  • Gravity affects our bodies every day, causing fascia to compress and form adhesions that block blood and oxygen flow. Over time, this leads to pain, sagging skin, and health issues.
    In this video, I share how fascia decompression can reverse the effects of gravity using tools like the Block Buddy or a simple rolled-up towel. Plus, I’ll show essential tips for achieving proper posture and alignment.

    Thats interesting that you used the term "compression" to describe the progression of the facial disfuction. I describe it as being sticky.... sticking to itself and forming what many call trigger bands which are the disfuctional facial structures between 2 trigger points.

    • @Mimi-ni3il
      @Mimi-ni3il Месяц назад +2

      I like compression because of how the fascia is responding to huge gravitational force when our skeletons are not in alignment.

    • @readlesspraymore4686

      @@Mimi-ni3il Yes but gravity is not the only force acting on fascia. Disfunctional fascial structures can result from counter-gravitational forces as well.... it all depends on your movement patterns and habits.
      Edit: and it depends on any past physical trauma or injuries.

      Hi there! Compression also comes in the form of poor posture, or other habits that cause us to compress more in some areas. Fascia does get sticky and gluey. Hydration, decompression, and movement help with that.

    When I try to work with the belly area (using a towel) I still feel my neck and shoulders taking over to help me breathe. It feels like my breath gets ‘stuck’ in my upper back and chest area when I inhale - I’m hardly able to extend my breath for more than 15 seconds. I suspect this has a lot to due with previous head, neck and shoulder injuries. Is this something that just goes away with practice, and/or are there other specific block therapy programs that might help with this? Is there another area that might be helpful to work on before focusing on the belly region?

      When shoulders become affected by the fascial tightness, the intercostals also become tight because the surrounding tissue is bound up in the rotator cuff..... Workng on this first can then open up your rib cage which is necessary for proper breathing patterns(along with the diaphram)..... Try blocking the tissue in your armpits.

    • @Fluidisometrics
      @Fluidisometrics  Месяц назад +2

      Hi there! What you may want to do first is remove the towel and just breathe into the floor to begin. You'll be using the floor as your prop instead of the towel. Make sure you are in a comfortable position so as to not put undue stress on your upper body. Stay up on the forearms if needed. If this is still too much, try laying on your back, place the block on the belly and just breathe. Watch the block move up and down. This will indicate your breath is coming from the right place. Practice until it becomes natural. When you are ready try again with the towel in the belly position as taught. Hope this helps.

    What about fibroids and endometriosis? Will this position affect this area in a negative way? Do you have stretches and exercises for those issues in the pelvic area? I started doing your therapy and my lower back feels amazing but I haven't done this particular pose where I put the block on my lower stomach?

      Hi Nicole! People with endometriosis have reported relief doing Block Therapy. This work can also help reduce fibroids. As we use our breath as our guide there should not be a negative impact. Take it slow if needed.

    Thank you very much. I’ve been always wondering how come our bodies so easily shift into the bad breathing routine while Nature put diaphragm into our bodies! Is it actually the wrong style of life or what?

    • @Fluidisometrics
      @Fluidisometrics  Месяц назад

      Hi there! Poor posture, sitting in front of screens (computer, phone or TVs) contribute to the freezing of the diaphragm, Pain, fear and stress play a role as well. Practicing the diaphragmatic breath will help make it a more normal breathing routine for you.
