Please to all my Muslims friends, please do not blindly follow Islam. I hope base your faith on evidence. Logical faith, not Blind faith. Muslims and Christian’s believe almost the same things. The difference is we believe Jesus to be God and to have died on a Cross, and you don’t. Please search: what is the historical concenus on jesus' death? You will see that history does not agree with Allah. The evidence points to his death. Ignore it if you life or use this as the start of finding the out the truth.
This demonstrates the impossibility of a secularised and individualised Islam; neither can a Muslim state be separated from sacred values and functions, nor can Muslim faith practise be separated from political and communal/social ethics and functions. The Protestant/liberal project simply can’t be projected onto Islam and Muslims - unless they begin from a very shallow understanding and skewed instantiation of Islam.

Such a foundation could address numerous challenges Muslims currently face, fostering unity among communities and nations. It's about adopting a comprehensive strategy, as opposed to temporary fixes. Thank you both for this excellent seminar. When it comes to setting up the foundation of an Islamic state, I think there is none than Dr. Muhammad Al Massari to have a rich and thorough discussion. Dr. Massari has done an extensive work by going back to Quran and Sunnah and taking the prophetic Medinan state as a base of building an Islamic civilization. Have you checked his recent book: "Hijrah, Citizenship, and Self-determination"? He tackles many modern-day issues facing a state, and he digs out jewels from the prophetic Medinan state as an exemplar model. Have you listened to his most recent video in response to Dr. Yasir Qadhi's views on Khilafah? Please consider him your next guest! JZK

Thank you for all the academically driven insights you continue to share. I was wondering if you could make a video on the concept of "religion" as we know it today. Humans have many forms of beliefs in higher powers, yet only a handful are colloquially considered religions. Put a different way, in the prior civilizations, God sent messengers to each people among themselves so each people's beliefs were localized. When did the idea of religion as a large force emerge? And is there a known reason why Islam was not localized just as prior messages were?
If the real Islam as Muhammad pbuh. tough im sure we already understanding universe deeper as the creation of Allah, and not busy with ridiculous world issue that we all facing, Insha Allah.
An interesting take on Fiqh. To my mind, the core principle here is that Islam accepts and co-exists with Diversity. Diversity in Creation is one of the ayat of Allah in this world. Islam negates the exclusivity of Judaism.

Enjoyed your lecture. In this society, what happens if a person does not follow any general Hadith figh? Punishment wise I am asking for a sunnah action, not fardth. Today it’s literally death.
You may want to look at our biggest muslim country right now : Indonesia. Imnot saying they're better, but the fact that the nation is quite safe from the negative stigma of Muslim World is fascinating. Their core value called Pancasila is extracted from the core values of islam itself, It's kinda like sharia rebranded and it works well, they are United in their diversity. And pretty sure this is the good step to rebuild islam and contribute more good deed to the world like we were once. Rebuilding islam itself has many interpretation, but if we are united with clear vision and good mission for the world, im sure we can. Sadly, maybe islam is freezed because ourselves.

Another note jihad, which in its primary meaning is fighting the the kofar, is not for the sake of building civilization nor building an economy, but for the sake of Allah SURAH AL-ANFAL AYAT 39 : And fight them until there is no fitnah and [until] the religion, all of it, is for Allah. And if they cease - then indeed, Allah is Seeing of what they do Sahih al-Bukhari 123 A man came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and asked, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! What kind of fighting is in Allah's cause? (I ask this), for some of us fight because of being enraged and angry and some for the sake of his pride and haughtiness." The Prophet (ﷺ) raised his head (as the questioner was standing) and said, "He who fights so that Allah's Word (Islam) should be superior, then he fights in Allah's cause."
How can the meaning be two different things? Jihad has many roles. In this presentation its no different then military protecting a nation which is what it is. @elcaporal739

Muslims today might hold the view that being a caliph has some Islamic privileges or obligations or حسنات. It simply means the successor. Abu Bakerؓ was called the Caliph to the Rasool, when he became the Caliph. Omarؓ was called the caliph to the caliph to the Rasool. He said it was too long a title, and adopted the title: Amir ul Momaneen (امیر المومنین), the leader of the believers, instead. The two caliphs mentioned in Quran were both appointed by God. The mankind (2-30) and Davidؑ (38-26).
How about the title is reworded to say 'Khilafah' instead of 'Islamic state'? I know they're used synonymously. Still, removing the unconscious correlation to ISIS makes sense.
At around 15 min through to 18 minutes - the explanation of the Metaphysical Madinah reminded me of this passage in the Bible. Luke 17:20-21 (KJV) 20 And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: 21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
Theres separation of state and religion in Islam.... secular state yes but islamic state is a no no in Islam.... islam cannot be blamed for failure of goverment claimed to be islamic...
What drugs are you on? There is no secularism in Islam. The khalifah was the successor to the Prophet and the head of state of the Khilafah, the Islamic state which governs the affairs of the Muslims.
Buddy you know very well Ghamidi is considered a joke by Muslim scholarship. He has no qualifications and never studied under classically trained scholars. His "fiqhi" opinions are a disaster as they always tend to against ijma and sometimes are complete nonsense. Theologically it's the same. Also believes that the 7 mutawattir transmissions of the Quran are not reliable except Hafs an Asim, which is just pure kufr and a joke. Also believes that Pakistan and other countries should be secular and at the same time should mandate Zakat. These are the sayings of someone who is not grounded in anything. Also has associates at his "institute" who believe nonsense like a Muslim woman can marry a kitabi. These are a few examples of his jahala murakabah and why he is shunned by sunni scholarship throughout the board. Only his cult followers like you see him as a mujaddid. In conclusion, no point in Paul wasting his time with him.
Indeed, we can all build that Medina by starting with practicing or establishing the Shariah in our households. It is only then we can seek to build the Medina in our local communities and mosques. The next step would be to create a strong Islamic Authority, based on the Shariah and the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad(pbuh), that will govern our affairs. This Authority would would have to "shadow" the secular government of the country we live in. A prerequisite for building this Medina, is the UNITY of all Muslims upon the Shariah and Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad(pbuh) based upon the understanding of the Pious Predecessors. With the SECTARIANISM we see in the UK and the wider Ummah, establishing this Medina will remain an UTOPIA.

If I were a Japanese who converted to Islam is it permitted to continue to revere the Japanese Emperor, the Heavenly King? Is it permitted to regard the Japanese Race and Japan as divine? They say the Japanese should regard the emperor as their own father. What is a Japanese Muslim to do?
Selamualeykum, I hope you are well. No, it is not to permitted to view the japanese race as any more divine than any other race. We are all the creation of God and racism is strictly prohibited. Every Culture that accepts the divine word of God, i.e. Islam, has had elements of their culture which they had to get rid of, even the arab themselves.

@@Nom_AnorVSJedi What you are describing is exactly the problem which the arabs had before Islam and why they rejected and fought the Prophet. Allah addresses them in Quran: „When it is said to them, “Follow what Allah has revealed,” they reply, “No! We ˹only˺ follow what we found our forefathers practicing.” ˹Would they still do so,˺ even if their forefathers had ˹absolutely˺ no understanding or guidance?“ Just because these things are part of the japanese culture doesn’t mean they’re right or good. It is not always easy to accept change, I know that, but you have to accept that japanese culture is not perfect.
Dear Willams You have truly converted to Islam because you are fully convinced Now you are having vision which is absent among Muslims May Allah guide to you great victories Aameen
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: "I have been ordered (by Allah) to fight against the people until they testify that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and that Muhammad is Allah's Messenger (ﷺ), and offer the prayers perfectly and give the obligatory charity, so if they perform that, then they save their lives and property from me except for Islamic laws and then their reckoning (accounts) will be done by Allah." Sahih al-Bukhari 25 Jihad (fighting kofar) is not for the sake of building a civilization or building an economy, but for the sake of spreading the religion of Allah and making it higher than anything else.

My concept of God is like Spinoza's God. God is everything and the universe was created by God. I didn't read Spinoza and we came up with the same concept of God. We are both peaceful philosophers and we both hate religion. What does it mean? Why atheists have defamed Spinoza so much as to equate Spinoza's God with atheism or just the universe? Spinoza's God is the concept that would end religion because it's the truth. God created the universe from self because from nothing can not be created something. Everything that exists is in God and nothing is outside God. God is not a joke or a horror fairytale to scare and control kids. Something real created the universe from self because it didn't have something that it wanted. Why God created life? To live. Killing life is a mortal sin against oneself. All the valid arguments prove I and Spinoza were right. We are literally an infinitesimal part of infinite God, we live to survive. Hold on! Life is full of surprises. Dying as an atheist is sad and it doesn't make sense. I am giving you first psychological aid. I am a psychologist, poet and artist and person of many talents. Your life is your present for you and others for eternity, like you would like reality to be. Later we all meet each other, in the past of God, that is present and future of Time. God is Time. Time created the universe from an eternal existence. Time knows everything. Time can not be deceived. God is the perfect living metaphysical entity all is part of. We are all just a tiny bit of reality in the history of the universe, that's all. Did you understand? What do you think? I need a break. I will call another time. Atheism is still a logical fallacy. The truth is atheism is a logical fallacy that assumes God is the religious idea of the creator of the creation to conclude wrongly no creator exists because a particular idea of God doesn’t exist. Thank you for your attention.
The idea that God is Time is intrinsic to the concept of the god Shiva in Hinduism. He is the Lord of Time, among other things. Many Hindus consider him the supreme deity, the One. The famous depiction of Shiva in the form of Nataraja the Lord of Dance in his cosmic form is one of the triumphs of Indian art.
I have read your comment, and im not surprised Because that's Allah for me😂. You can change the name, but the entity is the same entity i always called as my God.
Can any muslim explain this hadith to me? I am doubting my deen. Why would Allah say such a thing. Jarir used to narrate from the Prophet (ﷺ) [ﷺ]: "If a slave runs away, no Salah will be accepted from him, and if he dies he will die a disbeliever." A slave of Jarir's ran away, and he caught him and struck his neck (killing him). Sahih (Darussalam) Sunan an-Nasa'i, 4050 In-Book Reference: Book 37, Hadith 85 English Reference: Vol. 5, Book 37, Hadith 4055
You read it dude, it's not Allah's word, it was said by Prophet Mohammed. But you still need to check the authenticity of the Hadith, however, if you find it unclear, just takes a clear lessons from quran.
and dude, you don't have to really overwhelmed yourself with the hadith if you are a non scholarship or just a regular person, just stay calm and do good contribution to yourself, your family, your nation, and to the world. It wasn't like this if you were a muslim in the medieval era, everything was much more simpler, and maybe even better.
I can relate to you. When I was in middle school, I had some doubts, I was blessed to have a teacher who respected my mind and had the knowledge that I was starving for. It's painful, but necessary to become a Muslim be choice not only by birth. That's why I admire your for trying to find an answer. I will try to give you the answer that you deserve and if you still have doubts feel free to ask. It's your right. Two points to be made: 1- we aren't necessarily able to understand every single ruling be Allah. In fact, Allah mentioned that we may find some of his judgements hard to submit to. Not because his judgement is unfair, but rather because of our shortsighted minds and human limitation. (65) But no, by your Lord, they will not [truly] believe until they make you, [O Muḥammad], judge concerning that over which they dispute among themselves and then find within themselves no discomfort from what you have judged and submit in [full, willing] submission.(66) And if We had decreed upon them, "Kill yourselves" or "Leave your homes," they would not have done it, except for a few of them. But if they had done what they were instructed, it would have been better for them and a firmer position [for them in faith](67) And then We would have given them from Us a great reward.(68) And We would have guided them to a straight path(69) And whoever obeys Allah and the Messenger - those will be with the ones upon whom Allah has bestowed favor of the prophets, the steadfast affirmers of truth, the martyrs and the righteous. And excellent are those as companions. You see, Allah literally saying that even if he told us to kill ourselves then obeying him would have been better. So the question is really about FAITH, do we really believe in Allah or not? If we don't, then we should revise our faith. If we do, then Allah knows better. 2- slavery in Islam is something different then how we may visualise slavery. I will give you one verse from the Quran and one hadeth. '(36) Worship Allāh and associate nothing with Him, and to parents do good, and to relatives, orphans, the needy, the near neighbor, the neighbor farther away, the companion at your side, the traveler, and those whom your right hands possess. Indeed, Allāh does not like those who are self-deluding and boastful' We may imagine slave as oppressed, but you see, Allah tell us to do good for them. Because we don't have a present example of slavery under Islam, we may imagine something that is unjust. Further example to consolidate my point is this hadeth.. Al-Ma'rur ibn Suwayd said, "I saw Abu Dharr wearing a robe and his slave was also wearing a robe. We asked him about that and he said, 'I insulted a man and he complained about me to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said to me, 'Did you insult him by his mother?' 'Yes,' I replied. He said, 'Your brothers are your property. Allah has put them under your authority. If someone has his brother under his authority, he should feed him from what he eats and clothe him from what he wears and not burden him with anything that will be too much for him. If you burden him with what will be too much for him, then help him.'" Millions of workers today aren't treated this way by their employers! Point is that we can't judge a system as an unfair when we don't understand how it works as a whole. Since we don't understand the 'how' question, the questions we should be asking is the basic ones like: does God exist or not? is the Quran is God's book or not? Did the Prophet (peace be upon him) said that or not? If we believe on all of that, then the logical thing to do is leave what we don't understand to Allah, who we believe to know every thing and he is the most fair and merciful. Which take us again to the first point. FAITH. Are you done with this?
@@male20yearsold Aren't we supposed to obey the prophet's words just like Allah? Because it says in Sura 33:36 that when Allah AND the prophet have made a decision about anything no muslim can reject or go against their decision. I find that also troubling because Allah (and) the prophet make decisions together? Allah and the prophet decide matters together? Isn't that shirk?
No, Prophet Mohammed himself often consulted on many things, and even many of his companions and closest people sometimes gave him input. Even Prophet Mohammed was not free from mistakes like other humans, when Prophet Mohammed made a mistake, we know that Allah would immediately reprimand him through revelation. Do not idolize Prophet Mohammed and equate him with Allah. You know the fact that Prophet Mohammed always refused to be depicted? that is because he was worried that the Muslim community would idolize him with his picture, where every Muslim must have his picture. It would be like Christians who always have a picture of Jesus, the prophet did not want something like that to happen.
The extreme romanticization of every little thing in the islamic system is quite cringe inducing to be honest. Example: - _"The ruler appoints the Qadhi (judge) but the qadhi is above the ruler."_ *What?!?!?!* - _"The wife can ask the judge if her husband is not maintaining her and the judge can give her the husband's money"_ *So back to square one of the current western system, where the wife is technically married to the state and not to her husband!!* And this brother is an Oxford PhD?!! Muslims really need to up their game, instead of insisting on romanticizing EVERYTHING from the arab systems as if they are the MOST perfect system of governance. I guess that's why ALL arab countries right now are ruled by literal blood thirsty dictators.
@Sulayk Oh man ... I was sooo worried when I wrote that comment about whether my words would signify something to @Sulayk! Shoot ... now they seem like they sailed right over your head. What should I do? What should I do?
@Sulayk You see, you just confirmed that not only you didn't get the issue with what he said and which I pointed out in my comment, but you're also proved that it's very hard for people like you, whom I referred to in my comment, and who are blinded by their 101% rosy view of islamic history, to actually see these issues. HOW DOES A JUDGE, OR ANYONE FOR THAT MATTER, WHO HAS BEEN APPOINTED BY X EVER RULE AGAINST X. OR WHY WOULD A (CORRUPT) EVER APPOINT A FAIR AND COMPETENT JUDGE WHO MIGHT RULE AGAINST HIM IN THE FUTURE. Have you ever in your life heard of something called conflict of interest. Oh wait .... islamic history was a utopia. what am I saying!!
In Quran, God says: don't ask me questions, Quran is being sent, and if you ask, I will put a commandment in, but it will be difficult for you. God put moral code in our hearts. There will be a people on judgement day who will ask God to let them have another chance. God will reply I put the moral code in you hearts and I will judge you on that. God explains I sent prophets when you became misguided, after Adamؑ you were on the right path.
I am sorry, and with all due respect, I wish guests read more Quran and less fabricated traditions. I wish they understood the concept of Completion of Poof (اتمام حجت), Prophets sent for guidance and Quran taking on that role after the last prophet (ﷺ), and descendants of Isaacؑ and Ishmaelؑ assigned the role of prophethood as per Abrahamؑ prayer. Factual corrections: Prophet was invited by people of Yathrib (later, City of Madina) when they got tired of tribal fights. Prophet conquered Mecca as per the law of اتمام حجت.

"The doctrine that the truth is manifest is the root of all tyranny "- Karl Popper. 🤔
And what of the doctrine that the truth is obscured? From the state of the world as it is today, it seems to be the root of all darkness.
@a4482921 The Truth is always obscure. We should not want 'the Truth' to be (allegedly) known in its entirety, and should be very wary of anyone who claims to have it. The Truth is always infinitely more than any person's mere ideas about it. Our ideas about what is true are always fallible, provisional and soon to be replaced by something better in the light of what should be our relentless critique of them. This is how we become properly oriented towards Reality and grow (ad infinitum) in our knowledge of it; by conjecture and criticism, not by authoritarian and absolutist proclamation that is protected from criticism by self-appointed tyrants on pain of death. Reality is greatest! @@a4482921

Rich content & new perspective mashalah

An interesting take on Fiqh. To my mind, the core principle here is that Islam accepts and co-exists with Diversity.
Diversity in Creation is one of the ayat of Allah in this world. Islam negates the exclusivity of Judaism.
Islam post the fossil fuels age becomes the first of the 3 majors acknowledging the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics at the core of its teaching:

No energy store holds enough energy to extract an amount of energy equal to the total energy it stores.
No system of energy can deliver sum useful energy in excess of the total energy put into constructing it.
This universal truth applies to all systems.

Sir,the more appropriate title may be how to rebuild islamic civilization (Arabic civilization).
Wow, how is it possible to communicate with sheikh Sohail Hanif? It's for an important matter. Hope someone can help

Another note jihad, which in its primary meaning is fighting the the kofar, is not for the sake of building civilization nor building an economy, but for the sake of Allah SURAH AL-ANFAL AYAT 39 :
And fight them until there is no fitnah and [until] the religion, all of it, is for Allah. And if they cease - then indeed, Allah is Seeing of what they do
Sahih al-Bukhari 123
A man came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and asked, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)!
The primary meaning is struggle. That is known and has been mentioned in this presentation.
It is for fighting oppression. After the last messenger, no one on earth is qualified to takfir (calling anyone kafirs/infidel).
@@boldottomanthats the meaning in language not in the religion
Violent, nasty, bigoted religion!

Where is the appointment order?
@@rameshsnayar The mankind (2-30) and Davidؑ (38-26).
This is a nightmare scenario for Non Muslims around the world.
How about the title is reworded to say 'Khilafah' instead of 'Islamic state'?
I know they're used synonymously. Still, removing the unconscious correlation to ISIS makes sense.
An important topic often ignored by Muslims.

How do I move there?
Theres separation of state and religion in Islam.... secular state yes but islamic state is a no no in Islam.... islam cannot be blamed for failure of goverment claimed to be islamic...
What drugs are you on? There is no secularism in Islam. The khalifah was the successor to the Prophet and the head of state of the Khilafah, the Islamic state which governs the affairs of the Muslims.
Paul, may I suggest bring Javed Ahmed Ghamidi as a guest (you might need a translator).
Well, it's not exactly going well at the moment is it?
Maybe we should stop encouraging people living in Muslim lands to leave in the first place? It's complete chaos.

Why the f.. should those of British heritage follow the shariah, a collection of mediaeval inanities?

Jarir used to narrate from the Prophet (ﷺ) [ﷺ]:
"If a slave runs away, no Salah will be accepted from him, and if he dies he will die a disbeliever." A slave of Jarir's ran away, and he caught him and struck his neck (killing him).

and dude, you don't have to really overwhelmed yourself with the hadith if you are a non scholarship or just a regular person, just stay calm and do good contribution to yourself, your family, your nation, and to the world.
Two points to be made:
1- we aren't necessarily able to understand every single ruling be Allah.
Indeed, Allāh does not like those who are self-deluding and boastful'
We may imagine slave as oppressed, but you see, Allah tell us to do good for them.
If you burden him with what will be too much for him, then help him.'"
Millions of workers today aren't treated this way by their employers!

Ibn Tajmijja rhm.
The extreme romanticization of every little thing in the islamic system is quite cringe inducing to be honest. Example:
- _"The ruler appoints the Qadhi (judge) but the qadhi is above the ruler."_
*What?!?!?!*
- _"The wife can ask the judge if her husband is not maintaining her and the judge can give her the husband's money"_
*So back to square one of the current western system, where the wife is technically married to the state and not to her husband!!*
And this brother is an Oxford PhD?!!

HOW DOES A JUDGE, OR ANYONE FOR THAT MATTER, WHO HAS BEEN APPOINTED BY X EVER RULE AGAINST X.
