    Shopping List for How to Reseed a Lawn:
    - Grass seed, used to create new lawn
    - Starter fertilizer, used to amend the soil
    Tools for How to Reseed a Lawn:
    - Gas-powered power rake, used to prep the lawn for seeding
    - Slice seeder, used to plant grass seed
    - Walk-behind broadcast spreader, for spreading fertilizer
    Steps:
    1. Use power rake to de-thatch the lawn and remove old, dead grass.
    2. Fill slice seeder with grass seed.
    3. Run the seeder back and forth across the lawn to plant the seed into the ground.
    4. After first pass, run the seeder around the perimeter of the lawn, and any other areas missed during the initial pass.
    5. Next, run the seeder across the entire lawn again, but this time, make perpendicular passes to the initial pass to ensure 100 percent coverage.
    6. Apply starter fertilizer to lawn using a walk-behind broadcast spreader.
    7. Thoroughly water the lawn.

    Did Roger just say "yad"? which rhymes with wad or cod? 🤣 In Wyoming, we have "yards", which rhymes with cards. Also, what is a "chot"? Do you mean "chart" which rhymes with fart? Just yanking your chain, Roger. We all love you, and your great program! 👍❤ If you every come here to Elk hunt, I will be your translator, for no charge. Used to work with a lady from Worcester, and after only 10 years of training, she now speaks English. 😎

    That overseeder makes sense. I don't understand how the others can work when they drop the seed first, and then smash the seed with the blades. If you understand how they can be worth anything explain it to me.
    I have a yard like that one near the trees. The area gets sun an hour or two of sun at an angle. I did a Tall Fescue last year and it came out weak and mostly gone this year. I have a new bag of Bluegrass blend but I could take it back for a blend like you have there. I'm not sure what to do there. I live in SW Michigan. The soil is a bit clay based it seems because when it gets dry, it gets hard and cracks.

    Wondering if it would be cheaper to lay sod or use grass seed for a new construction home. The area for the lawn will be really large. Planning to use bermuda grass and I am located in Louisiana.

    would anyone suggest using a slit seeder like this to seed a new lawn? my dog destroyed my back yard and I am wanting to re seed it again. it's basically all dirt right now, no grass.

    Why can't we see the finished product in a couple weeks? Let's go back and see if the machine actually work and did its job.

    I wonder if this machine works on hills? Some have an auto-shutoff if it tilts too much. Also, would like to see what the grass looks like in about 6 weeks since it starts coming through in 10 days... This is kind of like showing how to make soup without tasting the end product...

    I have cleared a large portion of land and I am ready to plant grass seed this fall. I had the soil tested and I need to put down a lot of lime. I know I have to do this in stages because the line takes a long time to have any kind of effect. My soil is sandy and I want to know is there anything I can spread before the I start to seed? Any help is very much appreciated.

    Is there an alternative to adding phosphorus as starter fertilizer? Our waterways have been suffering from algae blooms because of all the nutrients that runoff into our waterways.

    Hi, if a lawn was reseeded along with horse manure(almost fresh. not compost), what weed killer to use prevent growth of weeds?

    • @mahmoods9861
      @mahmoods9861 3 года назад

      @NonyaBusiness! ok. Can I apply that in few months rather now when the seedlings are brand new. Good Grass Green strands are begin to visible now. I would wait until fall to apply weed killer. Is that ok?

    Roger and his toys. Up her in Eastern Canada we don't even think about stuff like this until after the May 18th long weekend, by then the last frost should have hit and the ground is thawed out and accepts moisture. Where I live were in zone 5a.

      mikeisbeast07 We never get that warm even in the summer, the Bay of Fundy and Gulf of Maine are cold water, so we get a lot whales out there feeding until October or November, then it gets cold again. I know how warm it's been down there, I watch train videos from a guy in Plant City, Alan John Smith, he goes by the name Milleniumforce on RUclips.

    • @kzug10

      You might want to consider seeding in the fall, you'll have much better chances of success: the ground is warm, no competition from weeds, cooler weather, etc.
      You can then apply your crabgrass preventer/weed and feed in the spring without compromising your chances.

    • @adnantariq3346
      @adnantariq3346 7 лет назад

      yeah i seeded already. And i have unfortunately seen a lot more weeds than grass growing. on the flip side, the lawn is a lot more greener.
