I can miracast my phone but how do you get the mirror to the rear seat monitors? It has the option to mirror the head unit but it doesn't work. The only source that works on the rear seats is the dvd option.
I don't recommend unplugging the GPS antenna. If you do, you'll see an error message on the in-dash receiver screen about the GPS antenna. If you have the Pioneer AVH-W4400NEX, Android Auto Wireless will use GPS data provided by the in-dash receiver. If you use wired Android Auto through USB, the phone can use it's own GPS data if it's available. Try to mount the GPS antenna under the dash. GPS signals will penetrate the dash of many vehicles. The VSS cable does not need to be connected. This will usually show a 1 time warning message.

Just hooked mine up in our 2005 scion tc and have an orphaned "power antenna" wire (blue in the harness adapter www.scosche.com/87-ta-pwr-4spk-harness#product_tabs_compatibility ) that doesn't have a match from the Pioneer wiring harness. Can't even find out what this wire does, though I assume it gives additional amplification to the antenna (as it does have one of those old antennas that raises and lowers). If that is correct, I'd like to ensure it is getting the additional power to the antenna to ensure the best reception. Anyone with similar aware for Toyota made care aware of what I should do with this? Other than that, it is a great upgrade for the car and was done for the Android Auto (and future wireless ability to our samsung phones). Though the sliding face feature has proven to tough as aftermarket dash kit we got isn't designed to have the room for this movement. Also strange that it is still such a low resolution screen given you can get super cheap tablets with higher resolution, larger, capacitive screens everywhere and the fact that it plays DVD's in 2018 but not Blu-rays or UHD BR's. Haven't bought one of those since 2007 so we had to go dig around to see if we still had a DVD somewhere just to test it. :)
I cannot get my Note8 to wirelessly connect to android auto. Sometimes it asks for a password? What is the password? sometimes it tries to connect and always fails. What are the "5" android phones that work with this radio? Is there an update to expand the phone types?
As of July 15, 2018 Samsung has not enabled Android Auto Wireless on your phone or through your carrier. You will not need an update to the in dash receiver. When Samsung and your carrier make Android Auto Wireless available for your phone it will work. Until that time I recommend to use a wired connection for Android Auto. You can see a Pixel 2 connect in this video: ruclips.net/video/yoPE7eF84-0/видео.html
