Thank you! It took me forty five minutes to figure out what was going wrong, so what finally worked was me starting a brand new document and following these steps fresh. If anyone is having trouble, I recommend you do the same.
I just figured out how to do it on a Mac by trial and error. First convert all your endnotes to footnotes. Then create a new section (new page) at the end of your document. Then re-convert footnotes to endnotes and you should have a new page after the endnotes (under "location" make sure you choose "end of section"). Hope that helps someone else!
I cannot believe there isn't an easier way, I have over 200 endnotes to then re add them at the end of sections will - it mess the document up to then re-layout ? I just want the endnotes to stop so I can add appendices and thanks after, a standard format for all books written... does the word designers not understand this ? many thanks ! :)
I followed the steps and added the Credit, Author, and Index pages after Endnotes. My problem is that the Header of the last section continues on the Endnote pages. I don't know how to change the Header on the Endonote page. Thank you in advance for help.
Thank you! Wondering if anyone has come across this issue... I am adding horizontally oriented pages at the end after the endnotes, but for some reason, one endnote page is picking up that section and making an unintended horizonal page. I have been working on this for a day :( please help. It's the only thing left for me to fix.
Hello... This was a good solution for the problem... But when i tried in my word file, i was unable to create section break & make the endnotes stay after that particular section... Can u suggest for this....??
I am working on a MacBook pro. After right-clicking on the endnote, the following window does not have the 'endnote option' listed in the drop-down window. How can I add a new section after the endnotes on MacBook?
Why does this have to be so complicated when it's such a common operation? There should be an easy way to just insert another section after endnotes. Thank you for the video.
Doesn't work for me. OK, I finally just started hitting "enter", and low and behold you can get to the next page! Crude, but effective. You do have to live with the line at the top of the page, although I understand that through a bunch of contortions you can remove that too! This will do for me.
definitely did not work for me. I followed this to a T...and it did nothing. the endnotes never moved after changing them to end of section. Man I hate computers
You made this video in 2016 to save my doctoral work in 2023. Thanks a milion! Shukran from the bottom of my heart!
Thanks! I was finally able to add the additional page after endnote following your tips!
Thank you! This was very helpful, and it worked the first time I tried it!
The only solution that helped! Many thanks!

That has not worked for me. I keep trying that and nothing happens. the end notes stay at the end of the document
Thanks! This works in the Windows version but not in Mac. But once somebody does it on Windows it's editable in Mac. Much appreciated!
Concise but useful. U saved me this once
Thanks! I had a difficult time looking for the page settings that contained "suppress endnotes". It was under the custom margins/layout settings.
You gave the one solution I was looking for. Thanks a lot. 😍😍
