Happy Easter!!! We hope you're having an amazing Holiday weekend. If you'd like to see more about our visit to Inks Lake State Park including our tips for visiting and photos (and what we learned when we researched the rocks), visit our website: rvamericayall.com/us-state-parks/texas-state-parks/inks-lake-state-park . See you next Sunday!
Native Texans here...Inks Lake is one of our absolute favorite parks we've been to!! We were just there staying in Burnet a week ago and there were TONS of Bluebonnets and Indian Paintbrushes everywhere. It was really beautiful down there. There is a lot to do in the surrounding area as well. Longhorn Cavern is also pretty amazing!! Love our BEAUTIFUL state! Thank y'all for sharing your adventures!
This brought back some fond memories. Growing up, we spent a lot of time in Burnet; my paternal family is from there, back before Burnet was Burnet. My great-great-great-grandfather settled there in the 1830s. I also had family in Bertrum, Texas. That said, my father, being a serious hunting and fishing fan, took us there on vacation often, and in the fall, we'd come to hunt deer, turkey, and any other game that was huntable on family lands. One of my aunts had a place on Inks Lake; it was her parents' place before Inks was a lake. Ink's is a good lake for Brim and Bass. Buckhanan Lake is where it's at if one likes stripped Bass and Catfish. There is a place on Inks, though it may not be open to the public anymore, where you can see dinosaur tracks, and from what he told me, the ones on display in the museum in Auston came from there. I'm old now and will not see these places in person again because of my health, so thanks for the memories!
Absolutely an amazing State Park. We went in January right before a super hard freeze, managed to get out before it hit us. We actually have a reservation for June. Welcome to summer. Yikes. Super excited. Your trail information was great. We will definitely do those along with the paddle boats. Our grandkids will be joining us. Thanks for all the info. It was great!!!
This channel will be one of my road maps for planning our travels after we retire this fall. So many channels are just talking heads. Y'all actually get out and do. Thank you for sharing your adventures.
Inks Lake is about an hour from our house. This is one of our favorite state parks in the Central Texas area. Another park you might want to try for hiking is Colorado Bend State Park. It is an hour or more north of Inks Lake along the same river - the Colorado. There are many miles of hiking trails there.
My husband and I have triplet daughters and a son. My son is 7 years older than his sisters. I love to camp and my husband doesn't. My son was in Scouts for a year and we family camped once and my son soon took his father's side that camping isn't fun. When my triplet daughters were 4 we joined the YMCA Adventure guides and I took them out camping once a month. One of these campouts was at Inks Lake and they LOVED it. I think this is a big reason at least 2 out of 3 will camp with me today. We were in a campsite with a large tree and they wanted to sleep in it like Catniss in The Hunger Games. They spent a lot of their awake hours up there; but I did get them to sleep in the tent at night. Inks lake is beautiful and we have had a lot of amazing times there. We were lucky to get a Water Only site last November and enjoyed it because of it's privacy so don't discount those as an option. We are stil tent\van camping with a Sparrow XL Rooftop tent on my Toyota Sienna to take my daughters out to all of these places. My daughters are now 16 turning 17 soon and still will go camping with me.
Hey btw the boat ramp wall is CCC construction and some of the old stone under road drainages and some more small things. Definitely CCC work there just not so flashy.
Thanks for that detail but we did say in the video that some of the roads were built by the CCC but none of the buildings like many of the other parks due to getting stopped by WWII. That’s why we said that it didn’t really look like other CCC parks. 🤷♂️
Yep I wanted to comment adding in the parts that were CCC so others can be informed, manage expectations, and still honor the history contained in the park! ☺️
Another first class video of a Texas State Park! We have visited a couple of State Parks after watching your videos on them. Thank you for this GREAT video! ❤ and this will definitely go on our ‘must visit list,
A little trivia for ya...Inks Lake is the only constant level lake in the Highland Lakes chain...all the others vary in their levels with varying rain and lack of rain. Good coverage of the park!
Love ya video can you give us more information if the parks are handicap friendly this .5 trail does look wide enough for a wheelchair/mobility scooter thanks y'all are great

We were just there yesterday.Such an excellent state park👍🏻👍🏻
Absolutely 👍🏻
@@rvamericayall We are actually going back here in about a week or so to do some more hiking and camping
Cotton Carrier! I use the same setup.
Yep, works great for our gear!
Love ya video can you give us more information if the parks are handicap friendly this .5 trail does look wide enough for a wheelchair/mobility scooter thanks y'all are great
We try to mention that when we do them.
Have you been to balcones canyonland national wildlife refuge? And pendernales state park
Not yet but they are definitely on our list! 😊
Do you all find in Texas State parks ! That a Van conversion and self contained minus 110 can stay in tent areas ?
I think that’s on a park by park basis! I would call the park office.
Was Jimmy Durante there? Inka Dinka Doo...
😂
What campground within the park did you stay at ???
It was in the Central section of the park and we gave the site number in the last part of the video!
I live 5 minutes away from this park and only been there 2 times 😢
No time like the present! 😊
