I won't lie I struggled a LOT trying to shoot in her style. It's kind of the opposite of what I'm used to...I think for the next one I'll try to do a lot better :P Thanks for watching!
Yes I thought the same when I saw my images in the video that i did,I was also attempting to shoot like Irene but i kept a bit of my style in there. Next I should do one shooting like Jessica, must be insteresting
I think your processing style still comes through. Irene seems to use less contrast, more skin smoothing/sharpening, and more vibrant colors in her edits. I think you've toned down your grundgy contrasty film editing style but it still shows.
You are right but its really difficult not to let your style show up when doing this kinda of photos. I did a video shooting like Irene too but I wanted to keep a bit of my style in there, like the clothes for instance
I am a fan of your photography and your efforts to teach so many of us who are starting in photography. Thank you so so SO much for being awesome! Woud you consider making a video about how to improve at photoshop and editing in general as I can shoot but editing is a little hard for me. thank you xx
I am struggling because I have a wedding to shoot in summer and I know how to photograph it more or less... but the thing is that the editing of it all is soo overwhelming and I'd like to get it right. Thank you so much once again, to be honest, I use you videos nearly on a daily basis as to improve on my own style.
hahaha I love how baffled you are by her style. I still am always amazed by how crisp she gets her photos at such a low aperture! Craziness. She's a wizard. I think if you shot a little closer in you'd get that "Irene" shallow depth of field a bit more. The 85mm is so fun to play with but I find its much better when you are doing 3/4 length or close-in shots. otherwise the background has to be like a million feet away to get the nice bokeh.
You are so right! I find that the easiest way to get that look is to get a little closer to the model. I made a video shooting like Irene also and it was difficult for me to get really sharp images, i dont get how she gets it so easyly either haha I shoot with the 50mm 1.8 lens which is different than the 85mm but it has a slighly similarity
I love you and love all the different styles from photographers. Good effort but it is nice to see that even professionals like you cant do everything well and perfect. There is hope for us newbies yet :-)
Oh my goodness, you are crazy talented! I'm studying fashion photography in university this september and I feel as though i'll never be able to shoot as well as this!
Hey jessica, i love your work!! I have a question, did you calibrate your computer to edit photos?? Im having trouble, i edit in a macbook air and when i finish editing and i upload it to instagram/facebook it doesnt look the same, the colors change!! Please helo :(
Hey Jessica I don't know if you covered this topic (if you have can you tell me which video?) but can you talk about making a good photography business name? Whether using ur name is a good choice or not?
Hey Jessica! Okay so my comment is only half on topic, first this is so great you and Irene are both some of my fav photographers so its super cool seeing you do this, also maybe it would be cool to see you shoot like photographers from different points in history. Off topic part, maybe this is a dumb question but I was wondering if you do prints for clients, and if you do if you do them on your own or through a printing company? I'm basically just baffled by how to offer prints haha
Hey can anyone confirm if they can or cannot reply to my comments please? Something seems to be off with my account settings at google but I checked and they are as they are supposed to be....thx
Irene seems to capture that perfect time of day and that back light!,,the poses you took were great...possibly get closer to your subject...just my thoughts...
You both have the same style of photography. Natural light, then cook the images in PS. I follow you both. What I really would love to see is you do a “out of camera only” photo contest with other photographers who over post process images in PS. Just would love to see you guys nail everything in camera. Just a idea. If you already did a video like this, please share the link so I can watch it. Thanks Jesse!
It's like, you are so used to framing with your 50mm, that you didn't take advantage of the 85mm frame filling capabilities. Beautiful model and dress though! Since I like to encourage, rather than discourage, I'd give it a second go at it and move in a bit! Cheers!!
Irene usually shots in a closer range to take advantage of that wide open aperture. I know that this series it's all about to have fun but... anyway, nice try Jess.
Love you :)!!!
Now you shoot like Jessica, it should be interesting and fun. : )
Watched this because I am a big Irene fan! I think Irene's real "magic" is her post processing skill! Really top notch
Love you
Nice!
Nice job! I think if you got a little closer to the model for some portraits and had a tight crop it would feel a little more like Irene's photos
Cole Stoughton I agree - so it can be so much more "creamy" in the background
I won't lie I struggled a LOT trying to shoot in her style. It's kind of the opposite of what I'm used to...I think for the next one I'll try to do a lot better :P Thanks for watching!

the color of the flowers and the color of the dress fits really well! i love it

I think Irene shoots way closer to the model

Irene and you are my absolute favorite photographers so I love this!
LOVE LOVE LOVE The blue dress with the yellow flowers. That makes the colors pop so much. Ugh, so pretty.
I am a fan of your photography and your efforts to teach so many of us who are starting in photography. Thank you so so SO much for being awesome!
Woud you consider making a video about how to improve at photoshop and editing in general as I can shoot but editing is a little hard for me. thank you xx
Of course I can! Thanks so much dear you're incredibly sweet x

A sunny day would have nailed it. Great shots!
YOUR VIDEOS GIVE ME LIFE AND SO MUCH INSPIRATION!!!! 😍😍😍
aw thank you so much!!!!
I love the model's dark blue dress! It's stunningggg!
hahaha I love how baffled you are by her style. I still am always amazed by how crisp she gets her photos at such a low aperture! Craziness. She's a wizard. Upload it in Lightroom and use the brush tool with texture up and paint over your subject. It’ll help sharpen it
Sound a bit like her after 0:14 ... both you Queens rock natural lights tho . and yes those are her fav gears !!!
I absolutely love that blue dress, it's so pretty
I love Irene so much. Her style is so unique
They came out nice, I love both of y'all style!!

Hey jessica, i love your work!! I have a question, did you calibrate your computer to edit photos?? Im having trouble, i edit in a macbook air and when i finish editing and i upload it to instagram/facebook it doesnt look the same, the colors change!! Please helo :(
Put her against the yellow flowers all the way in with her hands wide open . Love all her dresses! Your work is amazing too and so is Irene's
Hey Jessica I don't know if you covered this topic (if you have can you tell me which video?) but can you talk about making a good photography business name? Whether using ur name is a good choice or not?
Also maybe some advice about starting your own photography business? Like some helpful starting tips?
Can you do shoot like Ana Brandt backlight shoot? Thanks

You did a great job trying, but I believe a lot of Irene's magic is in post production!
Hi Jess, I love this series where you shoot/edit like other photographers. Could you please do one on Ty French??? Thank you :)

Do a Jessica shoots like: Ruby James!!! Please!

You both have the same style of photography. Natural light, then cook the images in PS. I follow you both. Im learning how to be a photographer and your helping so much but I'm just not as good....
I used to live in Michigan, now I moved to California. I have to say, California is much better for a photoshoot in so many ways.
Have this another go 😌
DAMN JESSICA YOU WERE IN SHANE DAWSON'S VIDEO BLESS UP
lol which one? i gotta see it now
Anna Greene what video
I know its not your area but... Annie Leibovitz Disney style composite? Just a suggestion.

hi jessica ahm i have a question and i hope that you notice im a fan of yours :D my questions is what type of editor usually did you use??
notice me please
Shoot Like: Ben Sasso!
"this lens weigh more than me" lmao
Shoot in Ruby's style next!!
What if the model has a double chin? 😂
Add a beard in photoshop. It will cover the double chin.
I just LOVE how awkward Jessica is I relate so much holy
So what I'm understanding is Irene has almost a personalized preset to go along with most of her work.
if you ever watched my photoshop tutorials, you would see that i don't use presets at all
DO DAVID BELLEMERE UGH ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
You should do Jessica shoots like : Manny Ortiz
Go get closer 😁
You should do Jason Lanier 🤔👍🏻
can u shoot and edit like jinkyart?
jessica!!! try fine art photography style in your portraits. i think you can pull it off!
I need to step up my editing game. I see these before and after a and it angers me that I can't do it lol
It's like, you are so used to framing with your 50mm, that you didn't take advantage of the 85mm frame filling capabilities. Beautiful model and dress though! Since I like to encourage, rather than discourage, I'd give it a second go at it and move in a bit! Cheers!!
Alessio Albi´s style!!! Please!!!!
Jess shoot like Brandon Woelfel
Irene usually shots in a closer range to take advantage of that wide open aperture. I know that this series it's all about to have fun but... anyway, nice try Jess.
