I challenged Michael to put his defensive portfolio against my portfolio in which I did nothing to protect against the bear market of 2022 The only thing I did is when the market drops 20% I purchased more And today His portfolio is up 18.7% My portfolio is up 51% return on investment . Why because he wasted almost 10 months in defensive positions earning almost nothing while I earned 15% more that year and then I lowered my cost average by 15% during the down market so that this year when the market was up 20% I actually made 35% because I bought low . When you see actual signs like the yield curve inverting, jobs loss, GDP down. Then you can start setting collars around your positions .
I live in a country where the government has given a clear picture of what they intend to do with their CBDC. There is no date, as far as I know, for it to begin to be implemented or what will happen to the fiat currency. My guess, it will begin implementation around 2026. The government has already said they can put a limit on what you are allow to spend and how much, even limit where and how far from your home you can use your CBDC, if they so desire. There is over 40% of the population on some sort of welfare, taxes are some of the highest in the world and the political and ideological divide is growing among the population. The government is increasingly authoritarian and restrictive of individual freedoms. The constitution and democracy are only being used for narrative and as an excuse for the concentration of power on certain branches and people. They are already trying to pass a bill to forbid self-custody of stablecoins and if they succeed it is only a matter of time before they try to do the same to any crypto. The economy is not going well either. So, let's just say I'm not super optimistic. Wherever you are, do anything you can to delay the same thing happening to your country.

The industrial revolution made huge changes. Common land was taken away from ordinary people and Family and society structures were broken down as people were forced to move to industrial centres. Many of the wealthiest families in the UK still hold assets taken from common land and inequality continues to deepen as a result

I have 100+ acre farm in the rural mountains I tend to, brush hog it sometimes. That's my vacation. No kangaroo, just elk, deer, bear, etc. Decent water springs, and timber. Timber prices have been way down forever. I don't live on it, but something to keep in mind I guess. Hopefully btc does something other than crash in the near future, so I can do something with it. I don't know what the future holds. Pretty bleak tbh. We'll see.
