Great video. After simple rinsing the best way to clean diffusion stones is the boil them in distilled or RO water for a few minutes. This reopens the pores.
Thanks mate, from Australia for your thorough explanation. I saw in comment that some said to boil the white part to open pores. I guess there must be more ways to clean it, cause another RUclipsr says to drop it in a 3:1 mixture of water an bleach for half hour. Then add dechlorinator to make it safe to use.
I use cheap thin bleach and I don’t dilute it soak for 24 hours, rinse under tap water then soak in dechlorinated water for 24hours. Doesn’t get the inside surface perfectly clean but I still get a really fine misting.
Great video and very helpful. Don't do what I did when swapping the ceramic diffuser for a new one - when I flipped the old one out (trying carefully not to touch it) it came out with the top seal still attached (which I didn't notice) so that when I put the new ceramic piece in, there was no upper seal and the CO2 just made its way straight up the filter pipe! Solved after much head-scratching when i looked down at the old ceramic piece in a bucket :) A couple of related points that might help based on questions I've asked CO2 art. Apparently , it makes no difference which way round the diffuser is mounted - there is no 'up'. The diagram on the packaging show the CO2 inflow at the end nearest the tank - which I follow. I've also seen pictures with the installation the other way round. I also asked them about a CO2 'mist' in the tank and if there is any optimisation that can be done to eliminate it - it was suggested to put the diffuser before the filter. Not tried this.
Thanks Trevor, great points for people to look out for during maintenance. We did try putting the diffuser on the intake pipe just before it fed into the filter and diffusion was great. The problem we found was Co2 then got trapped in the head so you had to gently tilt the filter to get it to release the built up Co2 which was a shame.
The clear part is plastic and the black part is metal so a good twist should do the trick, you shouldn’t break it even with some force. Just don’t use a tool like a clamp or the clear part can crack. Some of the older models came with a semi clear ring that offers as a seal, I’ve heard of them being really hard to untwist, Co2 art has replaced this o ring to a red rubber version. When I get home tonight I’ll do a short video on how to remove it Miah 🤙🏻
I’ve got one of these I’m having issues Can’t get my drop checker to change colour I’ve turned it up down etc and waited 24 hrs While no fish in tank I’ve got a red reefer 250 sumped tropical tank Any advice welcome
Hi, Did you solve problem? Are you using premix solution in your drop checker. I'm using the CO2Art premix. It doesn't register straight away. Give it half a day to a day. start when co2 turns on an hr before lights go on an check an hr before lights go off. If another day goes by an it still doesn't register, then turn up co2 a little and rinse an repeat till it registers. once you get it working properly it should registering straight away.
There is water leaking from the little O' ring where I attach the Co2 tubing to the Bubble counter. It's brand new. It's a steady leak any suggestions? It's coming from the hole not the O' ring
Great video.

Nice and clear and informative thanks for sharing!
Nice explanation mate. Cheers
Thank you 🙏🏻
Great shirt!
How do you open the glass bit to get the ceramic out? Mine is stuck.

Are you getting a ‘mist’ in the water ?
