Tattooed Teenage Alien Fighters From Beverly Hills - Everything You Didn’t Know | SYFY WIRE Развлечения
...I honestly thought this was a JOKE made by DBZ abridged.
Same, I'm looking through the comments right now to look for references.
same
Same af
Same lmao
To be fair to you, that title sounds like a made up joke than a real series.
I'll be honest, I thought my memory of this show was a fever dream I suffered from as a kid until relatively recently. Wow
ALL these old school shows feel like fever dreams!
@Cyril Moore I remember
@Cyril Moore I feel like the name rings a bell but I'd have to look it up to confirm. Don't remember any details
@@SyFyWire The only thing is I remember both shows and Tattooed Teenage Alien Fighters from Beverly Hills drbuted in 1994 came out a whole TWO YEARS prior to Mighty Morphin Power Rangers debuted in the United States 1996
Omg! You too?! Lmao!
I love how no one heard of this show until DBZ Abridged mentioned it
I only vaguely know about the show's existence because of that one joke on DBZ abridged.
Wait this was real? I thought it was just a joke that Vegeta said on Dragon Ball Z abridged.
Same
Yup, that title is just so funny, it had to be a joke.
I know right? I knew about the other shows but I am floored that this is real!
Bruh same!
I literally said the thing
This show was absolute schlock, but there was one thing i remember that was pretty clever:
Once, their enemy sent a bomb that they had to diffuse in a classic cut the right wire method. They were supposed to cut the red wire or something, but all the wires were the same color. They eventually realized that the color spectrum of their enemy's planet was different (his sun was blue, i think), so the wires would be different colors under a blue light.
That's actually kinda smart
You remember the episode name?
I remember that episode and that was actually pretty clever.
I always kinda looked at this show as the sort of Red Dwarf of 90s American Tokusatsu. It was funny but not always witty or clever in terms of playing with tropes.
@@DairangerSentai7 I know this is a late reply but the episode name is "Beverly Hills 902-Oblivion." Episode 30.
TFS did a good research for writing their jokes
What if you put the Power Rangers and Saved By The Bell in a blender? You’ll get this.
The show tunes alone 😂
I thought MMPR was already Saved By The Bell with superpowers hehe.
I want to say Saved by the Bell and TTAFfBH were both produced by Peter Engel.
No. This is BEVERLY HILLS 90210 with superpowers. Beverly Hills, right?
@@sychkid Good point
The bottom of the barrel for Power Rangers copycats.
Or the top...
@@GTAJeff At least they went for the title to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles school... you combine a bunch of unrelated but marketable stuff in the title and you have your basic concept...
@Alex Phillips
Yup
I never had a bigger jolt back in my chair then when you said "Zoobielee Zoo". Dear gawd...I had forgotten. 🤯
Please tell me if we keep mentioning Zubilee Zoo we get a video on it!! I was in love with this show when I was like, 5, and my favorite character definitely was Whazzat!
Yes zoobilie zoo!! Can we get a video on that show???
Please do this this show!
I feel like I need find all these shows again because I feel like I know them but need to see again so I know I wasnt on drugs.
Some of my earliest memories are of watching that show with childhood friends, I think we were like 4 or 5.....
I remember watching this on USA Network. I regret it.
I remember Leslie Danon, that woman was hot
@@filter021 I am surprised that they got away with showing her in her underwear in one episode.
@@emanuelespinoza9325 Pretty sure it was a bikini and not really undies.
I remember this show! I thought Vegeta made this up to get under Gohan’s skin in DBZ Abridged. HOLY CHRISTMAS! My childhood! 😂😂👊🏾
"Mom, can we have Power Rangers?"
"We have Power Rangers at home"
Power Rangers at home:
Who else remembers the power rangers style, Mystic Knights of Tir Na Nog? (Edited)
Its not a rip off. It is an american-original tokusatsu shot on location in ireland. Show the genre some respect
@@000xyz i love that show.
@@000xyz that's fair.
@Milton Bradley I can agree with this.
Mystic Knights was dope. Those costumes were incredible. The toys were great too.
Let me just say: I look forward to every episode of Everything You Didn't Know! I enjoy it so much, I watch episodes of shows I avoided back in the day. Still waiting for a TMNT 2003 episode!
I stumbled on this in 1995 when I was in college. I set my alarm for classes for 6am, put this on the tv, and after Knightron did his pose I started getting up. Simpler times.
Was overjoyed when I found this on the "Dis" network or something as an adult like 5 years ago. My wife loved it, as it was so bad.
Definitely remember Zoobilee Zoo! Awesome that Ben Vereen was part of it!
Mayor Ben the snow leopard 🐆
I remember it too
Turtles had better "copy cats." Because I liked Swat Katz and Biker Mice From Mars as series that stand on their own. Superhuman Syber-Squad was the best Power Rangers clone attempt. Syber Squad > VR Troopers > Big Bad Beetle Borgs > > > >Tattooed Teenage Alien Fighters.
Swat katz was my shitttttttt
Switch VR with BBBB and I agree
VR Troopers and Beetleborgs were supposed to be an interconnected universe with Power Rangers... They name dropped Zordon and Alpha 5. The Beetleborgs they showed in an episode of Power Rangers Wild Force "Forever Red". They were trying to repower Lord Zedd's Serepenterra.
But VR Troopers ended up on another network. I live in New York City, so Fox 5 was the channel that had all 3 shows Power Rangers, Masked Rider and Beetleborgs. V. R. Troopers were on channel 11, which (at the time) was The WB.
Well I wouldn't say that Swat Kats and Biker Mice from Mars was a copycat off of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles I see like this they were completely different from Ninja Turtles
The episode featuring Orion who was the sole survivor of his team was great!
VR Troopers was the best power ranger knock off. And I remember this show just being so bizarre
It was also Saban production
nazish arshad I know VR troopers was Saban I never doubted that
It wasn't a knockoff though, its an adaption of Metal Heroes. And power rangers is an adaption of Super Sentai. Super Sentai and Metal Heroes are going after two completely different things and are unique on their own
Big Bad Beetle Borg's and Vr Troopers are BOTH Metal Heroes shows, not power ranger copy cats
The masked rider was just a English version of Kamen Rider from Japan
Kamen Rider Black from the 80s actually.
Same with Beetleborgs and VR Troopers, they are from Japan too.
@@ColorfulHavoc they all are Americanized versions of Japanese shows. Every Power Rangers series too
They almost all japanese show with american actor footage cut in fo the US. Lol
Yeah, it's kind of like calling Power Rangers an Ultraman imitator while completely ignoring that Super Sentai exists
Vr troppers and masked rider aren't copycats they are tokutastu shows from japan adapted for american audiences
VR Troopers is from several Metal Heroes and Masked Rider Kamen Rider Black RX
VR troopers is actually three different tv series edited into one. there were episodes where ryan shared no scenes with jb and kaitlin in battle mode.
I’ll be honest, I’m glade I never saw this when I was a kid
Same here.
I loved Superhuman Samurai Syber Squad!
The one teammate in the syber squad, the one that always had a different thing to say when he transformed to join Matthew Laurence's character in fighting the monsters
I remember seeing him as the best friend of the title character of this show on Fox TV
Karl Smith I remember him. He was eventually replaced by a surfer dude who always said “Surf’s Up.”
I dont see how you can call beetleborgs, vr troopers, and Masked Rider copycats when they were made by SABAN
@TripleDoubleNoTAS none of them are copy cats though, their all adaptions of Japanese tv shows with completely different reasons for being created long before power rangers.
The only reason I knew about this, was because it aired on one of those random channels you get with the HD antenna. What channel did it air on?
Found it on the "THIS" network or something, as in This is for kids.
I feel embarrassed, this is the first time I've ever heard of this show. I grew up loving Power Rangers, Beetle Borgs, and VR Troopers, but I never knew this existed until Syfy Wire brought it to my attention...
Todd Jameson loves tattooed teenager alien fighters from Beverly Hills not a fan of power rangers 📼
You've gotta watch this!!!
@@SyFyWire I remember this show and I did like it; the intro reminded me of the live-action shows on Saturday morning that I grew up with in the '70s.
Zooboli Zoo I thought I was the only one who remembered that
Nope but few and far between. Every now and then i think back to it and it makes me smile.
I'm not gonna lie, I was very young when I watched it and thought it was kinda spooky. I hated watching it but my brother loved it and I didn't want to look like a punk lol.
Loved it as a kid there was that and another one I remember called Pin wheel
This show i watched sometimes but rarely. Didn't get too into it. But I loved Superhuman Samurai Syber-Squad. Had all the toys for that series. I wish I held on to them, but unfortunately they got passed down to my younger brother who destroyed most of the toys and they all eventually got thrown out or sold. Also, really liked VR Troopers and Masked Rider. Power Rangers was #1 of course.
Same
kick some giga butt!
For me, it was
Power Rangers
VR Troopers
Beetleborgs
You should check out SSSS.Gridman then. It’s an anime combining Samurai Syber Squad with Gridman for a pretty interesting plot
It's like the darkest timeline of Super Human Samurai Cyber Squad.
I loved zoobilee zoo. 🖐🏻
In all sarcastic feelings - No! You didn't have to talk about TTAFBH! Ever! This was horrible! Why?! Bad you! Bad!
Also, the best Power Rangers rip offs are Superhuman Samurai Syber Squad and Mystic Knights of Ti Ra Nog.
You have good taste.
Fucking loved Superhuman Samurai Syber-Squad
I had that bad ass dinobot as a toy when I was a kid
And Power Rangers is literally a Rip-Off too since I'm pretty sure the original is Super Sentai
I loved VR Troopers.
When is the Dinosaucers is going to done?
Damn I loved that one.
And Denver the last dinosaur
@@curbydinobot8633 He's my friend and a whole lot more.
I loved Zoobalee Zoo
I remember this show. I think this was a case of me watching a show only because nothing else was on.
It only lasted one season because it was an awful show. It tried to capitalize on the popularity of Power Rangers and failed to do so. This show took camp to a whole new level.
90s shows with superpowers
1) Dawson's Creek with superpowers = Smallville
2) California Dreams with superpowers = Superhuman Samurai Syber Squad (because they got the band)
3) Saved by the Bell with superpowers = VR Troopers (because there are 3 protagonists)
4) Beverly Hills 90210 with superpowers = Tattooed Teenage Alien Fighters from Beverly Hills (because it's in beverly hills)
5) My So-called life with superpowers = Buffy the Vampire Slayer
I only saw one episode and that was more than enough for me. Scorpio girl's outfit was literally the best thing about the show.
I’ve watched this recently and it optimizes so bad it’s good
Masked Rider is not a copycat. Japan had so many Sentai/Tokusatsu shows, that eventually made it over, but Masked Rider made it over under its original name first Kamen Rider years before. Beetle Borgs was awesome, but VR Troopers is a must! And yes I remember Zoobilee Zoo. Superhuman Samurai Cyber Squad, so good. It even got an animated version that referenced the American series.
Laurie The “hot girl” is in her 50s and still smoking hot.
I made this whole show in the Sims 2. I faithfully recreated the 4 or 5 sets the show had...the back porch, the school hallway, the coffee shop, deseert and cityscapes, and Nimbars lair. I even had Gordon's mom in politics, and Swinton 's dad in Science.
I remember this show.... I was lucky enough to have forgotten it, but now all the horror is being brought back to me.
The monster fights always reminded me of Ultraman. I loved this show when I was a kid. And I always remembered the title because of how ridiculous it was. Classic!!
Zoobilee Zoo was one of the most epic shows for me as a kid that was non violent. Plus it got me to dance as a child non pop and lock.
When I watched it back then I still couldn't believe or understand why I was watching it but I tuned in everytime 😂
I watched zoobilee zoo on my local PBS station when I was like 7 or 8, I think...
I’m glad this exists, because I told some friends about this, Beetle Borgs, VR troopers, and Samurai Pizza Cats, and they didn’t believe me.
Omg! It's 4:30 am and I just laughed so loud at the tommy transformation. I laughed way to hard at that one. Thank you.
I have a dream in which this channel doesnt get subscribers by ads, but by actual quality
I was born in 1991 and have never heard of tattooed teenage alien fighters from Beverly Hills.
Talk about a fever dream lol
oh snap. i thought i was the only person alive who remembers zoobilee zoo.
I don't know why but I feel like this gets us one step closer to a WMAC Masters EYDK lol. I only heard about TTAFFBH a couple of months ago and I have no idea where I heard about it from. It must've been mentioned on another EYDK.
i need that
Even more awesome that none if the actors were actually teenagers, hilarious!
Zoobilee Zoo was the best! You should do an EYDK episode about it
I remember seeing some of one episode but thinking it was just so awful I couldn't finish it
I was actually insane enough to watch more than one episode of this crappy show. Thankfully I came to my senses. For all the cheese of Power Rangers, at least it was watchable.
So you’re telling me this wasn’t a childhood fever dream?! I need to now rethink my life...
I used to watch this as a kid. Good show.
Gotdamnit
Man that’s so obscure, but yeah. I watched this all the time too.
This, Power Rangers, VR Trooper, Beetleborgs, and Masked Rider. Long live the 90s! 😎
Those came long before the 90s
Well the original shows they came from anyway
I think they should have used being a US production more to their advantage. Maybe have set it in the Southwest? A Western theme would've definitely made it stand out. And even the "alien landscape" fight stage would've worked for it as is. And we've got some great landscapes to film in for free like the old Westerns use to.
Oh yeah, I remember Zoobile Zoo. The theme will be replaying in my head all night now.
Yes. I used to watch ZoobaloZoo before going to preschool everyday LOL.
I would love to see you do a vid on VR Trooper
Private Watkins: I'd like to leave the Army please, sir.
The Colonel: Good heavens man, why?
Private Watkins: It's dangerous! Monty python joke🤣
I never heard of Tattoo Teenage Alien Fighters, and I grew up in the 90s.
I clicked on this video because it sound like a parody.
I only know this because of Dragon Ball Z Abridged.
Same here
Me too.
Okay so I just was spurred to rewatch this and I think in my 20s its now my favorite comedy show.
I look this up one time on RUclips and then I just shows up randomly
You know, I really like this guy. Seems like he’s got a lot of passion for 80’s & 90’s like I do. Plus, he makes me laugh.
Also, I remember hearing about this show but I don’t remember watching it & I loved watching weird shows like this. I was a huge “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers” fan (to this day, you mention Jason David Frank aka Tommy Oliver & I start fangirling. I would still marry that man. He’s still awesome & saving the world) so I watched, “Big Bad Beetleborgs”, “VR Troopers”, “Super Human Samurai Syber-Squad”, “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”, “Gargoyles”, “Street Sharks”, “SWAT Cats”, “X-Men”, etc. If it had teenagers/kids with attitude or had anthropomorphic animals being bad-ass or mutants saving the world from bad guys while all of them were eating fast food & using cheesy catchphrases, I was about it 😍
I told people about this show for YEARS and NO ONE believed me lmao. Even though I can barely remember what happened on each show I do remember watching the whole season.
Lmfao I vaguely remember this show. I thought it was actually a spin off of the power rangers as a kid
I remember watching one episode of this show as an kid, and was like Naw I’m good and watch Rugrats or somethin😂
Ahhhhh that’s where TFS got the idea from Lmaoo
You're goddamn right I remember Zoobilee Zoo.
Every morning on TLC when that channel was educational & not reality shows about 700 lb people & polygamists
This show was so bad it was good!
I remember Zoobilee Zoo. I use to watch it around 5:30am on weekdays when I live in NJ. I use to wake up cause my dad left to work around 5:30am & would stay up to watch it. Damn, that was about 35 yrs ago.
This takes me back!!!
The Show was called Tatto(Too Long to Pronounce), but the teams are called Galatic Sentinels.
I'll give This Animated Startrek a chance.
The chick playing Laurie was almost 30 back then. it's all good. she kept 12 year old me coming back ever so often. but I didn't dig this one like the other live action shows from the same genre at the time. I stayed on MMPR for almost 3 years and I watched Samurai Squad and Masked Rider for about one season each. Sadly I think that's all those 2 did get. Most likely for the reason you already pointed out: no TAKU footage. you have to remember that Japan has been doing shows like these since 1976. at least since then. and the first dose we got over here was made in 1992. They had 16 years on us with costume design and fight choreography. the show never had a chance but I still love Laurie. ❤
Michael Gatti Leslie Danon, gave up acting back in the early 2000’s
I bet you loved that infamous underwear scene.
I was trying to remember the name of this show for the longest time.
I used to watch this on channel 5, the USA Network. It was a guilty pleasure. I still remember that theme song😂😂😂
Tattoo Teenage Alien Fighters and USA High a weekday combo in the 90s
I love Zoobilee Zoo! I've been trying to remember the name for ages. Just watched an episode for the first time in almost 30 years. Thanks for the info bro!
Where did you get such good quality uploads? It looked like you were watching on netflix but I can't find any record of it ever being on there.
Laurie’s weapon is a hook sword, or a shuang gou: a Chinese weapon that are commonly used by Wushu fighters. They’re typically wielded in pairs so they can be hooked together and used at a distance.
I LOVE Zoobile Zoo! Mom and I used to watch it every morning when it came on
Zoobilee Zoo! Great pull. Wow ultimate throwback
I liked how the TTAFFBH didn't magically become best friends like the Power Rangers. And of course I remember Zoobilee Zoo!! I still sing the theme song to this day.
I literally remember watching EVERYTHING shown in this video except the title show
Didn't even know this existed. Thank you
Ah such a random show from childhood. Take my like
Masked Rider was actually a throw to Kamen Rider just like power rangers was a throw back to the Sentai heroes.
I grew up watching this show and didn't even know anything or nothing about it till now and I am 42 year old and I still LOVE❤ watching it🤦🏻♀🤷🏾♀.
I vaguely remember seeing a commercial for this and...that was it! I didn’t think an episode even made it to air, it was so bad.
“Everything you didn’t know”
Number 1: this show
Maybe I'm mistaken, but wasn't there a 5th add-on "6th-ranger-type" character towards the end of the show?
Sorta. There was an episode with another teen who had the power Orion. He had quit so his tattoo faded, but he ended up helping them out one time.
I saw this BITD. I stopped in late 94 or early 95 whenever they moved to Saturday mornings. Didi not have to energy to get up that early and watch it. And always forgot to tape it.
