- HoloLamp is replacing non-interactive mockups for architects, real estate agents, civil engineers and urban planners. The portable device projects the illusion of 3D buildings directly on the table-top, with the capability to see the virtual buildings from all angles with the correct perspective. It also allows natural interactions with the user’s hands, so that he can zoom in and out to see specific details, change the materials and manage 3D assets by simply gesturing his hands.
What do you think about multiple user at the same time? For a 3d demostration you need to intereact with your client and share your "point of view".. i think
When it comes to these kinds of displays, you have to pick between crowd control or visuals for 1. You'll never get the perfect perspective for multiple people, but by changing up how you pick your projection angle, you can make it a lot less obvious. If so, they'd have to turn the motion controls in the video off. It's truly a big riddle on how to control these types of projections!

IDK about this exact model, but the comparable devices such as looking glass, Voxon VX1, and HoloTABLE are all in the range of $$$$.$$

They're out of business unfortunately, but for similar concepts expect mid $$$$. Off the top of my head, Voxon VX1, Looking Glass, and HoloTABLE are all about that range

Truly a shame. I am just now learning about this product, but photonics around this time is what inspired me to start HoloTABLE. I don't know specifics on their business, but if you have any questions about the physics or similar product's I can give it my best!

As far as the science, your credit card has a truer hologram than any of these "hologram displays" going around. I still think it looks badass though!

Nice gimmick. Still not even light holography, There is some underlying desire to create reality But as long as it is only visual. It's like a magicians trick and a mirage. You can't touch or hear or smell, or taste it. So it's just an expensive toy. It is more of a metaphor for what reality is, but cannot ever be reality. As entertainment it's awkward and not ergonomic.....so where does it go from here?
Well, it looks like this one went in the gutter. One big thing comparable products need is that user friendliness you were getting at. These "expensive toys" can save a lot of money in the right use-cases though, and I can't blame them for starting with architecture firms. Personally, my research has brought me all the way from video games to weddings!
Also, Pepper's ghost was the first documented Volumetric Projection I know about, and that was back in 1584. If you really want to know what's going on, start with the history!
