This is a really strong cutscene. Not only it has emotions and a plot twist but it also is what ends up making the Joel and Ellie bond and motivates Joel to go through all that just to get Ellie to the fireflyes and when he does - he just couldn't give her away to them no matter what would they plan to do with her.
I feel like the character animations took a nose dive in the cut scene though I mean I know they want it more realistic but come on your not going to be calm and collected and able to steadily hold up your finger pointing for that amount of time including the pain from the bite wound

@@Colderbadge2099 True, i also liked her original, she looked smart and good. But when I see her age through Wikipedia, i was shocked. She should be looked old. But thank God, the remake was make more sense now. She is indeed old looking and it match her age from it.
@@Colderbadge2099 Thanks to the God
Joel had Sarah when he was younger, so he was 30 at the outbreak, age scale for 20 years and he looks 50. Your point?
Joel looks slightly younger and tess is like 20 years older
You're saying he looks younger in the remake?? He looks 40 in the original
No they aged Joel and Tess both
@@carl_consumer.of.realityHe looks 40?? Do you guys not have parents or something? Joel looks older than my grandad who's 80
@@imtiaze642 80?? Exaggerating like a mf😂 Dude looks like a stressed out 40 something year old.
@@carl_consumer.of.realityman shut up
Dang that was nostalgic
The expressions are a lot more present
I miss the old Tess
Both of them are immpresive
Tess looks like an anime character in the ps3 version
this game is and always will be gorgeously beautiful
This scene along with Joel and Ellie's little chat at the ranch house needs to be 100% by the book when they come up in the series.
No liberties need to be taken in dialogue or tone.
The game has this down to perfection.
Soooo they went a different way with it 😛 what did you think?
@@definitely.not.Longmaze I expected nothing less than for some liberties to be taken throughout the show. However, with the scenes that I SPECIFICALLY REFERRED TO, I thought they had to go by the book with those.
They botched the two scenes so far that I made examples of.
@@markbrowning4334 I hear ya. I really like the line from the game where Tess says "there must be enough between us for you to feel some kind of obligation towards me". Not sure why. Was kind of hoping to hear it.
I also agree with the ranch house scene. That's perfection. Makes me tear up every time, even if I just watch the video on RUclips. I think they really caught lightning in a bottle with the performance and execution of that, but I've got hope that they can do it again for TV. Im also hoping they don't veer too much from the game script there 🤞
@@markbrowning4334 The part where the infected come in is the ice breaker. That weird tendril kiss scene where she doesn't move is just another example of today's unnecessary writer fetish bs.
But the absolute worst was the fact she's trying to light a Zippo when she very clearly had 10 grenades lying in front of her.
Fu¢king genius writing guys. 👍🏼
@@MikeDchy25 This series has botched up so much in 3 episodes.
I agree with you about the scene you're speaking of, but its overshadowed by so many other failures.
they really captured her facial expressions in the remake
Joel: "show it to me!"
Tess: "Oopies lol"
I feel like this mission was some kind of redemption for Tess. She wants to do a right thing in her last moment.
I cannot wait to see all of these scenes in the show. Gonna be epic af
I remember playing the game on ps3, good times man
I still love her in both looks and i hate how she went at least how early
Tess looks so much better in remake, Joel looks better in the original imo
I agree! I love Tess’ design in the remake idk why some people are hating on it 🤷♂️
Other way imo
I know right? Everybody upset that she don’t look like a “young hottie” in the remake but to he completely honest, I like the remake design of Tess more😏
@@greencream1245 fr? I think Tess looks way too young and clean in the OG and in the remake, Joel looks a bit more I guess.. soft to me? he doesn't look like the hardened tough badass to me anymore. I'm interested in hearing why you think otherwise 🤔

RIP Anne Wersching 😢
Holy crap there’s such a huge difference! I played the ps3 version and honestly it still holds up but the remake is so nice to look at! Like the smoothness and lighting is great, not to mention the lipsyncing! And don’t even get me started on the redesigns! They’re amazing and the expressions are so alive like tess’ eyebrows look so concerned and her face conveyed so much emotion in the remake
The original was shocking. But the way the emotions on their faces are conveyed in the remake truly gives me chills. The expressions, the eye movement, the widening of their eyes... Incredible.
Impressive that even the framing and character positions are all improved.
This hurts so much more after seeing the news of Tess voice actor death RIP Annie will miss u 😭❤️
Tess looks older in the PS5 version💀
Reasonable old. Maybe younger than she would really like in her early 50's (like today's 50 year woman who can afford a spa every week - I guess Tess would have no such luxury).
@@PiotrPilinko I guess so
i dont like how she looks all sad in the ps5 version
in ps4 she was clearly desperate but still tough and confident, in the ps5 she looks like she was about to damn near cry
Really like how the remake was able to add more emotion into the character with the detailed face gestures!
OG was amazing for its time!
It's in part because they still had the reference footage from the actors.
I feel like the character animations took a nose dive in the cut scene though I mean I know they want it more realistic but come on your not going to be calm and collected and able to steadily hold up your finger pointing for that amount of time including the pain from the bite wound
RIP Annie
Ps3 was when I played TLOU such a great time
I love the vibrance of the newer version but I love the older version so much it’s just classic
It's crazy how Joel remodel looks younger than the ps3 one, which always looks like an angelic hue around the characters
rip Annie
you were the best there ever will be
The image above is beautiful enough, but the image below surpasses it.
It's a wonderful technology.
I wish I could tell my childhood self that games evolve so much.
Oh wow, I didn’t have a console back in the day and recently played TLOU part 1 and didn’t realize just how good the upgrade was
They made Tess look like a 25 year old in the original.
Good.
Good
y'all are really tripping in these comments, they looked their ages in the og/remaster. ain't no 25yo looks like that but okay.
She absolutely doesn't look 25 in the OG. How bad is the skin care on girls around you lol? She looks 30 in the og, and she looks closer to 40 in the remake. Neither a massive departure to her canon age of late 30s.
@@fearedjamesher canon age is 51
the changes are so subtle yet so noticeable. Facial expressions are perfected in the remake
Changes are HUGE - it is a comparison of pre-rendered animation, while in-game cut scenes look not so nice (low detail, low resolution, low fps) - this is the real comparison: ruclips.net/video/xGvKKTVL_Ds/видео.html
Last of us 1 is my favourite.❤
still obsessed and will forever be obsessed with the ps3 version.
Original tess: Hi, yeah uh... just two burguers and one beer!
Remake tess: just coffee, please.
Tess face is so good in remake.

The same guy when they see an unattractive woman wielding a sword. "Technically the body structure of a samurai leans more on the skinnier side than the fatter side, this game is so unrealistic".
@@nani4249 Too real LMAOO
Reminder: Joel is 50 and Tess is 37-45 here, they may not look as young as before but it’s not like the before version was accurate anyway
Right? And living in a rough situation like that ages you so much more. I met a man who was 60 and looked older than my 80 year old grandfather, because he worked in the sun his entire life. Rough environments treat you different. That’s why I’ve loved seeing Joel’s physical wear and tear in the show
It doesn't fucking matter. It's a remaster and the characters do not look the same. That's the problem
They also very much likely are not able to moisturize their skins, apply sunscreen, sleep a peaceful night (at least for some of the years), eat nutritionally sufficient food etc.
@@Glenn_Quagmire you good? Go get some water, man. Touch some grass
According to the HBO show Joel is actually 57 👴
“Ourps, right?”
That last shot looks like a Telltale game in the PS5 version. 💀
Is it just me or does Remake Joel look like he has anime eyes at times.
"There's enough here that you gotta feel some sort of obligation to me"
That's the least romantic phrase ever uttered by a human being 😂
The fact that she was so set on getting Ellie to safety and possibly getting a cure she was willing to stall until death. I mean sure she was a goner regardless because of the bite but still so selfless 🤧
They looked so young in the original.
I kinda wished Tess gave her bag to Joel
