↓↓ Are you running an autumn marathon this year? Where? And have you got a time goal in mind? Or have you got any words of support for Anna? Tell us in the comments ↓↓
We only have virtual races right now in SA, so I am training for a 10km virtual race in mid-October (It is part of the Cape Town marathon series). I wish Anna all the best with the Boston qualifier. I am sure she will have a great time in Berlin.
Hey all. I am training for my first 1/2 marathon and I rolled my ankle 1 week ago. It didn’t hurt when I walked but it did when I ran . Took a few days off from running but I walked and did some exercises to help keep everything from stiffening up. Yesterday I did my first run and it felt so good I was able to run at a great pace I almost gave up and adjusted my running shoes realizing I tied one of them too tight . I adjusted my schedule and I do my long run tomorrow. So glad I did that and I can’t wait to run tomorrow. Good luck Anna . Sending positive vibes .
I just love how realisticly you show your training and it's ups and downs. Especially as I'm training for my first marathon this fall and the fact that you share so openly helps a lot with my selfconfidence, that, yes, I can do that too. Fingers crossed for your qualifying time goal☺️
I am a believer that strength and conditioning work are an integral part of the sport of running - not just a nicety. I use a combination of bodyweight, running-specific strength exercises, as well as a running-specific weightlifting routine. The bodyweight work has always been a small part of my routine, but this year I have upped the ante. I now do a bodyweight session after my easier days, and a weightlifting session after my harder days (workouts and long runs). After about 6 weeks of regular strengthwork, I feel like a much more cohesive and coordinated runner (and lifer, for that matter). It really makes tossing my kids around a much more enjoyable task. Cheers and blessings on your marathon effort! I appreciate the documentation of your training.
Great video! I'm training for London so just one more long run to go,a 22 miler on Sunday and then will embrace the taper! Good luck Anna, you've got this!!
I didn't realise smiling helped so much. I do like looking at passengers in cars as sometimes seeing the surprise or smile on their face helps. I also like cheering on other people working hard walking or running and that gives me a boost. I find smiling makes running feel easier or go by faster. No matter how your race goes, you have given it your all, be proud of yourself!
I always love your videos and how real Anna is about training ♥️. I'm kind of new to running (like 9 months now) so this week's going to be my first 10k, had some injuries on the way...
I am running 4 times a week. I have only been running for around 6 months and it doesn’t get any easier does it…well because I am running longer and quicker it doesn’t get easier. I’m a bit scared to even enter a half at the moment but I guess I will have to bite the bullet at some point. Running channel is so motivational and packed with information and it is my running ‘bible’. Anna, lots of good luck to you, I am sure you will crack it. But often it’s more about the journey than the destination and there are many of us following you on your journey x
So glad I finally got a chance to watch this one today. I'm always encouraged by the great Anna (and now Sarah too). You guys are so gutsy to share all of this with us. I'm working towards my second (official) Half Marathon in November and if all goes well this time next stop is the M word (not saying it yet). Watching this reminded me of what Eliud Kipchoge said about trusting in the process and working hard through adversity, and most importantly to set lofty goals because even if you don't make it you will be amazed at your achievements.
I'm training for my first marathon here in Manchester on my 43rd birthday! I've also taken on the Manchester Half as a test race two weeks beforehand. I did my longest run EVER yesterday - 22 miles - and I think your idea for chunking is fantastic. I'm going to use that for the next long run. Also I'm definitely going to start trying out doing more foot-specific exercises. I smashed my ankle to pieces in 2016 so that foot is often a lot weaker. Thank you so much to you and to Sarah for these videos. They encourage me so much to keep going and believe I might actually be able to do this!
I'm due to run my first marathon (Brighton) in 7 days and fortunately avoided injury and sickness so far. Excited but nervous. Aiming at anything between 4-5 hours.
@@davebowerman9869 I’m doing ok slightly nervous for my first, I’m a local so have run most of the course. I’m aiming for just under 4. How are you going ?
Great video! I love the focus on the mental aspect. I am currently recovering from a years-long injury and while things are definitely progressing, I still have a long way to go. My first goal is an OCR race, which can help me focus on S & C and postpone running super long distances these first months of being back. I'd also like to share a tip that I was given a while back for the long runs gone wrong. It can feel so frustrating to struggle at an early stage of those when you normally wouldn't, but this experience can be turned upside-down by thinking: "How lucky am I to get to work on the mental focus already, instead of having to run 20 km first". It truly can be a great opportunity to have bad days!
Anna!! Your honesty and authenticity help me so much! Currently getting ready for my first 1/2 Marathon trail run at the end of September. You’re spot on about trusting the process- and putting in the strength and conditioning- I’ve been building my quads, calves & stabilizing muscles to help with the 1,000 ft of elevation gain & loss I’ll experience on race day!!! Keep going! We can do this!
Keep up the great work, Anna! I'm currently training for the City of Oaks Raleigh Marathon (North Carolina, USA) in November, and I'm hoping it happens! This is the 4th (!!) marathon I've signed up for this training cycle (they all keep getting COVID-cancelled), and between the horrific heat of training in the southern U.S. summer and the stretching of my training block (which keeps getting longer as I keep switching marathons - I usually train 14 weeks and by the time I run this it'll be at 22 weeks), I'm so ready to run it and be done! But watching you and Sarah work through the long runs, battle the mental blocks, and work toward your own personal incredible goals has me super inspired. :)
Hello! Shine to you for always being really real with the ups and downs of training. I live for these vlogs and updates. I am currently training for my very 1st marathon... Nov. 7th 2021 NYC Marathon! This has been a bucketlist dream of mine. I've reached my halfway way point in training today... 63 days to go! I'm reaching a point where long runs are getting hard. After figuring out the chaffing (who knew), I've moved on to adding nutrition to my runs and a calf sleeve. My struggle is my feet being super sore at 11miles in. I'm definitely going to try the smiling technique. Chunking is a game changer. Thanks for being an inspiration and helping to get me to race day!!
Attempting a BQ time in December myself, 2nd marathon. I need under 3:35 (59 years young) however have a goal of 3:26. I'm just trying to stay very consistent in my training and get to the start line healthy. I am chunking mine into 2 15ks and then the remainder. Excited for you to give it a go. Start slower and enjoy the miles! The best thing that helped me in my first marathon was to encourage other runners that passed me or I passed. Took my mind off the miles.
Keep up the good work, Anna. Only 1 week until my first ever 10k race. Managed a 19km long run yesterday and I'll be taking it fairly easy for the next week so I'm fresh for the race.
Good going Anna. Glad you got over the illness smoothly. I plan to maybe start Marathon training next year, not bad considering I have muscular dystrophy and was relying on a wheelchair 3 years ago!!
My marathon for the year, Southampton, was run on September 5th: I finished! Given my age (69) and lack of experience (5-years running) I thought it would be somewhat foolhardy to squeeze in another one too soon. However, I am booked for a couple of 10ks in the next four weeks and am looking around for a ten-miler or two before the festive season. I'm really impressed with Anna's programme. She even looked buoyant from her sickbed: all that stuff about smiling has to be true. I'd wish you good luck Anna, but I don't think you need any. I'll wish you fair winds and running friendly weather.
Started running 100 days ago yesterday. Could not run a mile, 16 minute walk/run. Ran my first 10k, 10:25/mile pace on my 100th day! Goal is 5k below 20 minutes by 365 days, then start training for a marathon for the second year. Love your content!
Training for a marathon in November in Arkansas. I haven't run all the way through a marathon without bonking before so my main goal is to run the entire way and the keys are following my training plan and fueling appropriately. Good luck Anna and trust the training! You can do it.
Well I am currently in Week 6 of 14 in my training before the Indianapolis marathon. To see how I have made it this far without significant injury is incredible, yet I am finding myself managing plantar fasciitis, with far more stretching and strength exercises. Thank God for the bands used for exercises! Today I had a mental breakthrough during my 5 mile run. I realized the major problem I had while running was my breathing. So while I was on the treadmill, I focused on deep, rhythmic breathing that worked for me, while maintaining my goal marathon pace, and afterwards I didn't even feel out of breath. Now I thought it had to be too good to be true, but my confidence shot way up as a result. I could run far more efficiently, last longer, and feel far less winded, simply by focusing on quality breathing. Side note: Anna, I understand you were sick, but you have beautiful hair. Just thought I'd give a little compliment. Otherwise, keep up the training and you got this! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for taking us along in your training! You're going to kill it! This has some great info I'll take with me into my long runs and races. I just did my 53k (33 mile) yesterday, but I underestimated the brutality of the elevation... 10,400 ft. I wound up dropping to the 35.4k (22 mile) distance with about half the field. Now I'm kicking myself, and looking for "just one more race" before our icy snowy winter kicks in!
Training for the calgary marathon ( my first ) . Currently 2 weeks away and in my taper period . Was lucky enough to have a training block with no injury or illness . Feeling stoked and energetic for the 19th . After logging around 1000 kms of training over 14 weeks - the best part has been the 3 week taper !
Running my first marathon in Detroit in 6 weeks! Started running last October and could barely run 5k. Now I’m doing 50-75k/week and on a 19 week marathon plan. Target time is 3:45. Looking forward to incorporating smiling into my runs. Best of luck Anna and everyone else training!
Love following your journey! I don't have any specific running goals at the moment, other than to continue running four times a week. With the start of the school year, as a teacher, that has meant getting an EARLY morning run routine figured out. I recently ran my second sub 60 minute 10k today, and it felt a lot easier than the last time. Today I paid more attention to my heart rate than my pace and that was a different experience as well. Thanks for your honestly and inspiring me to think about what I might want to do with running in the future.
Anna you are such an inspiration! I’m just starting to train for my first marathon next spring and I always turn to The Running Channel for that extra boost of motivation when I need it. Keep going girl, you got this! 🏃♀️
By showing us all the positive & sometimes negative moments of your training block it really makes me feel that I can relate to what I have experienced in the past. Really interesting mindset tip from your sports psychologist to help keep the right mind frame. As your coach said - you can do this Anna!
I am currently training for my 2nd half marathon, your channel was instrumental during my first half marathon training. This video has been very helpful, as I have noticed having a mental barrier that I don't remember during my first attempt. Thank you!
Really helpful to see advice from experts and see real training from non-elites. My training right now is going okay. Base training this year for races next year hopefully!
I am really enjoying this series. The information, the honesty, showing the ups and downs. You can do this Anna! I will be rooting for you on race day :)
When we were training or out running in the army, our PTI used to say "smile, remember we're having fun". Am currently training for a half marathon, which is two weeks away and hope to run a full one next year. Really enjoying the series, you got this Anna 👍
Hi Team Anna! Eeeek! Last week I was commenting how I was training for my first half marathon, and today, now I'm saying for the first time...I'm training for my first marathon!!! Heehee definitely going to need new runners to help get me there! Thanks for the inspiration and support that you share with all your highs and all your lows!
Thank you for your honesty and transparence! Keep up the great work! I'm training for the Chicago and NYC marathons; although, Chicago marathon is my Peak race where I will attempt to break the 4 hour mark. I'm training in my Adidas Boston 9 and would love the Boston 10....as I have put already too many miles on Boston 9. Thank you and together WE train hard!!
Way to go Anna! Yes the mind can definitely impact our performance. I like what your therapist had to say and the mind can definitely be a limiter in our personal accomplishments. A lot of is positive talk but another part is doing hard running in training. The speed sessions and getting in the long runs can help. Also while running your marathon you can think back to all the hard training sessions and remind yourself you put in the hard work -- your body is capable. No marathons for me. I've been focusing on shorter / faster races. I am hoping to knock out a few half marathons this fall / winter so the training leap to get there shouldn't be too hard. I'll have to reflect on whether I want to put myself through the training to run a spring full. I really enjoy your channel. Thanks for taking us on your journey with you.
Keep pushing through Anna. You can nail down that marathon goal! I’m 5 weeks from my third sub 4hr attempt & starting to feel more confident that I can do it this time. Sadly lockdowns make it highly unlikely that I’ll get to run it in Melbourne, so I’ve mapped out a course in my hometown. Also have a running buddy joining me for the second half. Good luck Anna! I’ll be keeping an eye out for your result👍😁
I'm running my first every race in 2 weeks, a half marathon! Just had to have a week off due to pinching a nerve in my neck- it was my final long run week...but managed to schedule it in this week (nice and easy pace though) so I still have enough taper time. Like you Anna, I flip from "I can do this..no problem" to "what the heck...what I am doing! I'm not a runner!" The running gremlins are the WORST! p.s. I listen to comedy podcast when running- I smile all the way through (and sometimes burst out laughing which is probably disconcerting for the other users of the canal towpath). The research you spoke about makes total sense now! It makes my runs feel so much easier!
training for my first marathon, I find all of those on the Running channel amazingly helpful. I have been training for the last 5 months and feel incredibly proud of taking 2 minutes off my 5k time (down to 20.24) and 3 minutes off my 10k time yesterday at the London Duathlon (43.37). Here's hoping that injury and COVID stay away and hope to smile each mile at London.
I am now doing 3 autumn marathons in 3 weeks! I have Berlin, London then Manchester in consecutive weeks. Aiming for a Boston qualifying time too 🤞 Good luck Anna and maybe I will see you in Berlin 🙂 I might try to 'chunk' Berlin by the city landmarks.
Lovely to see your update Anna, you can do it for sure 💪I am 4 weeks out from Galway Bay marathon...I am so excited and looking forward to the race day buzz and smiles 😃a positive attitudes is key!
Training for a half this Sunday. Last week I only managed to run 10k instead of 50k. Just had a bit of the blahs 🤭 I think my mind won last week. I put a goal of finishing in under 2:30:00 but I started doubting myself and just stopped running completely. Videos like these are really helping me not be too hard on myself. All the best for you marathon training. I’m rooting for you!
I am training for a 5k in November and doing lots of strength training to help with my knee and calf injuries. I am focusing on strengthening my hips, quads and calves. Good luck Anna, I know you can do it, keep it up!!
Speedwork is great! It's one of my favourite sessions of the week. I just completed my first Marathon this weekend (trail) and the pace work really paid of to get me back up and running at the top of climbs or pick up the pace a bit on the flat or downhill sections! Keep going strong Anna - you're looking in great shape and look ready for this great challenge! Can't wait for the next one!
Hi Anna! I'm trainning for my first 1/2 marathon which should be on march next year, luckily! A few months back I was more consistent with my trainning, but then I had my 4 wisdom thooth removed. It has been a struggle trying to get back at it! Seeing your videos really helps me and has given me inspiration. Kudos from Bolivia!
I started running at the beginning of the first lockdown unable to run 1mile at 10mins without needing the next day off, I stumbled upon this channel, and I have pretty much religously followed the channel since. With all the great advice i'm now bizarrely participating in marathon training doing my 20mile long runs at 7-8min pace. Loving all the recent marathon content! Good luck Anna! Looking great! Keep up the good work!
Anna, I’m in the thick training for my first marathon and your journey toward a Boston qualifier has really been reassuring, helpful, and inspiring. Thank you so much for sharing your adventure and thank you for your openness to sharing the dark side too. I cannot wait to see how you do. You’re going to smash it! Best of luck.
I’ve just signed up for my first half marathon next March but I can’t imagine doing a marathon, let alone trying to do a Marathon at the pace you are aiming for Anna. I am in awe!
Hey Anna. Can't wait for the next episode, and can't wait to follow your entire journey. My BQ is 3:35, and right now my PR is a 4:03 in 2018, so our gap is kind of similar. A calf injury riddled 4:35 at the 2019 Indianapolis Marathon had me thinking that the Unicorn was totally out of reach for me, but now I starting to rethink my pessimism. Best of luck.
Currently training for my "first" marathon, Rocket City Marathon. I was registered for it last year but it was cancelled. I still trained and did a modified version of the route solo. Looking forward to this year. Also coming off a nasty ankle sprain with 8 weeks of PT. So once again my main goal is for completion. You can do this Anna. Your videos have been wonderful to watch as I do my training too.
Keep up the great work Anna!! We know you can do it. Four races into my running club's race season. 10k next weekend and working towards three half marathons by mid December. Love the channel.
Thank you for making these wonderful videos. I am running my first official half marathon six days from now. I have had my ups and downs through 15 weeks of training and I'm a bit behind schedule. Will definetly try to smile a lot through each chunk of the race😁 Good luck to you Anna💪👍 stay strong and go get em😉
Hi, just finished the 10th week till race day pfitz 18/55 block. Had a wonderful and strong week until today, a strong MLR 12 miles, 10 miles w/6 miles lactate was my 10k PB, couldn’t believe it. But today on a 20 miles I died at mile 15, I’m experimenting with my nutrition and luckily it wasn’t race day. Had to ran walk 4 miles back home. Caffeine gel increased my heart rate and almost made me puke. Yesterday the 3:45 marathon time seemed doable, today I feel so naive, like I’ll be lucky if I can finish. I have never felt this miserable, not even after my first marathon
Starting my base training for a marathon next week with a goal of sub 4 hours. Just finished the London Summer run 10k today and will have the Hackney Half later on the month. Sadly I’ve had a minor injury to my toe but a foot specialist helped me solve the issue! Good luck Anna!
You’re such an inspirational human Anna! Since your first episode, I was in the middle of Beginner Marathon training and done it by 25min run, 5 min walk. I smiled the whole way :) now I’ve started an Intermediate Marathon Training Plan. No race yet to take the pressure off but your tips are very helpful! Keep up the good work !
I’m busy on lockdown #6 in Melbourne, so I’m jumping on the spin bike, doing some body weight circuits and getting more steps in at work. No marathons or even park runs to do, but I’m challenging myself as often as possible. Anna you are doing awesome and I’m loving keeping up with your progress, you can definitely do this in leaps and bounds. By the way the furball running with you is the best, love running with 4 legged pals. 💜💛
I'm running my 4th marathon (NYC!) this November, and I've never trained as well as I have so far (touch wood!). This series is HUGE. (I don't have cheerleaders like you do, but I feel pretty good.) You got this, Anna!
Thanks so much for this! I love thinking of the psychology of it- am doing London and Manchester Marathons :) Love following your training Anna- shame about the illness but keep smashing it and smiling x
I just finished my first race ever yesterday, which was the Paris half ! It was really amazing, I loved every second (except from these last hills… 🙈). Next step : rest, and then a new goal ! It is really great to follow your journey, Anna ! Best of luck !
Running the Berlin Marathon as well. First marathon for me, nervous and excited by it all. Longest run tomorrow in training. Trying to learn how to pace myself. Chunking is something I’ve used in the past with HMs. Good luck with next few weeks!
My first ever marathon is on October 3. Also ran my very first Parkrun yesterday here in Minnesota. If it wasn’t for this channel I wouldn’t know it existed!
Chunking is what works for me as well. Also picking out routes that need completion, like you can't abandon mid-training, just like your running to/from a park run. You need to get back home, so you might as well run the thing. 🤣 I am training for my first marathon which happens to be in Berlin as well, so see you there, Anna. One smile at a time 😃
Love seeing your progress Anna! I am currently training for 2 full marathons, and 3 half marathons, so lots of running. I also added in swimming and biking as add-ons to my daily workouts in the hopes that it helps further strengthen my legs. Can't wait to see your BQ attempt!
Good Luck!!! Running a marathon in October. Been lovely to watch you and Sarah training as well. Had a half marathon race today. Wanted to get under 2 hours and completed in 1:58 💪🏾.
Hi! Currently training for an autumn half marathon this year! I loved the "chunking" things that the doc said, I think I may actually be implementing it in my next run on Monday. I also discovered that running the long runs with some people helped me a lot (mentally and physically) so a couple of weeks ago, I enrolled in a running team that actually does long runs on Saturdays, and I'm super happy I did! Keep going Anna, you CAND DO IT!!
Hi , i am actually trainning for my second half-marathon that will happen on 26Sept. I just ended my first half marathon last Sunday, under 2h, i have set to go for 5min30sec per km, which i did. I ran in Adidas SL20, but it just mess my toe nail and i couldn’t run for two days. I actually would need to have a new pair of running shoes, as i don’t know if i can do another half marathon in my SL20 knowing it will hurt my toe nail… i would be more than blessed to be chosen to win the Adizero Boston 10, it would definetly improve my time in the next Half-Marathon that is comming in 2 weeks. Thank you all, and Ana,wish you all the best in your trainning and keep moving on, focus on one step at the time, one run a day and you will become what you set your mind to be .We are cheering for you.
Good stuff, great to see training is going well, got past the set backs too. As you said it could be 20 week give or take plan, lot of time outdoors in all kinds of weather so easy to catch a bug. I'm 7 weeks from yesterday to my marathon, training going ok, recovery week last week, back to usual hard training this week again, 19 miles on Sunday. With the hard sessions finding legs tired later in long runs, have to remind myself will be rested on the day! Best of luck Anna, keep it going!
Hi Anna and team, its Marco. I'm still hanging on with my Chester Marathon training. I got through my solius strain, but made the mistake of jumping straight into a new brand and model of running shoes and aggravatedan old Achilliesrupture. What a muppet! 🥴 I dropped my running and following a period of R&R I focused on elliptical work and foot conditioning as you describe in your video. I'm nearly back to normal 🥳I can't advocate conditioning work enough. Some great comments below everyone. Really great update Anna, thanks and good luck 😊
Well done Anna! Hope you’re feeling better! Tough and very hot Half marathon for me in Milton Keynes today! Now getting stuck into setting a route for the virtual London marathon next month!
Currently my training is looking like building back up from injury so I can actually get back to half marathon training! Love watching you share your journey Anna, makes me feel like I can achieve my running goals as well despite set backs like injury.
Way to go Anna. Keep the ball rolling! I just bought a pair of the Adizero Boston 10, with the rods in the midsole. They are fantastic. I am running the Vienna City Marathon on Sunday in them! I would of course love to win another pair ;-)
love this! i am doing/training my first half and training is not going so well! my family has been sick on and off all summer, so this makes me feel better that the training will stick around and its ok to have bad runs/days.
Keep up the good work Anna. Training for my first 50km ultra. I have had nothing but injuries and time off, walking to keep distances up. You can do it Anna.
My training was going well for my first marathon at 44 years old, hurt my back this week, luckily it's just a minor pull, would love a pair of the boston 10s. Keep up the great work anna
This is awesome just caught up with the series, and so inspiring, I have related so much to this in the beginning of lockdown I decided to train for a marathon and started running but as the marathons cancelled last year my motivation absolutely plummeted now when I go out for a run I get some injury, because I have lost fitness, and it feels like a chore even trying to run short distances. This has inspired me to get back on it and achieve my goal which will probably be next marathon season. Thanks! and good luck for the race you are going to smash it.
Anna! I know you can crush that BQ! Great video (as always).. I love the mental side of the video, how s important it is in LD running. I am training for my second ever marathon on 10/31. Ramping training up and feeling very good. My time last year was 5:46. I have set a time goal 4:25 and looking forward to crushing. Thank you and keep on keeping on!!!👊🏻
↓↓ Are you running an autumn marathon this year? Where? And have you got a time goal in mind? Or have you got any words of support for Anna? Tell us in the comments ↓↓
Berlin! see you there. My goal anything less than 5hrs
We only have virtual races right now in SA, so I am training for a 10km virtual race in mid-October (It is part of the Cape Town marathon series). I wish Anna all the best with the Boston qualifier. I am sure she will have a great time in Berlin.
You got this Anna💪🏻....I am training for the London Marathon (4 weeks to go) I will try 'smile with every mile'!
belfast 3rd October. Hope to finish between 3.45 and 4hrs!
Go Anna, you've absolutely got this, know you'll blitz it! 😁👍
Remember, Kipchoge smiles when he's hurting. Yes, you can do it.
Good luck in your half marathon 👍
I just love how realisticly you show your training and it's ups and downs. Especially as I'm training for my first marathon this fall and the fact that you share so openly helps a lot with my selfconfidence, that, yes, I can do that too. Fingers crossed for your qualifying time goal☺️
Anna inspired me in 2019 to run the New York City marathon so I'm training for my first ever marathon as a guaranteed entry for 2022
I found that smiling while running genuinely helps. Just general happy thoughts and appreciation for the moment washes away the hardship :)
Love the ‘smile a mile’ thing - gonna try that!
Me too 😊
@@23236638 How you feeling/doing? What are you hoping for?
@@davebowerman9869 I’m doing ok slightly nervous for my first, I’m a local so have run most of the course. I’m aiming for just under 4. How are you going ?
@@23236638 I'm from Folkestone so the course and distance is new to me
Such a good point about working in leeway for illness, as obvious as it now feels, I'd never thought of it before. Take good care of yourself, Anna!
Anna - you can do this because the moment you lace up your trainers you are already a winner!
Amazing Michael!
Great work Michael! 👍🏻
Best of luck Will!
I am just training to become faster and run more consistently. Running helps me physically and emotionally. Its a win-win! Cheers!
Thanks so much Darcy! What would you like to see in the next episode?
I’m running Chicago too!! You’ve got this 🔥
@@ohaiitsarielle thank you and you as well! Have an awesome race!!!
Currently training for the Yorkshire marathon, and I can identify with a lot of this!
Thanks for being a part of the journey, Eddie!
Running my first 1/2 marathon in October. Under 2 hours would be great. Sending you a big smile, Anna, no, make it one for every mile 😊
Love it! 😁
Aiming for a Boston qualifying time too 🤞
Good luck Anna and maybe I will see you in Berlin 🙂
I might try to 'chunk' Berlin by the city landmarks.
Good luck Geoff, what a target! 👏
All the best Geoff!
Good luck
Running my first marathon in October! Building up the miles slowly and fully love the smile a mile plan- will definitely be using that!
Still do not have my own marathon goal, but, Anna, you are the greatest motivation to think about it more.
Thanks Pieter and great to hear that speedwork really helped you :-)
Thanks for watching!
Currently building up my mileage, preparing for a half marathon. Love the honesty in your videos, very relatable to an average runner^^
This is a great series and exactly the type of content that keeps me coming back. I am excited to see where it goes.
Great to hear - thank you for watching!
Can't wait to see you running in Berlin! I have been playing this series during my training and you advice always helps me going :) Thanks Anna!
Great to hear you have been enjoying the series Nayara!
Thanks Robert!
Sorry to hear this! Maybe it's cumulative fatigue? Perhaps have an easy few days and see how you feel.
@@runningchannel 🙏
I love thinking of the psychology of it- am doing London and Manchester Marathons :)
Love following your training Anna- shame about the illness but keep smashing it and smiling x
Glad to see your feeling good enough to run again. I'm sure you can meet your goals. The training is the work and the marathon is the treat
Grinding for two marathons this season! Definitely be adding chunking and smile hunting to plans
You may also find our video on back-to-back marathons quite useful, Carlos! Here's the link: ruclips.net/video/tR1bQV1eXhM/видео.html
One smile at a time 😃
Learning a lot from this series thanks Anna. Looking forward to more of the same and best of luck for the next chunk of training!
I am currently training for Cape Town marathon....6 weeks to go. My goal is to run under 4 hours for the first time.
See you on the start line, Matt!
Love seeing your progress Anna! I am currently training for 2 full marathons, and 3 half marathons, so lots of running. I also added in swimming and biking as add-ons to my daily workouts in the hopes that it helps further strengthen my legs. Can't wait to see your BQ attempt!
You Rock Lara!
Good Luck!!! Running a marathon in October. Been lovely to watch you and Sarah training as well. Had a half marathon race today. Wanted to get under 2 hours and completed in 1:58 💪🏾.
Well done Ishira!
Nice one Julieta!
12 weeks out from my next marathon! Everything I signed up for last year got cancelled so I'm really hoping this one goes ahead. Good luck Anna!
Running the Brighton marathon on Sunday! Will be my first one. Was inspired to do it by watching the running channel! 🏃♀️
I dropped my running and following a period of R&R I focused on elliptical work and foot conditioning as you describe in your video. I'm nearly back to normal 🥳I can't advocate conditioning work enough. Some great comments below everyone. Really great update Anna, thanks and good luck 😊
I am about 6 weeks out from my marathon. Going to definitely try to the chunking method on my next long run. You can do this Anna!
Good luck with your BQ attempt. Actually training for Boston and have a 26.5 mile long run today, so this video was perfect to watch.
Looking really good Anna, definite aura of confidence about your progress. Great inspiration
Well done Anna! Hope you’re feeling better! Tough and very hot Half marathon for me in Milton Keynes today! Now getting stuck into setting a route for the virtual London marathon next month!
Well done Anna. So many ups and downs. Kudos for keeping going and staying positive.
Thank you and keep on keeping on!!!👊🏻
Good luck Anna, Berlin is an awesome race and experience. I'm doing the Chester marathon in 3 weeks, will definitely be chunking and smiling 😃
