Doing it outdoor with consistency (10 to 15T/ha) was already a feat accomplished by Dr. Zhu, but indoor and year round is something else entirely! Mankind has finally domesticated morels almost 2 centuries after the first try. Kudos and thank you for your contribution to Mycology!
I saw the Chinese growing them under a tent. They were doing very well. Morels are very popular in the States. It's the beginning of Morel hunting season. Everyone is excited.

I'm a advid mycologist and would love to know your secrets...
Dude I'm just an angry old outdoorsman from yukon and my absolute favorite time is right now. Finding antler sheds and picking tons of morels. When I'm 2 months into a long cold winter, just the thought of spring morels keeps me from suicidal thoughts.
@@woandy4542 Jesus fuck go talk to someone bro
I see they are using some fast sprouting grass - perhaps a rye for the roots? So whatever morel species they are using will can develop a mycorrhizal relationship with that grass. I’ll add that to my substrate plan.

Three years ago, I cut down old hardwood trees; ash and oak. I asked the tree guy to leave behind all wood chips. In addition, instead of raking leaves during the fall, I mulched them into powder and saved it. I added all of the above to trays of compost including, ash from my fireplace. In essence, every trick found on RUclips. Then, placed them on a rack in my basement where its cool yet warm as well whenever my boiler turn on. Sure enough, in early may, Morels grew. And every year abundantly more.

@@theeliminator8027 pop them in the dehumidifier till they are crispy then grind them in a blender till powdered
Those look amazing.
Do they taste as good as the mushrooms in the wild ?
Farmed often tastes a bit flavorless, compared to the forest/naturally grown. But its a very good way to feed the people, we depend on such facilities, provided they pay attention to the environment. It helps the environment, our soil can recover. 1 meter of fertile soil takes 15,000 years to grow, we have almost completely destroyed it in 100 years.
Try blueberries from the forest and from the store. The difference is gygantic, also how the blueberry looks inside. The one from the forest has deep red - purple flesh, the ones from the store are white inside.
No. Inferior product
Thanks! They do taste exactly like fresh, wild black morels. You can read more about the quality and taste on our website thedanishmorelproject.com/the-morel-project/ under section 12.
@@Mike007_ Our indoor cultivated morels are appreciated by chefs over wild morels because of their taste, quality, and the fact that they do not contain dirt, grit, snail bites, etc.
Morels taste like the grease they ae cooked in.
Would you help someone to start growing morel mushrooms

I wonder if a farmed morel that has never seen sunlight, never breathed the pollens of the forest and never experienced the composts of wild forests under specific trees and in specific biotopes will taste even remotely the same as the wild one who does. In the same way that farmed salmon in Costco is much lighter in color and tastes not as good as the wild Alaskan salmon! Or how farmed deer, found frozen in a block in Walmart tastes nothing like the wild deer. Just wondering...
Please give us it's seeds
Hello sir, in our India, this thing is found naturally in forests in hilly areas. But I want to grow it. Please tell me the complete process of this. ?? I'm very thankful to you

They look different from the ones you see in nature, still cool though. I found a Honey hole this year about 300. 😁
No they don't. There are different types of morels, maybe that's why.
There are generally 3 common types, one is blonde color, one is this, and the other is deep brown. They are all edible.
@@alexis1156 I mean it's common sense anything grown inside vs outside is going to be sightly different. (Just think about Medical marijuana, apples, Pearls etc) 😂 Not to mention I found evey single color this year in the wild and they do look different just look at my pics. 😊 This is all still cool, I personally just love the hunt its more exciting to me.
@@katelynhernandez7998 I like picking mushrooms also, but to me they look very similar to the ones i found in the wild. Just really big.
Aside from that, it's good that they are able to grow as many types of mushrooms as possible, morels are already expensive, the more you can cultivate the lower the price.
Can we grow in India
Veneno ! (Voices) ....
I have 100 morchilla in my home
But natural one is good
I bet they do not taste the same
Just tell me how so I can make a morel garden, lol.
Outdoors us doable... its the indoor but that's the secret!
buy a morel colonized bag of substrate by a trusted vendor and plant it outside in the correct area. You might have success. If i was these guys i wouldn't give out any really meaningful info unless i was getting a rather large sum of money
So what. They know how to grow them we don't.
If they shared their secret you know they world solve every crisis on the planet.
And just like that another way that we could live off the land is destroyed forever.
LOL
For some reason I think this is staged. To good to be true.
I'm calling Bullshit.
lol what do you think its CGI?
It's bullshit..?taste like mold
Liars
I personally think some thing in life should remain a mystery. Let them grow once a year in the mountains. If they are so hard to grow by the human hand they should be left to the mountains to grow.
