Hi Erin Thanks a lot, very useful tutorial. I am trying to convert all my footnotes to endnotes. Eventhough I choose the arabic numbers, when they are transformed as endnotes, they appear in Roman numbers. Can you help me please? TKs
Hello, Cecilia. Thank you for watching my video! You can change your endnote numbers through the following steps:(1) Select the References tab, (2) Select the dialog box launcher in the Footnotes group, (3) Select "Endnotes" at the top of the Footnotes and Endnotes dialog box, (4) Select a new format in the Number Format menu, (5) Select "Whole Document" in the Apply Changes To menu, (6) Select the Apply button. Best of luck!
Thank you Erin for this video! For the list of endnotes can that be the list of my MLA citations? I want to list the endnote as a list of MLA citations at the end of my book and not on the same page so I don't take away the flow of my poetry. Is this the right video to do this?
Thank you for watching! I have a separate tutorial that shows how to create citations and then create a reference list at the end of the document: ruclips.net/video/W_kuvEtqxwU/видео.html. I wish you all the best with your poetry manuscript!
Hi Erin. Very good and short clip to the point :) A question.... sometimes I introduce a footnote in image captions. It helps to inform on sources. I do not understand why can't I do that all the time. Sometimes the software does not allow me to do that. Anyway.... What happens to these footnotes if I want to convert them to endnotes? Thanks.
Hi, thank you for watching my video! I just tested out your scenario of converting a footnote in a caption into an endnote. For me, the footnote became a normal endnote at the end of the document. I am using Word for Office 365 on a Windows 10 machine. I hope that helps!
Thank you for watching! I have a separate tutorial about citations that you may find helpful: ruclips.net/video/W_kuvEtqxwU/видео.html. I wish you all the best with your Word project!
hi, hope u doing well. how can I fax my footnotes and endnotes replacement. when I print or make pdf of my word document, the footnotes and endnotes replaces automatically and even separate two digit numerous as well. plz help me to fix such problem.
Thank you for watching my video. I have never encountered the problem you are describing, so I'm don't have any specific advice. Before printing or creating the PDF, you may want to save the file as Read Only to prevent changes. I hope that helps.
I'm trying to change all footnotes to endnotes, and I followed the part of your video where you took us step-by-step to do just that. However, when I clicked the convert button, it doesn't give me a choice. The only option that I'm being given is to convert all endnotes to footnotes. What do I do to give me the other option?
Thank you for watching! If you already have both footnotes and endnotes in your document, you should have both choices. So, unfortunately, I can't identify the cause of this issue. I encourage you to contact Microsoft support to see if it is currently a known glitch. I wish you all the best with your Word project!
Thank you for watching! I don't know why your convert button is grayed out. However, if you are using the EndNote plugin, the "Cite while you write" option may be deselected. As for Google Docs, there are a few third-party add-ons that purport to convert footnotes to endnotes. (When it comes to add-ons, proceed with caution.) Best of luck!
@@erinwrightwriting Thanks for the response. I did them all one by one in the end! I think there had been a problem with the conversion from Google Docs to Word. No big deal.
