Just the shadow animated was a lot hard to digest, if we add the scream, it would have been catastrophic.

It felt more disturbing without the sound as you didn't know how horrifying the sound would be! Thank freaking God the baby doesn't make any noise and didn't do any bloodcurdling scream that I expected to have! Although the music and eating sound effects is still creepy as hell!
Well... having the baby wail could have been intended before the management at Cyberdreams gave the order to scrap this part of the story.

You know, I was wondering why Benny said “Jesus, I’m hungry” when he looked at the empty baby cradle, or why AM said he sent Benny to the jungle to “indulge his hunger”. Well, now we know why. Good ol Harlan Ellison being told to dial it down, yet again 😂
Fun fact:
Ellison only wrote about 20% of the dialog for IHNMAIMS! And it was David Mullich who was told to tone it down by the general manager of Cyberdreams.
@@StarlightPumpkins That is very interesting information. Despite being toned down there are still a ton of moments that were downright disturbing or unsettling.
One can only imagine what an unhinged version of this story could have been like.
The game would certainly feel more complete. As it stands, the scenarios for Benny and Ellen are lacking in moral choices to make.
@@StarlightPumpkins Ellen especially could have used that compelling scenarios. Her only real struggle was overcoming her past trauma instead of making some kind of life or death choice.
@@Burning-Twilight Here’s an idea for Ellen having a “good” and “bad” choice: what if AM made it look like she was at her old job with all her old co-workers, and she could have had the option to either head into the elevator herself…or let one of her oblivious co-workers get in the elevator, first 👀

I feel like AM forcing benny into something like this isnt all that bad. Its not like this is an actual baby or anything. It comes down to a perspective thing, eat this bundle of data that is being presented as a cruel joke on your "animalistic" instinct or suffer even more for no other reason than "not giving in". Even in the end when Ted releases the others from their suffering it is only a victory for him because of his view on the situation

its not an actual baby? how do you know? he has access to human dna. he HAS physically devolved benny. his control over the physical world is absolute, and while i’m sure some of this is illusory we have no reason to believe that all of it is. these babies may very well be real, and they may only exist for AM to watch benny eat them.

TFW the point and click adventure game ACTUALLY let's you do what you want instead of stopping you, regrettably, this time you wanted to do something you shouldn't have done.
While I'm glad a bit of lost media was found, this scene is kind of contradicting. Benny literally can't eat. If eating a prehistoric peach makes his jaw muscles bleed, how would eating a baby be different.
That and it's overall subject matter I can see why this was cut
It's because the baby's flesh would be extremely delicate and easy to rip off the body... Man, sometimes you just kinda type something and go "Wow, I wish I didn't have to type that", ya know
Keep in mind, AM doesn't want Benny to eat fruit. He sent him to this cyber jungle to indulge in his bestial desires.

Holy shit! I was active in searching for the pre-release build with the Lost Media Wiki several years ago, but my search never got anywhere. What an amazing find/restoration - I hope we can still find the other missing scenes someday!

The music that plays has the same type of aesthetic as the demo loop song, which is known to be a song made during the beta before the OST's style was changed completely iirc, quite a shame because I find the beta style way more chilling.

I'm surprised that there is no mod to restore the cut content. You'd think that someone would've done it by now, especially with the age of the game.
Sadly, I don't believe there are any mod tools available that can be utilized for this game.

Is there anything else on the disc? I know there's some stuff in Gorristers scenario that was either cut/heavily revised for the final version
Regarding Gorrister's scenario, there is an unused line of dialog in reference to the corpses that used to be strung up on the meat hooks. As for the beagle cutaway and other unused background art, I'm unable to find them; I presume that stuff was cut much earlier in development.

So tell me, what'd you do here? Is Benny's dialogue there lost files, or constructed from other dialogue in it? Cause it sounds a bit odd. Also the eating sound, is that a lost file? I assume AM's is.
Second, is this a constructed video, or did you actually reinsert this into the game itself? If so, do you have any plans to make it affect the spiritual barometer, and releasing it as a mod?

While I have you though, what's the context of the puppy thing that got cut out? Or is that even known? I know it's Gorrister, but I can't really tell looking at the sequence what is happening there.
From my understanding, the beagle existed solely to tug on the player's heartstrings by making them view the dog up close, and excited to see somebody, before electrocuting it.
In the final product, there's still a dog visible if you look into the cages. However, it's only shown as a small shadow.
I'm presuming this was censored for the same reason as the content in this video, to satisfy the retailers.

Not exactly sure where to ask this question - but I remember coming across a webpage a long long time ago that was like a text walkthrough of the game with some screenshots for good measure. I recall it being well written, but I've never been able to find it since then. If anyone knows of any websites that are like that, let me know. I'd love to read through the guide again.

The cutaway and all associated voice lines are still present (unused) on the retail disc. Once I found the main course, I started going through all the audio files for Benny's scenario until I found what you hear now.

I was unable to find any other unused cutaways on the retail disc. I am working on tracking down a beta build of the game, however. In the meanwhile, I will upload more cut content from this version when I get the chance.

Unfortunately, I was unable to find that cutaway. I think it may have been scraped at an earlier point in development.

It's amalgamated together using lost files that are put back together. The game mechanics probably aren't at play here. It they are, then there's probably no set path in the file that says to affect the spiritual barometer one way or the other for doing something that isn't registered in there.
That said... I assume this would've been an auto-loss... Maybe?

What he said. However, if this remained an option in the final product, it may not have been a game over. You can choose to do a variety of immoral actions in the scenarios for Gorrister, Ted, and Nimdok without failing the chapter.
