Awesome. I built my qcx+ 20m as my first time project. (Well second if you count the dummy load). Went well. Seems to work. Do you think I need an oscilloscope to test properly? I haven’t fiddled with the turns on the toroid. Not confident with my Morse reading yet. Like the little legs on yours- where does one get them ? Thanks for the video 72 Patrick 2E0ISH
Hi Patrick, you shouldn't need an oscilloscope, I just used my WM2 wattmeter to adjust the coils. The legs are the Peg Legs from Palm Radio, out of production. If you are interested to get some more information on them you can send me an email - mycallATT darc.de :-)
Mni 73!
I want to get one of these rigs, wasn't sure which one QCX+ or the Mini, after watching your video I have decided to go for QCX+. I will mainly use it in the shack, Regards Mike G4VQH
Hi Mike, glad to hear that my little video helped you. The QCX generally is a great radio kit, I own the previous version but like this one a lot better! I have ordered the QCX mini and can't wait to receive and experiment with the little brother. I didn't exactly need another rig, but couldn't resist the fun to build it somehow...it will go with my Pico Paddle and I will try to release another litt le review here 😉
Hi Mank, thank you very much for your kind feedback! The paddle I am using is a Palm Radio Mini Paddle - unfortunately out of production. Great paddle, I use it a lot with my QRP rigs!
@@Bluesmother Got done replacing the Regulator. Now C30 is the wrong value. Should be 56Pf. It’s a 30pf. Lol. Digi-Key to the rescue. It’s always something 😜. Can’t wait to try it out. :)
Hi Jose, I used an old 8 Ohms speaker from a handheld radio for commercial use. However, I have changed to a nicer solution just today: ruclips.net/video/2huLJfk6lfs/видео.html
Thanks for the video. I was wondering about the display. Yours looks nearly identical to mine on the action. I think I got it right. .... .. Nice. Yes they are really nice. Just got mine going yesterday. Love it. WoW. I get about 4 watts out. Now have ordered the 80 meter version. Will probably get the all the others eventually. The price is right. Fairly easy to build. 73 Dave WA7AXT
Hello Stephane, this is my personalized Palm Radio Mini Paddle. They are out of production, but if you are interested in one, you can email me via my qrz.com site. 73 and enjoy CW!
Thanks for the reply, I don’t exactly need another rig, but I really enjoy building and using these type of rigs. My wife is buying it me for Christmas, it’s a lot better than socks hi de Mike
I am waiting on my QCX+20 mtr. Noticed in the video yours in up on chrome legs. Where did you get those....
Yes!, I'd also like to know where to get those chrome legs?
Where do i get a key like that ?

Great video! Which paddle are you using in this video? Would be a perfect size for my portable radio build. Thanks in advance.

I’m building my Mini right now. Having to replace that voltage regulator to the 78M05.
Good luck there! The effort will be worthwhile, you will own a great 5W rig!!

Nice, did you wind the coils according the manual or where modifications (less turns) needed?
Thanks max2765, the coils have been wound according to the manual.
I think I could tweak the coils a bit later on...right now it is 4.5 Watts @13.8V

Hi Mike, your wife is right - who needs socks, more radios is what makes a ham's life enjoyable ;-)
