+MrAffelboy Henning Wehn made that joke too. He is hilarious, Doesn't need much to make his jokes, but all of them are well thought through and very clever!
I lived in Germany for 28 years and I loved every minute of my life there. I lived in two small villages and one fairly large town. I loved the German's organizational skills. I liked their directness. If I asked a neighbor a question they gave me a very direct and correct answer. I had three beautiful German Warm blood horses and my neighbor told me to make sure that I paid the local vet on the spot because if he had to send me a bill it would cost more. I truly miss Germany and the wonderful German people.
+Magrat Knoblauch i think i read somewhere that jk rowling planned grindelwald to be the equivalent of hitler in the wizard world. but i am not if that is actually true...
+Viv Loh Grindelwald was defeated in 1945. And who else was defeated in 1945? Furthermore, Wald means forest in German. Grindel isn't really a word, but could be a German name.
Funny how the brutal honesty and complaining is also a stereotype of Dutch culture. Also the stingyness applies. So basically the Dutch are the less organised and strict version of Germans, like Germans after some weed.
i think i found the perfect description for the german word "spießer": A Spießer is like the Hobbits in Lord of the Rings - You love your Peace, your House, your Garden and take no risks, no adventures, you follow the great plan for an succesfull and risk free life.
The most misleading and false stereotype is that germans don't have humor. That's a stereotype that others (Britons) have about us and it seems that some people have taken it on board. We do have a great sense of humor. It's just more subtle and dry and interwoven in our language...Play upon words, double meanings.... Often hard to translate and to understand for foreigners.
+Frieda And then there is the whole Kabarett style of humor, which we Anglo-phones don't seem to like or appreciate at all (of course, I can only speak for myself and most of the other students who were in our German language class at the University of Arizona some years ago).
German joke: A German grandfather is complaining about how all that modern kids do nowadays is sit in the house and play first person shooter video games like Call of Duty. "And it's so unhealthy. When I was a teenager we used to go outside and shoot people in the fresh air." .
+Winchester RuleZ I myself find it really funny as well, I am aware of the fact that it's quite inappropriate at times but the funny part is that the film doesn't take itself seriously at all - also it's just the harsh and painful truth because sadly the characters aren't overdrawn at all.... I literally know people like that in every city I've been in. It's just sort of a funny take on reality but I get it it's not everybody's thing :)
Warst du schonmal in Norwegen?
+Vilhelmvonbraun True story. And don't forget the neverending story of snow and Deutsche Bahn. Every year it strikes the Deutsche Bahn by surprise, that it starts to snow in winter. You can't imagine, how many adventures I already had during my years at the university, whenever I tried to get back to Freiburg im Breisgau from my parents house in the middle of the Black Forest.
Great stuff, and a good idea you made this follow up video. Yes it's true, Germans can be brutally honest....it's a cultural thing. On the other side you can also be very honest with them. One more thing....if you have a German friend, he/she is your friend for life. Germans are very loyal. Greetings from Germany.
Yafa, you should do one on how Americans view themselves----BUT perhaps how Californians view themselves, New Yorkers view themselves, or Texans, etc. If not that, perhaps how Californians view New Yorkers, and how New Yorkers view Californians (you've got to do these two)! At the very least, how the West Coast views the East Coast, the South, etc. Great job with your videos. I'm now living in Europe; let me know if you need a correspondent in Switzerland, bro!
+Anthony Stewart I think every coutry has its differences betwen cities and regions. For example in my country- Poland- people from Silesia region think differently than those from East(Podlasie) or Kraków, Poznań, Warsaw...
well you could say we germans are robots and coldhearted: on the outside, because we do think it's a weakness to show your emotions, but we're actually all (...) softies and warmhearted on the inside :) hard shell, soft core ♥
+Intisar Abdullah you can show your emtions at home. in public it just makes you week. you lose your advantage. emotional people present to much of themselves so they are realy easy to manipulate. believe me, in germany everyday is kind of a fight. you are always in competition and cannot make mistakes. if germans notice an emtion that they can use for your disadvantage they will do it. i am german. i live in germany and my skin is brown. i have an obvious disadvantage and over 70% of the people in public try to trap me in some foreigners trap.
+Peter Mayer Maybe you have just Not The requirement for The things you want. Oh no a German criticized a coloured man. Now i am a Nazi :( No now for shure People like you Are really good integrated if they want. Look at poland for bad example, you wont be happy.
+Peter Mayer What are you talking about? Of course you are allowed to show emotion and really...where do you live that every day is a fight? It's not other peoples fault if you have issues with yourself or with your life. You don't like it? Change it then. It's entirely up to you.
After hearing some of their harsh views on Americans, I found this video very refreshing haha. Not only were they brutally honest on their view on Americans, but they called their own bs talking about themselves as well. Great example of their honest culture!
To everyone whos not from germany and wants to take a girl out: We are not insulted in general, if you invite us. You should kindly offer to invite her, but if she wants to pay for her own food / cinematicket / etc you need to let her. For some german women, its important to show, that she has money of her own
@YourМилк It's very kind of you to pay for your male friends, but are you not concern that they might be taking an advantage of you if you are always paying?
I'm a Luxembourger squeezed between huge neighbours (France, Germany and Belgium), I like all of those peoples, but I prefer the Germans by far. Most of all those near our border, the Palatines, the Eifeler, the Moseler and the Saarländer are a bunch of jolly people. They're down-home, committed to high quality work but also fun-loving and bon vivant. They're very self-critical and I think that is what makes them thrive and prosper. And they're solidary. I met a lot of firm owners (famous Mittelstand), and they were all very conscious about the influence of the well-being of their workers on their performance.
Awesome video com ing from an American who speaks really well in German and will visit Germany for the first time next sommer. I cannot wait!!
Great video! Made me miss my Oma und Opa, Though I believe German humor is dry, but those that I've known def. had a sense of humor. Enjoy your videos Yafa
LOL. Germany: "Don't Fuck Up!" America: "Just Do It!" Awesome Vid Bro. Love your work. Keep it up! Thanks for the wonderful watch! I'll be checking out the rest. Peace.
+Johnny Mellon No,just self entitled. They only want equality when it goes in their favor. Ever see that T.V. Show Married with Children. It's an Exaggeration of American Women but not that far off.
Richard III no, never seen it. but it sounds like a reason to stay away from that place... so how does it work there if, say, you go for dinner/lunch with your gf/spous? who pays??
Here is what I think as a foreigner. 1. Routines: Fixed routines planned in advance. Like predictability and dependability. Uncomfortable with the unknown and foreign. 2. Direct: Direct in what they think but not always with what they feel. Will not reveal inner emotions to people they are not close to. Will hide their weaknesses in public. This makes them appear strict. 3. Strict separation of private and public life. Colleagues might have worked for 30 years with each other but know almost nothing about each other except work. 4. Opinionated: Especially older people will generally stick to what they already know even though it might be very little. Like to see things orderly. So everything is either right or wrong and there is little nuance in a discussion. 5. Envy: Always compare themselves with the neighbours and friends. Who has the better car, house etc. 6. German humour is directed at others and not at themselves. 7. Complaining: This is a way to police each other. 8. Conformity: Most conform to a particular pattern of life and stick to it. May not like to give up control.
I must say I'm proud of my fellow Germans for their English knowledge👏 In any other case you would probably sub or dub what the native speakers of another language have to say about a topic
I really appreciate their directness. Sometimes I get frustrated by the need to stick with the plan no matter what; but us Americans are a bit quick to toss the plan. I was asked if I had to live in Europe for a while where I would want to go and my German colleagues expected me to say England, but were surprised when I said Germany but not in a large city.
Goku of Earth We’re fake more so than anything else and dishonest with others, and even wicked with each other. At least they own up to their wrongful ways whereas we overlook or hide them.
I was in a german hotel ones... the power plugs on the wall were all labelled with "Stecker 1", "Stecker 2" and so on. (Which literally means power plug number 1, power plug number 2....
I trained in germany for machining work for 2 weeks. They were less effecient but more orderly if that makes any sense. People were expected to just run 1 kind of machine instead of knowing an entire department. Things were cleaner, better organized. Managent was involved more with the processes, but micromanaged the tools rather than the people. It all just seemed kind of automated in a way, optimal in process efficiency but not squeezing every drop out of each worker the way that I'm used to. Very interesting and probably healthier for the long term.
lies my german teacher is never on time for work and in NO way is she strict or organized she is a snob she is always talking about the negative stuff about other parts of the world and talks about germany like its perfect she doesnt know anything about amarica or amaricans and i know this sounds so mean but if you just spent 10 minutes in her class you would totally agree with me
not all german teachers come from germany as same as the english teachers and this points in the video is about the most of the germans and not everyone and being on time is in germany very important rly i can tell u im a german
my teachers arent much on time. There is one teacher who is a mother of 3 and she is almost never at work. Never. And she doesnt inform us about it. And whats worse is that we come in the morning only to find out we came in vain and we wait for 70 minutes for another classes. Last year she came MAYBE for 2 months all together. And she doesnt know whos the president of germany lolol
fruchtbeavis most of the Germans can speak English very well. Especially younger people have a good English because this language got very important since the 90s. For a few years german children learn english since the first grade so they have to learn it for at least 10 years. (Most children learn it for 12/13 years) English is also very important in the internet because we watch lots of english series and films or watch english you tube videos. Generally you can get many problems if you aren't able to speak English.
thanks, actually one who likes us ;-) i have read so rude comments about us, but the videos were there to show stereotypes, not the trues, you could't put all germans or americans together, because we are all different
I'm German and I have lived in North and South Germany. The way I got to know Germans: North Germans seem more distant and even kinda shy in the beginning or when you only know them from the distance. After breaking the ice North German people will become your closest and dearest friends... maybe for lifetime. South Germans seem to be more open to strangers.. at least in the beginning but it's all in a very superficial way. Not that "honest" like the North is. There is more sugar-coating behaviour. It's very very difficult to start "really" deep friendships with South Germans. To them it's more like "my closest friends are the people that I grew up with in my town and that are from the same place." They are nice to foreigners in small talks (around the Lake Constance they even call North Germans "foreigners" sometimes) but you probably won't become their "friend".
I can't share the opinions of those people, but it's typical for Berlin. If you would ask that question in Cologne or Hamburg, you would get totally different answers, i bet. There is too much stereotyping in what they say.
100%. Im from nearby of Koln and Dortmund. Literally what youll hear is that Germans dont know how to speak German correctly and its a problem. And the »on time» obsession isnt there. These folks are cocky and delusional.
Yeah the west is very different from the east and south I'm living near the border to the Netherlands and I have family in Hamburg, Berlin and in Bavaria Such huge differences
As a German-American I definately fit the mold..always on time, prepared, and organized. Very smart people except when it comes to choosing leaders..Hitler, Merkel, etc.
This was Eye Opening.. like, we all have that Nazi tied history lingering never too far from when we think of Germans but it's because of that I've been quite fond of their cultural identity.. and having it come from the horses mouth, it serves me rightfully so to have the interest I have in Germany and it's people. The shirtless dude with the locs was on point and the same can be said about the other lady with the shades.. lol FlyingKites rn but subscribing lol
I don't like the language, because i have to learn it in school and it's a really complicated language for dutch children to learn. And almost no one in my class understands it😂. But i love how clean they are😂 And Berlin of course💕 ughh beautiful city!👌
+TheFooFights Well, the guy was saying the truth. Even if it doesn't apply to every woman, which would've been a surprise, most women are independent enough to to pay for their own food, as they are looking for a partner instead of a caretaker.
All they had to say was "We are emotionless robots that cannot compute Americans happiness" got it, no biggie. No worries, makes sense now. Cool. You make no mistakes and are always right. Umm, you tried that once before...did not work out so well. Boo for me bringing that up, but a bigger "Boo" for you acting that way now. Again. Since that did not work, perhaps consider Americans that are happy to be there not being fake, but honestly happy to be there. Maybe smile and tell them some beautiful things to see in your country. Maybe have a laugh and ask a bit about them and why they _chose_ to visit your country out of the entire world. No American trips on the sidewalk and lands in Germany. We are not fake, but sincerely happy to be there. Consider that.
I mean technically you have german background but that doesnt make you a real german. To me, being part of the culture and speaking the language makes you a real german
You guys probably just think you are unpunctual. If you come 10 minutes late to a meeting you'll get death stares. If the bus or train is delayed by 10 minutes German people consider that late and begin to grumble. Whereas that sense of time would be way different for other cultures. I once took a train in Vietnam which arrived 1 hour before departure and thought "damn they pretty on time here" when I realised that train was actually the one from the previous day and just 1 day delayed.
It really is true that most of the people i know dont want to " fuck up ". One could almost say we're afraid to fail and that we always want to do everything to perfection
I am a German Scottish and Scandinavian American. I was based in England and Germany in the armed forces. And I enjoy and like the heritage of the old world. I think a lot of them keep to their heritage way more than we Americans do. Unfortunately in America today all these races are Thinking the more of our race the more we can take over American culture. They do it knowingly and unknowingly. That's why in Germany there is a lot of internal strife with radical foreign intervention. And throughout all of Europe
anastácia. Indeed German, but I'm actually unemployed (cuz I'm 18) so I wouldn't necessarily say I work hard. As for the comparisons between nations I think it's a bit superficial to base diligence only on actual hours worked. There are other factors that contribute to that construct, like productivity for example (how much shit do you get done in your hours worked).
Totally agree with you. I've talked to people who worked in Germany and other countries throughout their lifes, and they said germans don't work harder than any other nations (of course on average). That beeing said, it is just a stereotype that germans work so damn hard, they work like everybody else.
Enjoyed the video. I am looking forward to visiting Germany soon and was surprised that so many Germans seem to speak so well in English. Should make visiting Germany more pleasant than my perception of German hospitality. Everybody that Yafa talked to seemed like very nice persons. Hopefully it wasn't editing, but reality.
Im from Bavaria but im more like an American then a German because of the huge influence in my Childhood I Skate ..I dont like the German Language ..My 2 Ex GF where American I always watch Shows in English ...I love American Food....America has a fucked up History ...Germany has a fucked up History ...there are stupid rasist People in every Country...but also really good and friendly people Can we stop the bashing and learn to respect eathother .
I worked for a German automotive company in the states, been to Germany and love the country and the people. They to me seem more outgoing than most Americans , perfectionist , very structured and process oriented. I’d live there in a heartbeat.
It is funny to watch this in contract to their view of Americans. Good luck with your perfect, timely, and precise choice of Angela Merkel. One thing Americans do well is self criticize and reflect. Our system isn't perfect and breeds a lot of self ridiculousness but we back it up with results... Our ship will right itself without the need for intervention of other countries. Your ship, the Euro, might be in need of some heavy repairs about now, and I like Germany... Good luck, please save your country.
if it is one country in europe who should rule over other countries it should be germany, they are always looking out for other countries sometimes they do this and it work against her, germany has done very much for us and they don get credit for this, its sad to see
Americans and self critisist? Sorry, but to me it seems, like the only thing you guys care about ist waving your flag and shouting "America first". Not about politics or something but about your patriotism...
If I ask, 'Do you mean..?' it's not due to anything but the need to understand something. If I correct someone's english it's because I wish them to learn. I would encourage being corrected, especially in other languages that I may be learning.
Ulincorn They also speak "ordinary german". What you mean is their dialect, but for example Berlin also has a dialect called "berlinerisch". This doesn't mean that everyone there speaks like this or can understand them.
Was kommst du? Ich komme aus Colorado! Deustchland ist sehr gut. Btw, Germans say they are on time which is true but the Swiss-German put them to shame!
I'm a German American citizen, and been to Germany many times to see family. Gotta say, Germany feels very put together. Houses are taken care of, stores are next level, healthier lifestyle and pretty accepting. I wouldn't say that Germans are emotionless, but instead of smiling and complementing constantly they show their appreciation and kindness through other means. They also choose when to show emotion, which makes it more meaningful. BUT, gotta say the best thing in Germany is having fresh bread everywhere you go, even gas-stations have a large selection of pretty fresh bread while in America you'd be lucky to find a loaf of bland white bread. Plus the spreads put on bread is amazing, there are hundreds while in America you just get butter and cream cheese. The worst thing is the lack of Air conditioning!
@ David Andersen : No.. Everything that they are saying is actually true.. If you ever come to Germany and you have experiences in interacting with them, you'll know this is really typical cultures of German people.. Most of Germans people are smart, open minded, always on time and efficient. They are also highly discipline and well organized..
I can relate to how you view yourself. Some Americans are similar. I'm not cheerful. I have a strange since of humor. Kind of sarcastic in a way. People have to get to know me to understand. I'm too honest for most. I don't know too much about Germany. But most of what I learn I find interesting. Stay awesome Germany! :-)
It's shocking that the Germans repeat the same stupid stereotypes about themselves that other people have! Quite some nonsense. Always on time, honest and perfectionist? Ha, how funny! Look at the unfinished Berlin Airport e.g., that's how organised and on time we are!
I can't really agree on much in this video, except that we do say "I have to" a lot (at least I do), and are - sometimes brutally - honest, as was shown in this video. I also have to agree on some comments saying, that we are a very insecure nation and therefore pick up on other countries stereotypes about us. For example I don't think we are always on time, at least not more than any other country. In fact I can't think of anyone that isn't late at least every other day. Especially the "Deutsche Bahn" seems to be in a loving relationship with the word "Verspätung" (delay). Aside from that I did love that video (except these accents, for some reason the only accent I can't stand, is my own peoples, when they try talking English) and will check more of your videos out. Greetings from Berlin :)
Also, I keep being told from my german teachers and friends how much of an issue it is in Germany that Germans cant speak their own language correctly. My german friend read 6 articles from 4 different newspapers and 4 out of 6 had serious spelling or grammatical errors. My own German teacher said: WIE VIEL TAGE.. and then when we told him his mistake he was confused. And it happened more than once. Its sad that pride makes them blind.
How many Germans do you need to change a light bulb?
One, because we are efficient and have no sense of humor.
Lol thats funny
+Lana Castillo No, its not.
Lunor
it is funny to me. if it's not funny to you then that's your feeling. are you telling me what and how I should feel? how dare you
Lana Castillo I was just being Sarcastic because MrAffelboy said, we dont have a Sense of Humor.
+MrAffelboy Henning Wehn made that joke too. He is hilarious, Doesn't need much to make his jokes, but all of them are well thought through and very clever!

My mother lived in Nazi Germany and hated every second. My family never missed them.
@@semsemeini7905 And how exactly is that connected to what Douglas said? Different times, different people.
I'm like literally the worst German 😂 I'm pretty much always late and extremely unorganised 😂 yayx

+Anneloes Barth that is kinda true... dutch people are funnier though
Historically Dutch were known as Low Germans, even if that's insulting now
The Dutch were pretty much a German kingdom that became independent. Just like Switzerland and Liechtenstein.
+Anneloes Barth
The Dutch are Germanys little brother!
+Anneloes Barth best comment :'D
i think i found the perfect description for the german word "spießer": A Spießer is like the Hobbits in Lord of the Rings - You love your Peace, your House, your Garden and take no risks, no adventures, you follow the great plan for an succesfull and risk free life.
Jinx is mai Waifu Yes it fits very well.
Sounds so boring, life is supposed to be an adventure.
I don’t think it is like that at all. I would rather say that about some other countries.
🤣👍🏻
Well, to be fair......the last time Germans took a BIG risk........it didn't end well for them.
damn that shirtless dude killin it in every interview
+Nik Laze he's kind hot, dad bod whoop!
+Nik Laze Those Muslim women did not look like they approved.

As a german i approve of this joke. It`s hilarious!
P.s. still laughing.. Edit: ...and still drunk
It is a pity that Deutsche Bahn (trains) are not on time. If you travel in Germany you will learn the word Verspätung very quickly.
My experience with DB is mainly from the Augsburg region going both to München and to Stuttgart. So sort of the south of Germany. :)

Maybe its True that we are always on time and thats why we rage so much over Verspätung. Are 5-10 Minutes Average normal in other countries?
Do Americans vs Americans. Maybe even In different regions of the U.S.
Like the vid btw. Very interesting.
yugyhs OIO yes! now that would interesting. And if it was across different age groups
Bad idea, there would be civil war.
Germans also speak very good English
LEO Messi thanks I appreciate that. Sometimes I find myself getting annoyed when some says ssse instead of the. But thanks again

One more thing....if you have a German friend, he/she is your friend for life. Germans are very loyal. Greetings from Germany.
Nooo Germans are NOT honest
Time , time, time, on time, oh and did I mention that we are always on time?
oh and did I mention we are the best people in the world
+Dylan Fontaine Nope... cuz nobody thinks that.
nobody.... pretty confident on that are you
Ye
... I'm always on time ... not really cuz i'm always 2 early... and have 2 wait ...
+Anthony Stewart Also Floridians, they can be very... Bro-y and superficial.
Don't forget the Midwest!!!
+Anthony Stewart I think every coutry has its differences betwen cities and regions. For example in my country- Poland- people from Silesia region think differently than those from East(Podlasie) or Kraków, Poznań, Warsaw...
i would live in germany just because of that friendly shirtless guy haha
i kept wondering why he was topless...lol
+VogueHaven drunk? haha BTW are you german
Ditty kong nope, i just respect the people and the country.
+VogueHaven yep, me too
why shouldn't he?
+Caramel Victim hahahaha xD
+Elena Shiner Speaka ze English.
+James T Kirk I do.
Elena Shiner Was joking... I become a hamburger now.
well you could say we germans are robots and coldhearted: on the outside, because we do think it's a weakness to show your emotions, but we're actually all (...) softies and warmhearted on the inside :) hard shell, soft core ♥
Why is it "weak" too show emotion personally I think it makes you stronger
+OFWGKTA666999 Shut up stupid little racist thing.
Now i am a Nazi :(
No now for shure People like you Are really good integrated if they want.
For some german women, its important to show, that she has money of her own
+Hime007 I wanna meat that type of girl! Had to always pay :/
Glaub mir. ;)
freu mich drauf!
@YourМилк
It's very kind of you to pay for your male friends, but are you not concern that they might be taking an advantage of you if you are always paying?
Yo that poor girls ice cream, its been melting since the last video.
Corey Jenkins Which part of Germany will you visit? Because there can be big differences :)
I will visit Heidelberg, Munich ,Balvaria ,and Biberach. why do you ask? Also I speech Hoch German so communicating really should not be an issue.
heidelberg is awesome
I can't wait!
Bavaria is great too, I live in west germany but I've been in Bavaria for many times and there's a great scenery with lots of friendly people :)
Structured, on time, hard working, disciplined. Perfect soldiers....
One stereotype I never had before watching these two videos is that apparently Germany has a big bee problem...
+Bokks87 ...it was only the last summer, because of the high temperatures, it is not always like that.
+Bokks87 it was insane this year. but it's not always like that
+Bokks87 dont know about that......but Hamburg has a big PEE problem....
+mhatan GRAUZAHN hahahaha echt jetzt?
noja...zumindest um die reeperbahn..
I hope this explains the brutality in the previous episode. :-)
+TheYafaShow Sadly...it does. ;-)
+TheYafaShow Man a little disapointed that Germans are on time. XD I am a german and i am nearly never on time. XD
+scott Evil haha, i have the same problem, wish this wouldn´t be such a big thing here :-D
crimsonghost yeah right? Beeing on time means waiting for others to be late XD
+crimsonghost yeah. i suspect i'd fit in better in italy.
Peace.
I love your attitude while interviewing: smiling, understanding. Awesome!
Women pay for themselves? I'm moving to Germany
+TheGentleShark women don´t do that in your country?
+Johnny Mellon Nope.
Richard III are they all broke or something?
+Johnny Mellon No,just self entitled. They only want equality when it goes in their favor. Ever see that T.V. Show Married with Children. It's an Exaggeration of American Women but not that far off.
Richard III no, never seen it. but it sounds like a reason to stay away from that place...
so how does it work there if, say, you go for dinner/lunch with your gf/spous? who pays??
Great concept! Loved it :D
4:44 oh the irony.. complaining about people who complain too much!
May not like to give up control.
great video:)
+Siljeeke Thanks Siljeeke!
Ah this was great! I haven't been to Germany yet, but I am planning on it. My brother loved Germany and he actually wants to move back.
I was impressed by how very clean the country is
I like Germany. From Croatia.
1:55 eat your ice cream honey
I really enjoy the comments below your videos... it's nice to see when people around the world come together and share their thoughts and opinions.
Haha, That melting ice cream @ 1:56 tho
I must say I'm proud of my fellow Germans for their English knowledge👏
In any other case you would probably sub or dub what the native speakers of another language have to say about a topic
+sn3192 Wiedermal, herzlichen Dank! Mach's gut!
Mal so nebenher gefragt: Hast du Germanistik studiert? Oder unterrichtest du Deutsch? Das ist Wahnsinn. Thumbs up.
Vielen Dank!
I really appreciate their directness. Sometimes I get frustrated by the need to stick with the plan no matter what; but us Americans are a bit quick to toss the plan. I was asked if I had to live in Europe for a while where I would want to go and my German colleagues expected me to say England, but were surprised when I said Germany but not in a large city.
i thought they all ware talking about us japanese until hearing ”equal split",even on the first date".
german women are literally independent.
opps...were*
*were
And they say Americans are self centered lol
Goku of Earth We’re fake more so than anything else and dishonest with others, and even wicked with each other. At least they own up to their wrongful ways whereas we overlook or hide them.
i've lived in 4 different countries on 4 different continents, so let me tell you this... everyone is self centered ;)
@@1983simi facts everyone thinks like this 'they think there better than us but were actually the best"
I was in a german hotel ones... the power plugs on the wall were all labelled with "Stecker 1", "Stecker 2" and so on. (Which literally means power plug number 1, power plug number 2....
so what's the point?
I think he wanted to confirm the "well-organized" aspect which was named in the video.
At the Chinese-German fusion restaurant, the food is delicious but an hour later you're hungry for power.
Look at that ice cream at 1:57 haha
I trained in germany for machining work for 2 weeks. They were less effecient but more orderly if that makes any sense.
People were expected to just run 1 kind of machine instead of knowing an entire department. Things were cleaner, better organized. Managent was involved more with the processes, but micromanaged the tools rather than the people. It all just seemed kind of automated in a way, optimal in process efficiency but not squeezing every drop out of each worker the way that I'm used to. Very interesting and probably healthier for the long term.
That girls ice cream is going to melt...
Love these series on how a nation is viewed... Very interesting & fun to watch
lies
my german teacher is never on time for work and in NO way is she strict or organized she is a snob
she is always talking about the negative stuff about other parts of the world and talks about germany like its perfect
she doesnt know anything about amarica or amaricans
and i know this sounds so mean but if you just spent 10 minutes in her class you would totally agree with me
My english teacher is not english
sarah DIY Maybe she knows America?? :D Jokes aside, there are morons in every country so I guess your German teacher is a moron :D
Scharfe Limo wow
not all german teachers come from germany as same as the english teachers and this points in the video is about the most of the germans and not everyone
and being on time is in germany very important rly i can tell u im a german
my teachers arent much on time.
Is this completely recorded in Berlin? Some people in this video speak such a perfect english. The woman with glasses and necklace for instance.
yes it is
fruchtbeavis most of the Germans can speak English very well. Especially younger people have a good English because this language got very important since the 90s. For a few years german children learn english since the first grade so they have to learn it for at least 10 years. (Most children learn it for 12/13 years) English is also very important in the internet because we watch lots of english series and films or watch english you tube videos. Generally you can get many problems if you aren't able to speak English.
germany has a very good school System. It's not hard to find people there who speak perfect english
I love the German people.
+Sonya D. That´s cute
+Sonya D. Danke!
thanks, actually one who likes us ;-) i have read so rude comments about us, but the videos were there to show stereotypes, not the trues, you could't put all germans or americans together, because we are all different
Aww...I'm blushing. I truly do love the people, the culture, the language, and the country. I can't wait to visit soon.
+Sonya D. lol Danke
Yeah the west is very different from the east and south
I'm living near the border to the Netherlands and I have family in Hamburg, Berlin and in Bavaria
Such huge differences
As a German-American I definately fit the mold..always on time, prepared, and organized. Very smart people except when it comes to choosing leaders..Hitler, Merkel, etc.
I love germans, very good people, do everything you can to perserve your beautiful culture
Good show man!. Happy to Subscribe today.
They're like New Yorkers brief and to the point.
also like the Dutch
This was Eye Opening..
like, we all have that Nazi tied history lingering never too far from when we think of Germans but it's because of that I've been quite fond of their cultural identity.. and having it come from the horses mouth, it serves me rightfully so to have the interest I have in Germany and it's people.
The shirtless dude with the locs was on point and the same can be said about the other lady with the shades.. lol
FlyingKites rn but subscribing lol
I don't like the language, because i have to learn it in school and it's a really complicated language for dutch children to learn. And almost no one in my class understands it😂. But i love how clean they are😂 And Berlin of course💕 ughh beautiful city!👌
Esmée Veen German is difficult for Dutch people, really? 😳
Dutch and German are really similar. I'm a German and never learned dutch and still i can understand some phrases
I met a German guy once, and he was the most kind person that I've ever met. So he now is my stereotypical German.
I'm a German girl and I WANT YOU TO PAY FOR MY FOOD ON A DATE
Germans: we are organized
visits japan..
Japan is great too.. Germany is like "Japan of Europe" and Japan is like "Germany of Asia".. 😊😊
OMG... the cutie with glasses at 4:36 is so adorable!!! :)
I'm German and i'm ALWAYS late. Always. I don't live in in Germany so that explains but really i'm always late like fuck my school is gonna kill me.
I mean technically you have german background but that doesnt make you a real german. To me, being part of the culture and speaking the language makes you a real german
I'm physically not able to be on time
You guys probably just think you are unpunctual.
Nam Di This is a quite interesting perspective and you might be right...
It really is true that most of the people i know dont want to " fuck up ". One could almost say we're afraid to fail and that we always want to do everything to perfection
Germans: Good at football, crap at wars.
COMMON SENSE Well Germany won the European Championship of American Football in 2001, 2010 and 2014 so you have a point.
Very interesting. Thanks for the video!
Spießer is like square, conservative, small minded
I am a German Scottish and Scandinavian American. I was based in England and Germany in the armed forces. And I enjoy and like the heritage of the old world. I think a lot of them keep to their heritage way more than we Americans do. Unfortunately in America today all these races are Thinking the more of our race the more we can take over American culture. They do it knowingly and unknowingly. That's why in Germany there is a lot of internal strife with radical foreign intervention. And throughout all of Europe
One rule in Germany: you have to complain about how hard you are working!
Even thou they work less hours a day than most countries!
anastácia. Less hours =/= less work
Pig Floyd I would say you are German and believe you work harder than other nations, right ?
That beeing said, it is just a stereotype that germans work so damn hard, they work like everybody else.
anastácia. completely agree
Im from Bavaria but im more like an American then a German because of the huge influence in my Childhood
I Skate ..I dont like the German Language ..My 2 Ex GF where American
I always watch Shows in English ...I love American Food....America has a fucked up History ...Germany has a fucked up History ...there are stupid rasist People in every Country...but also really good and friendly people
Can we stop the bashing and learn to respect eathother .
Good luck, please save your country.
if it is one country in europe who should rule over other countries it should be germany, they are always looking out for other countries sometimes they do this and it work against her, germany has done very much for us and they don get credit for this, its sad to see
No, I don't think some country should rule Europe. Germany as a country is a good model for Europe, as it's very decentralized a state of regions.
True, nowhere in the world the self help / self improvement industry is bigger than in the US:
Americans and self critisist? Sorry, but to me it seems, like the only thing you guys care about ist waving your flag and shouting "America first". Not about politics or something but about your patriotism...
If I ask, 'Do you mean..?' it's not due to anything but the need to understand something. If I correct someone's english it's because I wish them to learn. I would encourage being corrected, especially in other languages that I may be learning.
How Germans view Bavarians? Bavarians always wear Lederhosen(GERMAN APROVED).
Bavarians aren't German! xD
But... it's true. :D
DaeRaYne Bavaria IS a part of Germany. It's a “Bundesland“. It's like California in the USA.
Rosalie Hale
But they don't really speak german. They speak a weird german that no one understands.
Ulincorn They also speak "ordinary german". What you mean is their dialect, but for example Berlin also has a dialect called "berlinerisch". This doesn't mean that everyone there speaks like this or can understand them.
Ulincorn
Looks like no one here has a sense of humor. Let's go play in the sandbox. :3
P.s.: Bavarians aren't german. :3
Honest, on time, hard workers, things are done to a conclusion, organized? Don't mind being corrected? Love it!

+Netbase2000 yeah it has been awhile since I spoke German so thx for correctly me
I travel frequently and noticed Germans are the most travelled people. It seems like no matter where I go, I meet Germans.
"Germans have control issues that run really deep in our culture."
No kidding.
This can't be accurate. They sound so full of themselves, I mean they sound very egotistical.
Sounds like Germany needs a bit of American Optimism!!
Substitutional for our oil? :D
nooooooo please Not
No we don't need any more Capitalist
What is wrong with that it works for us!

Damn... This video is so fucking cringy. And I'm german
Hey nice channel! try not to close the mic so much to their mouths it looks weird! (sometimes) just sub had fun watching this!
I like Germans because they all are so humor starved that they even laugh hysterically at my stupid jokes
great video make more like these please!
just please dont piss em off for a 3rd time
Hey Yafa, you do a good job interviewing man.
It's shocking that the Germans repeat the same stupid stereotypes about themselves that other people have! Quite some nonsense. Always on time, honest and perfectionist? Ha, how funny! Look at the unfinished Berlin Airport e.g., that's how organised and on time we are!
haha da hast du recht..
The Germans are only on time when they murdered Jews and Gypsies and stole from Jews even after Reunification. Ask my mother.
Ve're so awesomes and zee trains are on times
the trains in Germany are always late.
That's oh so true ;) A little bit more "german punctuality" wouldn't be bad...;)
+JoOnas
Yeah but ask a foreigner and they think you are crazy.
It is always perspective!
no hahaha the trains are fucked up
Also, I keep being told from my german teachers and friends how much of an issue it is in Germany that Germans cant speak their own language correctly. My german friend read 6 articles from 4 different newspapers and 4 out of 6 had serious spelling or grammatical errors. My own German teacher said: WIE VIEL TAGE.. and then when we told him his mistake he was confused. And it happened more than once. Its sad that pride makes them blind.
