They did a live improvised jam of this song in 2018 and it ended up being nearly 27 minutes long. Unbelievable band that do sound better live and they've improved an unbelievable amount since this released
You need to listen to one of their live versions, they’re awesome and extended. Check out red rocks, lover, lever, or Sacramento or anywhere. Just try a live one.
I can't quite help but think that perhaps Josh is trying just A LITTLE TOO HARD to bear the mantle of the classic-rock chest-beating screechers he so obviously worships. Unfortunately, I do believe Greta Van Fleet has, instead of evolving, doubled-down on the "Classic-Rockist" tropes that will ultimately serve to limit the future potential of the band. It's hard when one becomes disappointed with a combo with SO MUCH potential! Thanks for the reaction and analysis, Alan - YOU ROCK!
I’m not disappointed in them in the least. In my eyes (and ears), they’re better than ever and Josh has honed his vocal capabilities to the point he can do pretty much whatever he would like to do, and he makes it look and sound effortless. The rest of the band have done the same.
@@gayle8153 Can you begin to imagine what a little bit more effort, and a little bit (a lot) more confidence in his OWN voice would do for the band's music? That's just IMHO, however...😉
