oneglimmer you need to expand your vocabulary mate. There are more than 1 meaning to the word exercise. Exercise - an activity carried out for a specific purpose.
I agree with the lights. I had a mate that was using his highbeams in the suburbs to get home late at night, doing the speed limit and rounded a corner where he saw a child run out onto the road just inside the blind spot. If he didn't have the highbeams on, he wouldn't have been able to see the kid in time and would have definitely hit them. Stay safe people, better to annoy a few adults for a few seconds with highbeams rather than hitting someone or something.
The most impressive part about this truck is that it has wear marks from actually being hammered off road! I never see that on high $ builds here in the US. Dam you Australians don’t F**k around.
Like my cousin spend so much money on his jeep and looks nice but he never takes it off road he says he's scared it will break down lol also where I live I see many nice jeeps and Toyota's that I know people spend a lot to make it look cool but they are so shiny and clean I doubt they ever go off road.
Lol no we don't fuck around in Oz. It's actually really rare to see a highway queen here, every one that owns and builds there 4x4's use and abuse the heck out of them.
@@causeuncause4059 i dont doubt it but you aren't in the category really. Your truck is nice and I would LOVE to have it but I am talking about the 60k 2018 Silverados with 3 inch lift on 35's.
Aside from the limited leg room in the rear seats, this truck absolutely rocks. Love that it was designed prioritizing function. Love the dual exhaust stacks and the sound of the V8 diesel. You Aussie's are lucky to have the 79 with the V8 diesel as a platform. So many US Tacoma off roaders want a diesel.
Guys i love the friendship you have, with each other. and the respect for each other. As a Trinidadian, based on what we have here, this is the Best Built Toyota Land Cruiser 6x6. Hope one day to see the perfected version available globally in the near future. Great work guys!Nuff love.ChiefBing.
That was a real treat, easy as good as anything I've seen built by anyone else, Australian's are certainly up there when it comes to building innovative vehicles with real imagination and talent, and as a Kiwi that's not always comfortable to admit. I really appreciate the in-depth look, the detail, intelligent questions and explanations, thanks guys I definitely want to see more, what a special truck.

You and Justin from Patriot are two blokes I'd love to sit down and have a beer with and listen to your ideas on 4wding. You may want to tell him about a system we have here in the states. It is called Hydroboost. It's a power brake system that runs off of the power steering system. Works much better. Also allows the use of huge master cylinder.
First off I'm Canadian 🇨🇦, second imho Australia not only has some of the very best off roading country in the world but also, Aussies have led the way in modding 4wd's since the inception of 4×4's. Simply put, nobody knows more nor does it better period! And yeah I know how much shit I'm going to take for my opinion but it's truly what I believe. Lastly, it's about time we see a rig as sweet as this being 100% designed & built in Australia. To hell with money spent, ya'll have done yourselves proud with this insanely wicked ass truck! Hold your heads high boys!!
YYC Designz Custom RC Creations cheers mate, that means a lot to hear as a Aussie. In 4 months no one has said anything bad about your comment so that means they know it's true👌🏻. Australia were the inventors of the 6x6 set up too with a true thru shaft middle diff, iv notice they don't do that in the states, they still run normal diffs and a extra drive shaft from the transfer that huge and complicated and prone to vibration and breaking, I don't get why they don't use the proper diffs
Awesome truck. I’m glad we don’t have strict regulations like Australia does here in America. If we want to make a 6x6 with 40+ inch tires we can. Some states limit the maximum tire size but in the states that don’t you can legally run up to a 54” tire on the road. There are other laws like requiring mud flaps or fender flares to cover wide oversized tires but in most states you can get away with quite a lot. Just look at some of the trucks built by guys like on the show Diesel Brothers. It’s insane what can be made and legally driven on the roads here in America.

Brilliant vision Jason, love the ethic, the sentiment...patriot is more than a name for your business buddy, this is a much bigger project and the service your team is doing will entrench Australian design and production on the world market... Anyone on here whining about something they spotted "they disagree" with is missing the point - (and probably has cheap imported kings spotties or winch - which probably doesnt work!). I love the way you research and then actually create something...American style but with a unique Aussie flair...Ronny - this is the right path, this is the future of media connection with marketing. Hi Jason, noticing the twin truck exorcist system on the MEGA 6X6 ; Having open out-let throats, you might need to think about, installing weather proof flappers or 90% bends to a side flow, with both out-lets. [you might be surprised how much rain/snow, could enter those openings.] example: rain gauge.
i saw the notification on the way to work, was gonna watch as soon as i got in. Then i saw the 1 hour. Don’t think i can get away with using the dunny for that long 😅
This car is is insane. It proves how much you can build these 79s up with the products in the country. The only thing that would improve this is honestly a lowered lift. You take it back to a factory lift height with portals and it'll handle rock hopping amazingly and will be way better on fuel (she's up around 30Lper apparently)
Most of the 5 speed transmissions here in the states, back when they were popular, came with directions stating to not use 5th overdrive when towing. So when towing a load you just leave the transmission in direct or 4th gear.
2 years later I see it..what a beast... I thought it was the Mercedes AMG 6×6 (my dream truck).. then wtf.. Land Cruiser... I'm down with any chance of breaking the laws of physics.. u have made a mechanical animal... the hell with cost...
Hi Ronny. I believe you filmed this episode near my beautiful home town of Grafton NSW, along side rivers where I have done lots of 4WDing and camping throughout my life. Some very special, secret and magical locations in this area that you would love. I never thought I would see you in my part of the world.
That feeling you get when you look at a neat concept/idea brought to fruition only to realize it had been done before......back in the 60s...by one of the best offroad vehicle building companies at the time...Jeep and their M715 Jeep Kaiser 6x6, or their CJ2A. Willies overland 6x6 1ton i believe it was called That being said... STILL beautifully done.
Two small aesthetic details....1.Patriot Games logo on the hood in front of the air intake.2).Area behind the rear door (curved line)uptill the window sill should be matt black.Just my take .
Definitely a very sweet build, probably the second toughest after the unimog. Despite everything being almost perfect, there's a couple of things I don't like: 1. Portal axles: Looks great and provides great diff clearance, but honestly longer springs would provide way more articulation offroad. I've noticed the mega 6x6 lift wheels on minor obstacles, which is disappointing. Diff clearance probably wouldn't be an issue anyways with 37s or 35s. 2. Rear setup: Not really great for touring. Looks great though. Otherwise, I love it. Great Aussie build.
Really nice mate , well done , maybe few more touches and you have it , personally I don’t like 79 series, only because I find them small and too simple inside, rather a 200 series 6x6 with that tray and definitely get rid of the CVs . If I was going to pay that number , I’d get a AMG 6x6’all day ! Cheers
sadly mercs, landrovers are fine from the countries they hail from though if you want them off road in the conditions in Australia I will say this you'll be gutting the shit out of it to use offroad because up north In WA they cost mega dollars to keep on roads and you can be 2-7 weeks camping on a caravan parks whilst you wait until the parts come in .. whilst landrover and merc might make a good 4x4 for the market they're in, whether it be europe/UK, however external markets they are nothing but in prim and priss class of vehicle aka soccer parent mentality.. and to both for australian condition you may spend $100,000 just to get it offroad though I doubt the landrovers engine will stand up offroad unless you are buying exmilitary vehicles.. sad to say much like jeep or other american 4x4 offroad scene in its market it does fine though try and put it in an area it was never designed to run in you will be spending mega bucks just to suit the vehicle to Australia This why you don't hear of jeeps/landrovers/g wagons going offroad that much over here because each time they brought a vehicle to test they break them,, Hate to tell them if you what a cruiser 200 as a comfort machine and a towing rig ya looking at $150,000 bare minimum
Awesome modified! While I love patriot campers, Yes I was on the side of why and what a wank with this mega tourer, But after watching this and the earlier video I totally see the why not and this is Amazing! Looking forward to seeing some more Cross channel collaborations with 2 icons of the Aussie 4wd scene.
Hey Ronny , yet another great video mate, keep them coming ! Whilst I like the cruiser , to me it lacks a soul. The fact that you could go and buy it and not build it yourself makes it a bit “ run of the mill” type of a vehicle. To me the whole idea of going off road is that you build your own vehicle/or someone does it for you , but it is still unique in the sense that it is is what you need or can afford, a bit like an old knife or a drum bbq , there are so many newer products out there that are better in every single measurable way, but they lack that one little thing , that touch of personality that keeps you going back to it time and time again. If you put your own vehicle near to this I bet you’d feel the same way, all the blood and sweat and tears that have gone into making it what it is, and all the knowledge that you have of it because you had to do your research and buy and install your parts, make it truly a part of you . And that’s why I like your channel, I like the fact that it is about the ordinary guy with the affordable 4x4 which he made his own with whatever he could afford . Having said all that, there are some great ideas that can be borrowed from this rig for sure , as I said a great build , but for me in this case bigger is not necessarily better. On a different note, when are we going to see a G wagon mate;)? I’m sure there are some good ones out there .
Oh Boy that was super quick. Just started watching and I am already excited. EDIT: Just finished watching it and man what a beast. Air Bag suspension with self-leveling, wow. Boon for those with travel sickness I guess. With your suspension issues, do you reckon upgrading your setup to airbag suspension and coils and stuff?
For some reason, even though I dislike large vehicles, I get a real kick out of watching this videos. I'd never drive one, but boy, I love watching them.
I did not realize that the Australian Govt. was so strict on the automotive industry. Are the that strict on vehicles that are shipped over to? I would like to build an overland vehicle to tour the world in but now I've got more concerns than before I watched this video. In America they are not even close. ( SEMA) proves that .I know people do things differently in other parts of the world but that is what makes it fun and exciting to go different places. I guess I need to do more research on regulations of the countries I am interested in. That is a really cool vehicle and I have been sold on the 6x6 concept sense 1977. But I got way more out of the video then I expected,Thank you for making it, in fact I have subscribed to both channels.
@Gus Johnson Its no where near the same experience. U little jimny with its 1.5L non turbo 4 cyl with 31's cant compete with this. He said this is a touring vehicle. Ur jimny cant tour, let alone tow anything over probably 1 tonne. No one in Australia has a jimny, all utes. Because they can fit bigger lifts, bigger tyres, accommodate more items and are way more comfortable, not to mention also probably faster, and have more torque etc... Any decently hard track and ur jimny wont cut it. To low, short wheel base and stance. Damage to tracks isnt an issue trust me. Any vehicle can do the same amount of damage, just depends on the driver.
@Gus Johnson bruh, you just comparing new Jimny with Land cruiser series. LC is a living legend. Don't compare it with Range Rover and especially with lower level like Jimny, it's not apple to apple. Look in Indonesia we introduced new Jimny with test ride offroad, but do you know what is the rescue car on the event? It's VX80!
The truck is amazing, Screw what anyone says this needs to go into production I would deffinentlyn buy one or just have you guys build me one. I'm in New York USA

Really nice to hear him say regarding the 70, "Coil conversion and an Auto box." Over in the UK we never got the 70 but we could get a Japanese Import 70 Prado. Which I own. It is very underpowered with a 2.4D from the Hilux but it comes standard with Coils and an Auto!! Now does anyone know of a spare 1HDFT engine in the UK.

Just an FYI for us Aussies, Baja is a famous off-roading region of Mexico/California and is Spanish so the J is pronounced as a H. Baja = "bar-ha". (Think like jalapeño peppers). If you talk to Americans about Baja trucks and say "badger", they'll be confused AF.
It's funny how the new remote reservoir shock absorbers are top secret and about to be released but they are similar to remote reservoir shocks on dirt bikes from the 80's .... remote reservoir's are pretty old tech.
gullf1sk we can drive with them on a regular license too, but the fact that this car has the extra axle raises its load capacity and towing capacity that it puts it into the next weight capacity license
In America you only need a special license for air brakes or over 40000 lbs. No tire size limit....had 44" swampers on a 70blazer very unstable at speed...lol...now have 37" ob 75blazer on 1ton axles....from Wyoming USA 🔫🤠

Good work Ronny, one of the best modified series I've seen and easily best review on the mega tourer keep up the good work.
Definitely a very sweet build, probably the second toughest after the unimog. Despite everything being almost perfect, there's a couple of things I don't like:
Great Aussie build.
love the twin wenches, people forget there are times when you get in a situation where you cant turn around and need to pull out backwards
RESPECT is not even half of the word for this project !
Stop the knocking. This showcases good Australian engineering and fabrication. Great work all round.
This trucks next level the engineering has taken it to another level
This is what I call run after your dreams, be different, do what you like
I think this is the best modified episode yet!! If you ever get to America East Coast I'd love you to take a look at my rig!!
This happened in South Africa before it did in Australia...
Silver Lakes Pretoria a company there made a 6x6 cruiser about a year ago
Really nice mate , well done , maybe few more touches and you have it , personally I don’t like 79 series, only because I find them small and too simple inside, rather a 200 series 6x6 with that tray and definitely get rid of the CVs .
If I was going to pay that number , I’d get a AMG 6x6’all day !
Cheers
sadly mercs, landrovers are fine from the countries they hail from though if you want them off road in the conditions in Australia I will say this you'll be gutting the shit out of it to use offroad because up north In WA they cost mega dollars to keep on roads and you can be 2-7 weeks camping on a caravan parks whilst you wait until the parts come in ..
whilst landrover and merc might make a good 4x4 for the market they're in, whether it be europe/UK, however external markets they are nothing but in prim and priss class of vehicle aka soccer parent mentality..
and to both for australian condition you may spend $100,000 just to get it offroad though I doubt the landrovers engine will stand up offroad unless you are buying exmilitary vehicles..
sad to say much like jeep or other american 4x4 offroad scene in its market it does fine though try and put it in an area it was never designed to run in you will be spending mega bucks just to suit the vehicle to Australia
This why you don't hear of jeeps/landrovers/g wagons going offroad that much over here because each time they brought a vehicle to test they break them,,
Hate to tell them if you what a cruiser 200 as a comfort machine and a towing rig ya looking at $150,000 bare minimum
Australia should be proud of this man because he has taken Austrelian offroading to another leve
Australia. Not Austrelia.
Thank you for correcting me
Thank you
Hey Ronny , yet another great video mate, keep them coming !
Ivan Todorov this is Justin's own custom built truck he designed and built with his team at patriot campers, not bought.
the King of offroad
The thing looks badass. I can imagine taking my kids to school with it
Carry a load from A-B, something that I like. Never mind the knockers as long as it does what you want.
I can relate to a sore neck. I replaced a clutch on the side of the road in about 5 hrs. My neck felt like I was in a rear end collision the next day.
God it’s great to have money
@Gus Johnson I want to get an old one as my first car. Or the Sidekicks, I like them all.
It's VX80!
@SS AA I agree, it's such a blessing to be wealthy, though I certainly wouldn't squander my hard-earned wealth on such frivolities.
The truck is amazing, Screw what anyone says this needs to go into production I would deffinentlyn buy one or just have you guys build me one. I'm in New York USA
I only watch RUclips on the loo, any hour long gentleman! I have had to fake a tummy bug today and told my wife I have had the shits. She had just come back from the chemist with a load of stuff. Now I feel bad.
Still, great episode
Really nice to hear him say regarding the 70, "Coil conversion and an Auto box."
Over in the UK we never got the 70 but we could get a Japanese Import 70 Prado. Which I own.
It is very underpowered with a 2.4D from the Hilux but it comes standard with Coils and an Auto!!
Now does anyone know of a spare 1HDFT engine in the UK.
Harvey Smith we also got the 78 prado, same engine and are all stock
I need this in my life.
I think it's a little trippy to see 1980s climate controls in a 2017.. Awesome.. if it ain't broke, don't fix it!
The baddest 6x6 ever, the realest, AUSSIES RULE😎
Love the new drive segment, should be in all your modified segments going forward
Remember the old land cruiser destruction test from Top Gear? Now imagine what this thing is capable of.
Ass a Unimog owner, driver, I will say that Mega is an damn fine vehicle.
The Patriot Games Jeep MOAB desert episode is the best 4x4 ep iv seen 💪🏼🇦🇺..
fantastic emergency services vehicle love the attention to detail in this truck
"Jeepsate for hairdressers"
I seriously spit out my drink!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
ILOOOVE the truck, tho!! Well done!
Ronny’s intros always the best
Love the custom tig welding on the turbo piping it's just such a thing of beauty... so glad you didnt paint over it or grind it smooth I dont think I would change a single thing about that 6x6 .... well sorry I gotta take that back I would change the register from you to my name hahaha great build..... wanna see a proper video of that badass weapon going through some serious muck
An absolute BEAST of a vehicle. Love this.
Best toyata in the wold
I definitely need one in rugged Papua New Guinea,I love it...just loved everything about it...
Awesome rig! After all the work gone into it though during “ the drive “ segment I noticed the front end has about as much flex as a log. In saying that it’s still impressive though
yup,garbage build,300k down the drain,plus,it cant carry 5t,like a real 6x6.so,its a bullshit truck..
My dream car.... for a while... but then realized...
That thing is most likely 300 000$ +
For that money I can buy a Uninomg dubblecab with a an "super fast" portaleaxles... for the 2/10th of the money....
Btw. ...A Queenslander calling Auzies the best engineers I the world....made me giggle...
No hate from me. I would love to own a vehicle like this! Awesome job.
This is my favorite overseas landcruser.
It's funny how the new remote reservoir shock absorbers are top secret and about to be released but they are similar to remote reservoir shocks on dirt bikes from the 80's .... remote reservoir's are pretty old tech.
Finally a thing we can do in Norway which you cant down under, get 37" tires :D
well you can, but we can drive them on regular license hehe
gullf1sk we can drive with them on a regular license too, but the fact that this car has the extra axle raises its load capacity and towing capacity that it puts it into the next weight capacity license
In America you only need a special license for air brakes or over 40000 lbs. No tire size limit....had 44" swampers on a 70blazer very unstable at speed...lol...now have 37" ob 75blazer on 1ton axles....from Wyoming USA 🔫🤠
@@billallen4793 and dont go anywhere off road
@@brocksinclair66 bet me!!! My truck's have NEVER been show queens and get used hard off road....from Wyoming USA 🔫🤠🇺🇸p.s stay safe and healthy everybody GOD BLESS OUR COUNTRY AND stop this foolishness ❤p.s. p.s. lol we have more miles of public land off road than my state has paved roads! 95% of Wyoming truck's get used hard!
@@billallen4793 yeah but everywhere except our cities are 4x4 tracks you guys have over 15x our population with a land mass not much bigger. You can travel 2 hours out of our cities and not see 1 person for weeks
This thing is insane!!! So unbelievably cool!!
That things a beast and I’d be very happy to park it in my driveway!
People criticize cause of jealousy, that is one fricken amazing rig , congrats guys, shes a real head turner, and to hell with the nay sayers
Thanks Mate, greetings from PNG. Awesome video.
THANK RONNY FOR DETAIL ON TOYOTA LANDCRUISER 6X6 AS DID WILD DETAIL
As someone who’s from the USA and has been in Jeeps in the family since the 1970’s I agree with Ronny’s comments about jeeps of later models but they were good not only for 4wd but overlanding or touring back before they were Fiats and I don’t mean anything derogatory or have anything against any nationality sorry I have to say that but so many these days will accuse you of prejudice when you’re just telling the truth
Plenty of very built Toyota's in Moab, lots of 40 series based buggies doing all the hardest lines too.
