    In one of his last Instagram posts, Gamble, spoke about the things we can all learn from "our younger selves".
    He wrote: "Life isn't about responsibilities, tough decisions and hard work, it's about feeling bliss and living in the moment."
    They lived and died Living In the Moment...

      if you call instagram fame successful, I don't know what to say.
      They are basically contractors, advertising for corporations in exchange for free trip. Just another form of corporate slaves. I don't understand why that is a success.

      jimmy e lmao they were successful? You measure of success must be tiny. Im trying live my best life for many years. Not jumping off a cliff and say thats what life is about. These kids didnt own anything. No influence in the world. No land. No homes. Didn't leave any mark in the world. Thats your type of success though.

      The rock where the reporter says she slipped is below that pool. But, that seems inaccurate. There is a picture of Alexey in what looks like the outflow area from that pool, if we are to believe that picture. It is very confusing where exactly and what happened. Extremely poor reporting, considering there were witnesses.

    I had a moment with my boyfriend when we visited Devil's Churn on the Oregan coast. It's the same type of thing where you're allowed to go down and view at your own discretion. He kept on wanting to get closer and closer to the edge as the waves kept crashing up onto the cliffs. I started to panic and was screaming at him but he felt like he was in no danger whatsoever and still feels that way. What I remember is us both constantly slipping on rocks before we were even close to a cliff. He was the one getting close to the edge, btw....I was the one standing and screaming at him to come back. I imagined something like this happening.

  • @ValleyOfTheShadow

    Okay, so, the news people just showed everyone how to get up there and showed how pretty it was and then go and say they're concerned these 3 young people's deaths will potentially cause more people to go there and get hurt? You just did a tutorial how to get up there!!! Wtf. 24 hour news is really dark

    • @flazeda5467

      People are going to do dangerous stuff like this regardless. People go rock climbing, spelunking, sky diving, bungee jumping, they ride motorcycles and race cars competitively, and they go on steep hikes. This is a designated hiking rout with hand rails and precautions for your safety, it’s perfectly legal. The news people were just trying to warn you of the dangers and show how careful you need to be.

    • @TheOfficialBOV
      @TheOfficialBOV 6 лет назад +7

      If it was actually that dangerous there isn't a hope in hell the reporter or camera crew would go or be allowed up there. Yes there is a danger, but no they did not push their luck, it was a tragic accident where the girl fell into the pool, her boyfriend immediately jumped in after her and his best friend followed, unfortunately they were all swept over the falls. Pointless comments like Steve Hernandez are unnecessary and a desperate attempt at a few likes.

    • @gerrym.9354
      @gerrym.9354 6 лет назад +6

      TheOfficialBOV, yes, who ever saw a reporter out in a hurricane, or reporting from war zone? Who's ever heard off a reporter dying covering a story? Oh, yeah, there have been thousands, haven't there?

    • @TheOfficialBOV
      @TheOfficialBOV 6 лет назад +1

      Like I said it's not as dangerous as they are making it out to be, Steve Hernandez is most likely someone still mad they went off the trail in yellowstone national park leaving his pathetic comment. Going up a hiking trail that is actually in place with ropes etc is not "pushing your luck". This was a tragic event where the two tried to save the girl they were with, which is heroic if you ask me. Everyone is up in arms trying to get their two cents in because they were vloggers who built a company around doing what they love. They probably did more and saw more than all of you can dream about. Its pathetic when people take to the internet during a tragedy just to knock what they were doing. FYI I have been up that trail it is as dangerous as any other hiking trail, accidents happen. Also FYI journalists who report in the hurricanes and the ones who report in wars arn't the local 5 o clock news team lol

      I think they did the right thing. It looks like they got a local scout to take them up there and it seems that is a legitimate hiking trail so people can hike up to that point. Might as well educate people about how dangerous it can be. Hiking is a lot of fun but only if you are prepared and aware of what you are getting into. A drone wouldn’t have let hikers know that the rocks are for example extremely slippery. This was well done and I am glad they did it.

    • @armnerd
      @armnerd 6 лет назад +4

      At the moment you enter mother Natures greater forces unprepared and Underestimating the severity of what you are doing wrong...
      There are lots of ppl dying like this (different stories/places , same endings) every year. It often doesnt look dangerous or complicated to thrillseekers, but most of the time it is those simple looking places that ends their stories....
      I've seen a similar situation in another country just a few days ago .. Two thrillseekers attempted to get close (away from the track) to a waterfall (similar to Shannon falls). Those got stuck and had to get picked up by helicopter.
      The force of the stream stream constantly varies and the waterspray follows the wind changes...so you could enter by a dry path that in seconds are foamy and slippery just by a change of wind. Approaching waterfalls like that is just plain stupidity.

    • @taylorlayton4508
      @taylorlayton4508 6 лет назад +4

      @Mike McGlock --- yeah, I agree 100%. Still, this has got me thinking about some of the alpine/ice climbers I follow on social media, wondering if they are part of the stupidity.
      One important difference between the people that I like to follow, say Will Gadd, and what I've seen on HOL, is that the people I like to follow ALWAYS emphasize responsibility, risk assessment, safety precautions, etc. Social media can be a good platform for a dose of safety.
      I haven't seen that AT ALL on HOL, in fact quite the opposite. HOL seems to cater to the people who get inspired to go to the crag and end up needing rescue, while never having thought to learn the basics of self-rescue.

    Here is my advice. I am Canadian and have been all over the world. In Asia the traction is amazing in wet spots. Canada is COMPLETELY OPPOSITE. Very slippery when wet. Don't compare terrain as the same all over the world with water and rocks. IT'S NOT.

    I felt bad for them until I saw some of their posted videos and one in particular shows Megan and her boyfriend walking on a narrow metal beam that’s about 150 feet high , so I realized they must’ve wanted this to happen .

    • @theredheadchronicles17
      @theredheadchronicles17 6 лет назад +36

      abelucious I saw that too! It’s ridiculous! It’s tragic, but it’s kind of like they were asking for it. You don’t go into forbidden areas or places that are no trespassing and you don’t swim in pools RIGHT NEAR the edge of falls. I just don’t understand that. The things people do for Instagram have gotten truly ridiculous.

      Exactly. I think living life to the fullest and taking risks is a PART of what life is about. But when u do take risks their always has to be a limit. So things like this don’t happen. The beam thing is idiotic and dumb. All life was to them was taking risks. Life is about EVERYTHING. Working hard. Taking risks. Family. Friends. Everything u love. But life just seemed to be risks for them. It’s sad.

    How about: Wake up. Every day. Go to work. Pay your bills. Be there for your family. Contribute to society. Those are the real heroes. I'm not saying do something you hate every day. Do something you like at least a little (or sometimes). I am lucky I guess because I love my job.
