Peter White is one of the really nice people on the planet. My wife and I bumped into him and his wife at lunch in a sandwich shop in New Orleans. I had seen Peter that morning playing on a live TV show and immediately recognized him...though I had some of his CDs and seen him in concert. He was as down to earth as he could be. REALLY nice guy.
Great interview that I am just now watching (2023) I wanted so badly to help him towards the end, the word I believe he would have like to have used is "validate". He no longer has to validate himself to anyone. He is who he is and it's wonderful. Lori Bishop
Very wise words..... walk thru the fear......makes a ton of sense......after that you can do anything......gaining confidence along the way....I met Peter at a concert at a break in Chicago years ago.....very nice guy & I have been a big fan of his since 1976
I spoke to Peter a few times 25-something years ago as he called for a friend and co-worker of mine. I didn't gush and go all fanboy on him, but I probably should have. I LOVED (and still love) Al Stewart's pop records. Nice guy, pleasant and humble back then.
What a charming interview! I was in junior high in another part of the world, when I heard "On the Border". Loved it right away. Little did I know then that, a little over a decade later, I would meet Peter White and Al Stewart in the Midwest, USA. Met them several times since. Peter was always very gracious. I have his autograph, and pics with him. After he went solo I saw him again in 1996, and he autographed his CD. A gentleman through and through. I am SO glad you have done this interview with Peter. Best regards to you both.
Great interview to the great Peter White, whome I had the pleasure to meet in person in 92 in LA and was at his very first show as a solo artist! Peter is a true talented musician and such a great person. Thank you SO much for this interview!!!
Loved watching this interview featuring Peter White. His Life & musical journey of how he arrived to become a loved & popular musician & artist was amazing. We are truly blessed to have his music uplift us & put a smile on our faces & some Joy in our hearts. A true gent of an all natural vibe & such sincere qualities. Ive been such fan for years & enjoy all his music and talents.
What an absolutely fascinating interview. Great to hear such detail about Peter’s career - what a down to earth, humble man he is. Super talented too of course. Thanks & best wishes from the UK
I had the opportunity to see Mr. White when Al Stewart was on tour promoting Al's RUSSIANS AND AMERICANS album. I was with two friends at the front row center table at Chicago's Park West Theater. It was a full band except for a drummer. Peter programed a Linn Drum Machine PEFECTLY! One of the best played and sounding concerts I've seen. The acoustic duo part with just AL and PETER was great...Some fans don't realize what a great guitarist Al Stewart is so (as a guitarist myself) seeing both of these guys up close was fantastic!! Thanks to Peter White!! up close was fantastic!
Thank you guys. Truly enjoyed this. I originally noticed Peter in a few live clips from Al's band in the mid and late 70s. Peter stood out on stage from the pure joy on his face. What a talent. His humility and talent shines through. Thanks for putting this together.
Just a great interview , you even surprised Peter White with your insightful questions. This was an interview worth listening to the whole thing , in an era where people's attention spans are quite limited . Thanks to both of you .
Peter is one of my all time favorites. Discovered Al Stewart in the early 70's . Then I heard Peter on Year of the Cat. Been singing his praises ever since. Great interview and thanks. Saw and met Al at the Coach House in San Juan Capistrano in the late 80's . Took a great fellow musician an d his comment was ," wow ,that's the best band I ever heard " PM has always been a big influence as a pro player. T hgv anks
I come from Coventry* in the UK and I am a few of years behind Peter . No shower, no telephone, no colour TV, however we had the National Health Service. We didn't know how lucky we were. Now I'm in Australia; similar health deal, but now when I look at the US.... It brings a whole different view of what wealth is. *Try The Sorrrows : "Take A Heart" (Coventry band "freak beat")
Awesome interview with a great musician and very interesting guy. I rarely have the attention span for much more than about 30 minutes of any interview, but this time I was disappointed when it cut off at 2:04. Hope that can be fixed so I can see the rest? I've seen Peter with Al Stewart many times and a few times solo and he's always wonderful. And yes, the one time I got a chance to meet him years ago at a concert in Ambler, PA, all I could think of to say was "Uhhh....where's Al?". Most of us do seem to become inarticulate in the presence of greatness LOL! Edit: Must have been a Facebook thing, I went directly to RUclips and all is good.

I'm 1:41:10 into this and loving it. Great in-depth interview with an amazing artist. My favorite song by Peter is Drive by Night. The guitar at 1:08 just grabs my soul. I curious about Peter's experience with Ovation guitars. I bought an Ovation LX2077 just because it was as close as I could get to the sound of Peter and Al Stewart in the Rhymes in Rooms album. Great stuff, thanks!
Yeah, Peter says he was lucky. Sure but he was prepared for the time that he got lucky. he could do it. I know a lot of guys who say "I can do it", but come time to perform, he can't. Peter can and does.
After his amazing show in Emeryville Ca my girlfriend planted one on his cheek! Later she said to me..."maybe I should not have done that" I said oh hunny I bet he was ok with it! Hes a chick magnet! Im 70 and playn since 63 and still lookin to join a band! hit me up Peter! I can play the guitar quite well not to brag. 19 was my first paid gig. Teaching beginner guitar earning $2.70 an hour. wooopeeee! It did pay my 66 GTO loan. Anyone that goes from Ozzie to Joni is gonna be GREAT in a diverse way. Like Peter says "dont think...just play" I follow that advice every day!
Amazing musician and interview. He totally reminds me of Randy from Monk who also played some guitar and had some rather notable songs (and his own band)...ruclips.net/video/TaIvgulvIgo/видео.html

Yes, I agree @krismurphy7711 - thanks for listening 💥 🎶 🎸 !
What a nice genuine individual. Always enjoyed listening to his playing.
Considering that Al Stewart is a great guitarist himself, It's great that Al had such an
influence on the fantastic Peter White.

Peter White looks like Stan Laurel, (of Laurel & Hardy) he could be a relative. LOL
