By far the best engineering video I've watched in years😭😭😭 I wanna cry. It's all about the practical and not "your" preferences. Straight to the point. Amazing.
Good vid, but i think it would have been better if the on / off comparisons would have been of the singer singing the same line so you can hear the exact differences.
Brilliant video....That formula for BPM to mSec is the most important lesson that you are giving away through this video....God bless you just for that!
yeah... I use it on compressors too. also I only eq in note now... can't express how much better my sound sounds compared to everyone else on my industry
Trust me, the best tutorial, efficient and effective, no time wasted. After that, you will watch the rest of the videos automatically. Have a good time everyone.
This is the best channel on youtube! I just started classes at SAE Institute for audio engineering and i love how informative these videos are. seriously you’re the best!🙏🏾🙏🏾🤟🏾💜
I've been mixing a long time and this is how I do it and all the other pros do it. Why I see all these RUclips videos and they don't touch on this stuff as beyond me. Excellent video good job oh a voice text
Your company is aptly named. Sage advice indeed. I can't believe how many valuable tips you are sharing. This is accelerating my learning curve exponentially. Thank you!
the upward compression after gate was a fantastic tip! I've been commenting on a lotta your videos, I feel like we've built a good connection at this point haha, actually I myself am a mixing engineer. I do mastering as a creative fun thing, I am not a mastering engineer lol(of course I know, but knowing and doing professionally are different things, different set of ears). But I watch all your videos, It helps me refresh techniques that I could forget and I also put my ego aside while watching your videos because even though I am a mixer, there is no end to gaining knowledge and you never know, someone else might know things which you had no idea of. Keep it up!
Thanks for saying that! Glad you liked the tip and look at these videos as a way to come across new things! Likewise we learn a lot from the people that view and comment on the videos so that you for that! SageAudio.com
I love every single one of your videos! My only beef with this one and most videos like this on the Internet is that your default audio example already sounds pretty good. Most recordings done at home are not that good of quality. I would love to see how you take a really good scratch vocal track and make it “clean”
Dude, I thought that was just me. Phew. LOL. Also, I'm not saying that the vocalist isn't skilled, but did I hear some auto tune? Not sure, but I think so. Lastly, can we get some lyrics about people not feeling lonely? Selfish and depressing. "I'm so lonely, I'm so sad, come over and give me some. Then I'll still find something to be sad about after that."
This is actually wrong. It boils down to room treatment. Yes, a good mic helps. But you can use an at2020 in a well-treated room sound amazing.@@TonyDaGreat
Sounds to me like, as with every lame vocalist out there today, there's auto pitch correct being used. And the guy doesn't have one unique thing about his vocal...he sounds just like every other vocal wannabe out there. Take away all the computer band aids and lets see ho impressive he sounds.
Sage audio! Wow. ThankU so much! Well, is there any way that my vocal recordings recorded by my vivo phone mic will be as good as vocal recordings recorded by a professional mic?? I'm strugling processing vocal just using my phone without a professional mic:( agh, I hope there's the best way to process vocals by a phone recording...
Reverb timing adjustment just blew my mind. I'd never considered this before, thank you!

Most cases its just boils down to how much of a good quality mic you got that make even your bare vocals decent
