This class starts with a fast pace warm up- sun salutations, lunge vinyasas followed by a standing sequence with a focus on twisting poses and core strengthening poses. NO JUMPING so it's a 30 minute quiet practice. Great for when you are detoxing, or trying to build internal heat in the body. Abdominal work at the end. It's a mellow Level 2, Intermediate practice. The class requires a lot of standing twisting and balancing work which is more appropriate for level 2-3 practitioners.

Whatever exercises I do I constantly forget to hold my stomach in while doing them, except when I'm doing your videos! Love he reminders to hold my tummy in and be aware of how all of my body parts are arranged. You are truly giving me a love of yoga, thank you for your videos!

Hey Ali, I did my first hand stand today, 3 actually, it was with wall support, but I was able to hold still without touching the wall for a couple of breaths! :))) It was so exciting because I was scared of lifting up my legs even against the wall and so far I wasn't feeling strong enough, but it finally happened! And I'm also improving on the forearm balance. I was so happy so I wanted to share with you because I've gone very far thanks to your classes! :)))
P.S. I did this one today and even though it's short there's tons of things to work on! Namaste

Actually the last time I went totally Raw the same thing happened...I went from hyper to more hyper...I am the hyper inside, calm exterior type though. How about you Ali? I feel fabulous ...I was thinking about what made me start eating cooked starches the last time I was Raw (for like 2 years)...I loved it and I felt fabulous...it was during chemo...all that I could eat was saltines and cream of rice cereal...It is so good to be back and kicking...Thanks Ali for being such a beautiful role model. xoxo, ps Keep up the good work Miss Sophie! Thank you again, Ali! This class was exactly what I needed after a crazy week. It really helped me refocus my energies while being gentle with my body (fighting a cold with lots of oil of oregano and getting over being rear-ended in my car!). Hello Ali, Well,...the perfect class for this day...You did a really excellent job on the basic postures, and higher level transitions...really nice...The intervals and abs were beautifully placed. I liked how you started moving in the "taxing" transitions where one learns to move from one standing leg into various balancing postures...It takes a student a while to build the strength to avoid muscle failure by the third or so posture...I bet your students, who are ready to start moving up a level, are very happy right now...I will be interested in seeing their comments...As for me...Yes, ...I am hungry and I am happy...love and blessing to you both...xoxoxox
Hey Ali...great class...nice to flow on a Sunday afternoon. I wanted to tell you that Brenna came back from Berkley yesterday...One more chemistry (organic) class and she's ready for nursing college! She said she has been doing yoga everyday and that when she first started she had to stop in child's pose a lot...now, after 2 1/2 months she can do a full class without having to stop...I tell you this re: our conversation on teaching stamina...That's pretty much it...you don't learn stamina...you gain it by conditioning your body...and, in time, it comes...I think that's pretty much the big picture of stamina...not to say that being guided through a good rotation in a variety of class types isn't important too...very important...But the biggest part is consistency and hard work...Which we all know boils down to anything worth learning or having...the good stuff is hard work...and, without a doubt, Ali is BOTH the good stuff and the hard work!...xoxox, Thanks for all that you do Ali...xoxox, Laura

I think this is one of the first classes of yours I ever did, and I come back to it now and then. It taught me so much about the possibilities of incorporating abdominal strength and upper body strengthening moves with elegant transitions and twists. I laughed when you said you were trying disattract us by side bending when we doing wide squat, that was so cute. I love this class as always. stacy robinson her scale is 1-2-3-4 so 1-2 is beginner intermediate 2-3 is intermediate advanced. And 3-4 is advanced

ps tried lemon basil tea and saffron gunpowder...both really good...but, loved the gunpowder saffron (might explain the wiggly thing because I had the reishi coffee too. HA! ..brilliant!) After I make the prep for raw sprouted tofu thai lettuce wrap tacos (tofu, liquid aminos, broccoli, red bell pepper, cilantro...Sauce - almond butter, shallot or garlic, honey, liquid aminos, ginger, tabasco brand chipotle, lime...Relish - avocado, corn, poblano) ((TA DA!)) I will enter the corn bread recipe. too da loo.....
The taco in kale wraps were good, but the almond butter, chipotle sauce was WOW!...that recipe goes on the regular rotation! It is 9:55 pm and still wiggly here...dang...what to do, what to do?...probably should roll with the chamomile tomorrow. Hope you are having an outstanding evening! love, L

And Chamomile (manzanilla) tea too...Well, Hallelujah...I found out what your peanut candle nut (similar to a hazelnut) palm sugar, kafir leaf, lemon grass combo is. My Indonesian friend said it is the ingredients in satay....Which is in my top food list. when it's made into a dipping sauce it is sssooo yummy...I will get the recipe from her...Ahh. a new moon...Another reason to feel wiggly. Hi Ali, i have a problem with forearm stand . Now it is getting frustrating..i can not do it. I have been trying on and off almost 2 months (not constantly) but i can not stay up there just a sec my feet reaching and then fall back and feels like i never gonna be able to do it:( by so far i managed to do all poses except this(all combination of arm balances). Even headstand first i couldn't do it and looked to me i never can do it but after 2-3 tries i managed it but this one do not know why and i fed up with trying because no progress and i loose my confidence:(
If it makes you feel any better, I have been practicing forearm stand for nearly 10 years (not consistently I'll admit) and still cannot do it without a wall. We all have diferent strengths and diferent areas to work on. Don't let one pose get you down. Yoga is about the journey, not the poses you acomplish :) Peace and blessing! - J
