527 yeah thanks dude. Just as a follow-up question. Selecting true black will resolve that issue?

      @@UtsavChaudhury yes mate. Only use registration if your pointing something out to the printers in the bleed Area. Like a fold mark etc.

    THANK YOU so much for using letter size paper, setting margins, and showing me how to keep this simple. I wasted most of the morning with an A4 template of a brochure that was just a headache. Now I can make it from scratch!

    FANTASTIC tutorial. Straight to the point, no needless talking, great pacing and amazing explanations. Love the great quality mic too; there's a lot of tutorials out there that are painful to listen to.
    I was also able to watch your design and follow along while adding my own design elements and information while still making it look good.
    Thanks a ton!

    Hello everyone,
    For those of us who are newbies and notice that our pages are standing vertically but not quite aligned correctly at the start, and if we prefer our page layout in InDesign to be stacked rather than side by side, simply deselect the 'facing pages' option. You can find this option by clicking on 'file' and then 'document setup.' This adjustment will ensure that your pages are properly aligned.
    It's worth noting that InDesign's facing pages feature is primarily used for documents such as books and magazines, where pages are viewed together in spreads for layout purposes.

    I really appreciate this video and your time creating it. It's been several years since I had to create a brochure in one of my graphics design classes. I now have a job in which I use InDesign to publish a monthly newsletter. I made a template for the Newsletter with all of the settings and just change the content every month. So basically, I was somewhat relaxed and comfortable. Today, I was asked to create a company brochure and I forgot how to setup the page order, bleeds, and folds. This video was a life saver, literally! So thanks again for the great content. #2thumbsUp

    The guides would be slightly different though and not exactly made into thirds as the right panel (when opened) would be shorter in size, right?

    • @lyh_studio

      It depends on the thickness of the paper/stock you use. For regular paper, having it in the same size will work perfectly :)

    You need to account for the 1/16" short folds on the front and back otherwise when this goes to the printer the prepress dept will have to move things.

    Guys, note that if you make it to fold inwards, the right column should be slightly narrower than the others. This is so you can fold it in without it colliding with the other fold. Too bad InDesign doesn't seem to have an option for adjusting the guides that way. The viewing order would also be different. It doesn't matter if you're gonna fold it in a zig-zag though.

    Nice Video. Thanks.
    Ps: NEVER USE REGISTRATION BLACK FOR TEXT OR DESIGN!
    Registration black is used only for registration/ trim/ crop marks it should never be used for a text or design elements. Its 100% each of CMYK colors. If printed as design or text- will be too heavy as it takes too much ink and will cause various issues when printing.
