Great video Exeter motor works! Just wanted to ask you I have the same issue with a 10 plate Mazda 5, I have carried out the forced re gen twice I clear the light as you have done but light keeps flashing after, any suggestions what it could be? Or is there a particular way to clear the light after? Many thanks for any advice you could give me. Many thanks
Having just bought a Saab 1.9dt tid and experiencing lots of stinky smoke now and then, looking in the engine bay for a fuel leak hitting exhaust, thinking what the heck, I know realise I'm a new member of DPF family, at least now I can explain better when passer-by's panic..!
hey mate ive also got saab 93 1.9 sport diesel with dpf having the same issue stinky and smokey every now and then what i do is go on the motorway for a run and i do 3000revs on the 4th gear for about 10-20min and it solves the problem right away
I think my car might have the same problem, is the DPF filter another way of saying catalytic convertor, or is this a secondary filter on the exhaust ?
Hi! I have a 2008 Mazda 6 2.0 TD. My DPF light is flashing, I've got trouble code P2463 and lost the power. Could you do a forced regen? Where are you in Exeter? I am from Sidmouth.
I have a Vauxhall Zafira I turn my ignition off and on starting it a couple of times and it sorted out and then take it on the motorway 4th Gear clean out the engine until it stops flashing.
Hi, I have just bought a Peugeot 407 diesel with dpf warning light on, I have taken it to a mechanic and asked him to do a forced regeneration, he told me he won't do them as it can break timing belts, chains and also said it damaged the clutch on a vectra he did a regen on. Is this procedure safe generally or what would be your advice. Thanks
+Jason Jones HI JASON IF THE DPF LIGHT IS ON, ON A 407 ITS MOST LIKELY TO BE THE "PAT" "ELOYS" FLUID TANK THAT NEEDS TO BE REFILLED THESE NEED TO BE REFILLED AND RESET ABOUT EVERY 100.00KM 70.000 MILES ANY GOOD GARAGE CAN CARRY THIS OUT THE FLUID IS QUITE EXPENSIVE THOUGH, ABOUT £35.00 PER LITRE HOPES THIS HELPS. BY THE WAY THE FORCED REGENERATION ONLY REVS THE ENGINE TO ABOUT 3000 RPM NO MORE THAN IF YOU WERE RUNNING ON A MOTORWAY AND THIS PROCEDURE IS THEIR FOR A REASON THANKS DAVE P
+Dave Pearson Thanks for getting back to be, So if I have the fluid topped up will this improve the performance as the vehicle will only just reach 3000 rpms. Once again, many thanks
Garage obviously doesn't know what they are doing! The DPF lamp has two (2) warning meanings on a Mazda5. When it is on solid, the DPF NEEDS attention. When it is just FLASHING as in this case, there is NOTHING wrong with the DPF. A flashing DPF lamp means that Diesel fuel is present in the engine oil to a point when a simple oil change is all that is needed! The flashing DPF lamp can then be extinguished with about 60cm of plain wire across the battery negative to a multi plug terminal, no need for a grands worth of Snap On code readers.
The warning light has 2 meanings. Flashing each 0.4s means both calculated oil dillution is high or clogged DPF. The only difference is that clogged DPF starts flashing after like 15 minutes of driving.
Exactly. Gentle during warm up and drive normally afterwards. 95% of DPF issues are caused by drivers trying to wring another 0.00001 mpg by under revving the engine. Changing up far too early. And using supermarket fuel. I know one guy who actually changes up at the engine speed which will allow the engine to hit exactly idle speed in the next gear! That is mechanical rape. Oil pressure is not great at idle.
paulanderson79 exactly. At idle engine components receive a low film of engine oil. Higher rpm = higher volume of oil flow and a thicker oil film. More revs , engine works harder and thicker oil film for better protection ( how it works) High load and low rpm will fuck and engine up

On my mazda manual book says if DPF light flashing, the engine oil replacement period is reached due to engine oil deterioration
MrRamssa True
Do you have to re gen when you fit a new DPF

Hey I'm in Exeter, what's the cost of a forced regen?

Attila Kézér just got this today myself mate. What did u have to do to fix???
I have a Vauxhall Zafira

Misfire could be the cause of the DPF issue to start with
how much would it cost to put your snap-on on a peugeot 207 hdi, roughly

top up the fluid clear the codes possibly regenerate then you should be ok
spajderment
urbex2007 instead, sell that shit and buy a diesel slightly older to avoid dpf issues

Easy option... buy a earlier model without dpf... or don't drive like a penny skrimping scrooge and use the full rev range of the engine and often :)

you can do the same with a piece of wire
no that just resets the dpf it does not do a regen
Hi
Can I do the same way with Mazda 6 diesel
Very quiet engine
