  • In this video I compare all the credit card rewards points, and the cards offering them, to show which cards offer the best value from a rewards points perspective.
In this video, I compare the following credit card rewards points:
    - Air New Zealand Airpoints (American Express, ANZ, Kiwibank, Westpac)
    - ASB True Rewards
    - Westpac Hotpoints
    - Flybuys (BNZ)
    - Membership Points (American Express)
Out of this video you should have an idea of which credit card offers the best return as a percentage, i.e. the value of the rewards points divided by the amount you have to spend to earn them. Also, you should get an idea of the amount you'd have to spend, in order to earn enough points (in value) to recoup the annual card fees, expressed as the card break even point.

What points do you collect? Did you select your credit card solely on its member rewards?

I just have an ASB card and collect True Rewards, which I cash in from time to time. I used to do a lot of work related travel and had an Airpoints linked card but when Covid put most of my meetings in to Zoom I let it go.

It's a debit card, no application needed you just sign up instantly, in fact, even teens as young as 13 can get it.
