I took the plunge on this camera after watching yours and another video. Have not received it yet but am stoked to receive and start fooling with it. Thanks for the review with nice pics.

That's brilliant! They really are great cameras! They're built to be a camera to just throw in the bag and still take amazing photos! If you can look past the plastic nature of it (which I think most people do once they see the results) then you're easily onto a winner!!
Best of luck with yours 😊 let us know how you get on with it!
      Stay safe happy shooting!

I've honestly gone back-and-forth over the past year or two trying to figure out if I would actually want to drop the money on a Lomo LC-A, but after watching this video, I think I'd be much more inclined to just go ahead and buy one. VERY impressed with the sharpness of this lens, and I really do like the focus falloff around the edges of the frames. Very well done on this video, guys. Thank you for making this one!

Yeah, we understand the feeling well of dropping that much on a camera. Especially if you're on the fence about it but honestly, as I said I will continue to take this out and about whenever I'm shooting 35 to get some wider medium format goodness! It's so easy to pop in the bag and carry around. You wouldn't even know it's in the bag it's so light!
We are glad it's inspired you to make jump! Best of luck with it ☺️
Thank you very much for commenting and taking the time to watch!
      Stay safe, happy shooting ✌️

Hey, Adam! Ahh man, that means a hell of a lot! I can't tell you how much we love hearing feedback like that! Massively appreciate you!
We are out here grinding our hardest. We know all our videos aren't going to be as popular as others but we always pick ourselves up and get back to it! The dream is obviously to make ourselves well known on here in the film photography community... But we are being quietly patient ☺️
Really needed to hear that though so thank you very much! I hope you have an amazing evening and that we hear from you again soon!
      All the best!

@Only Analogue any time! I truly meant it. I will share your videos in my film community group on my social platforms. It's the least I can do. Keep it up, you're building up good karma that will pay you back 10 fold eventually. Love seeing both your teamwork and your individual styles at the same time. Plus ya'll actually engage with your followers, which is way more than what these other overhyped guys do. Keep being kind, that's what the film community is all about ✌️

I know I keep saying it but I can't say much else other than thank you and it means the world to us!
We honestly love hearing from everyone and striking up conversations. We've met and made friends with so many through this and want to continue to do so! ☺️
If you have an Instagram, please do drop it below so we can give you a follow! Or drop us a message on there if you don't want it public on here ☺️
I'll say it once more, thank you!!!

Great review, thank you. I wish it was fully mechanical, like the Holga GCFN I use. I doubt a repair shop would accept to work on these should the electronics fail.

That would be very handy... I often get frustrated when I don't have full control over a camera but we honestly can't complain too much with these results. But there is always that worry about having a repair and essentially being left with an expensive paper weight if all else fails 😂
      Stay safe, happy shooting! ✌️

Putting a 645 mask in there will probably not get you more frames as this camera has a geared advance set for 6x6. So the mask yes would get 645 framed shots, but the frames would still be spaced at 6x6, so I think you'll still get 12.
    Also here's the particulars
    Focal Length: 38 mm
    Available Apertures: f4.5, f5.6, f8, f11, f16
Shutter Speed: Bulb (B) to 1/500
    Flash: Hotshoe
    Available ISO Settings: 100, 200, 400, 800, 1600
    Multiple Exposure: Yes
    Tripod Mount: Yes
    Cable Release: Yes

Love finding inspiation and new ideas from your videos. Redscale is a new one to me please explain what speed you rate a roll of Lomo Redscale XR for best reds. Keepup the great work.

      @OnlyAnalogue  11 месяцев назад +1

Thank you so much! We love hearing when we've inspired someone, it really means a lot!
Redscale is an interesting one, you can rate it anywhere from 50-200... I haven't had enough experience with all the ratings to be able to give you the best choice. I suppose it all depends on your preferences. The best thing to do would be to have a look at lomographys image samples of each ISO rating and make a decision on what would work best for you ☺️
Thank you again! We really appreciate it.
      Stay safe, happy shooting! ✌️

I share your feelings about the LCA-120. I’ve had mine for about two years now, and as I have more experience with the camera the results keep improving. You said you didn’t have any problems with the metering-I have found the camera to easily fooled by backlighting, but that’s like pretty much every other automatic camera, isn’t it? I use mine a lot when I’m out on my bike. It’s small and light and perfect for the landscape shots that I take a lot when I’m out riding.

Thanks for watching and for sharing your experience with your own LCA-120 and your on the same wavelength as me and Josh lightweight compact and take good photos and as for the metering your right what camera isn’t fooled by the backlighting that isn’t over 1000 pound thanks for your comment and watching the video stay safe shoot film ☮️

I would never pay £450 for a plastic camera, guys, even though the lens is a decent one. Are you sure your surprise at the wuality of the images is despite the plastic camera and not because of it?
If you wanted to spend a bit of money on a 6x6 why not go for a Pentacon, or the CLA'd version, the Ukranian ARAX?
Either of those cameras will give comparable or better results, and won't lose half their value when you want to Ebay them.
Sorry guys, not for George (the images are nice though, but I suspect it's the talent behind the lens)

    • @OnlyAnalogue
      @OnlyAnalogue  Год назад

Hey George nice to hear from you hope your well.
That was my first thoughts to be honest I’ll never buy a plastic camera but after having some hands on experience it surprised me as you can tell In the video there are some metal components to the camera and the plastic is more like what you would see on cameras from the 80s plastics made to look like metal and to save weight but like I said the lens is really what your paying for.
As for the pentacon and Kiev/arax cameras I have had both the pentacon and still own a kiev 88 but still heavy units compared to the lomo camera my pentacon 6 started having a issue with the shutter curtain and when I looked for cla it would Cost me and not a lot of camera repair shops would touch them and are unreliable I think you have missed the point of the video me and Josh both love walking far a wide to get out comps and love using our premium 120 cameras and back last year I lugged the Pentax 67 14 miles around the Cornwall coast and my back really suffered every time I got it out I was scared the sea salt and sand would get into the camera and render it a paper weight pmsl 🤣
I think what we got so excited about the fact it’s a lightweight 120 camera that produces good consistent photos and it not so expensive that you wouldn’t mind taking it out in the rain or getting into situations where it could be stolen or lost or damaged now if I lost or dropped my bronica s2a I would be devastated and in some ways it not replaceable but as for the little lomo camera it may be found for 150 to 200 down the line on eBay now consider this George I have a fuji 645 wide it a plastics and metal build much like the lomo camera but Cost 500 to 600 and thats a rangefinder but it’s bigger brother is the fully automatic auto focus which is now in the 800 1000 for a plastic camera do you see where we are coming from with this little camera now find a compact 120 film camera that auto exposes for you and is this lightweight with a lens that wide.
As always George thanks for watching and kind words and stay safe and happy shooting Tom and Josh ☮️

@@OnlyAnalogue Yes, all good points, and I understand only too well the weight issue. Maybe I should rewatch the video and put aside the plastic camera prejudice 🤣 and just view it as another camera, rather than a big Diana, or a big LOMO.
Off to watch my local football team's last game of the season, I'm taking an OM1 loaded with Orwo UN54 black and white which I'll probably push to 400 iso. I'll watch your video again later on this evening.
      Peace, guys
