Imo the USP of a distilled alcohol product is that you can trap flavours in the aging process that are difficult to otherwise replicate. I'd argue many cocktails are objectively better without the alcohol in it (after all cocktails came to be to stomach terrible alcohol). However there are few substitutes for alcohol to preserve beverages for a long time.
I have a new case of the Lagavulin 16 - constant fave - and the Offerman 11 4th edition! I also picked up a 3rd Offerman - extra charred! Love the 12 - but not the Tequila finish! I adore the Offerman 11 Rum casking!! Second case bought!! Cheers Rob! No Offerman 11 4th Edition locally? Very easy to find in Vancouver!! I have had so many peated scotch whiskies but the Lagavulin 16 always remains a huge fave!!
nice one! I'm looking to get into more Islay whiskeys, so the distiller's edition sounds like one to look for!
