    I would switch your two at a time socks to be on either two sets of circular needles, or even two sets of DPNs. I also found both on the same magic loop to be weirdly overwhelming, but having them side by side on separate needles made it so much more manageable.

      I was also thinking of doing this… but I think I’m going to try this one pair TAAT and give it a fighting chance!

    Roxanne Richardson does “finish it February “. A good way to manage a huge pile like yours: pile them in order, work for a set amount of time (4-10 hours?) then move to the next, putting this on on the bottom of the stack. Cycle through, and you won’t feel so overwhelmed.

      Ooh, I kind of like that idea… I’m choosing about 3 to work on at a time right now so I have a few projects to rotate, but for those bigger sweaters I might try this!

      @@StopDropandKnitPodcast actually this year she has had a ton of discussion each week in January on ways to handle hibernating WIPs (on her casual Friday RUclips shows). Do many ideas.
      Plus: if you unravel your moths we will all cry big tears. Block the heck out of it before doing that.

    Frog the cowl, finish the shift, and I LOVE two at a time socks! Maybe try them on 2 circulars or chiaogoo for magic loop.

      Agree, agree and hmmm 🤔 I think I just haven’t given TAAT socks a fighting chance… will need to get back to it and see how I feel.

    Hi. With the cabled cowl, I would just bind off, tuck the darker color inside and wear it as is. With the shift cowl, I say finish! Sock blank, finish them and treat yourself to another sock blank as a treat. And knit on double points. All the Lights, keep going. It’s gorgeous!! Do it before next Halloween 🎃👻. Finish to mitten before anything else. Monogamy for the hubby!! Artist’s Journey, finish by Easter. So beautiful ! Junction do for the fall. Shawlography: You’ll do it!! And you can do duplicate stitch because you’re amazing! I want you to wear it on the podcast. Don’t start anything new until you finish these so you have time to move and to do your dying and spinning. You go, girl!

    I vote to frog the first cowl and start it again in a different yarn and to frog the socks and to unravel the sock blank into 2 balls and knit the socks with your preferred method. I completely get the all the lights cardigan languishing. I am making that sweater as well and it take all of my brains power to work on it and with a toddler running around that is not a lot of time. Focus on what brings you joy 🥰

      Thank you! I don’t know if I have a plan, exactly, at least, not as far as a strategy to get them done…. Trying to get a few of the quicker projects done first so it seems less daunting.

    I love TAAT socks because I have second sock syndrome. I say persevere! But as always knit what you love and move on. It's hard not to cast on new things!

    I think you should do your All Of The Lights 30 min a day. That's what I do with certain projects that I want done but I don't want to work on. It is my first 30 minutes of the day and then I put it away. Definitely finish the Shift! It is one of my favorites and I wear mine all the time! 2 at a time socks are ok, I can do them, and have done them many times but definitely don't love it

      You must be a fan of Kay over at Crazy Sock Lady! I know that’s what her plan is for her mornings. Actually, it’s not that I don’t want to work on that one, it’s that I need the headspace for it because there’s so much going on all at once. I’ve also gotten sidetracked with other projects. I’m looking forward to getting back to that project soon! Thanks so much for the suggestion!

  • @lorindasilveira9155

    Using two at a time magic loop for your socks work pretty well. Crazy Sock Lady has nice tutorial if you need one. For me, only a problem with the heel flap and gusset so I do that individually on a DPN but that is me. You could do each individually on their own needle but then the yarn will get all tangled as they are unravelled from that sock blank. Pretty yarn, though. As for frog it or finish it, I always ask myself, “do I really like this? Will I honestly wear it? Can I see me wearing this item?” Be honest with yourself. I frogged the whole front piece of an aran Irish-knit pullover cause i just couldnt see me wearing it. Was too warm and heavy for me so i would have wasted the yarn just to see the project finished and it would have sat in my drawer forever. That’s my 2cents

    • @StopDropandKnitPodcast
      @StopDropandKnitPodcast  2 года назад

      Thanks. Yeah, I think almost all are finish because I do like everything. I’m trying to work on a few at a time now to get some knocked off the list so it’s less overwhelming. The only one I’ll probably frog is that first cowl, but it’s a beautiful pattern that just needs a softer yarn, so I’ll probably reknit it.

    Happy new year, Lisa! The cowel yarn would make awesome felted slippers for the new house! Knitting traditions on RUclips have translated a felted slipper from Norwegian on one of her podcast. But think of the cute purple slippers!

    Typically I find that WIPS that I don't finish, means something is bothering about it except for ones that get placed to the back because I don't see enough urgency. So those I last I place into a rotation queue.

    • @StopDropandKnitPodcast
      @StopDropandKnitPodcast  3 года назад

      True. I think I need to focus on my own projects and stop signing up for test knits… those tend to slog me down with all the deadlines and then I just don’t get back to my own projects.

    It looks as though you have 6 months worth of knitting to finish up all your wips! That would really drive me crazy! The most I have on the needles are 3 projects. One of them stays in the car in case I forget to bring one alone. I think you should try the TAAT socks. I'm new to sock knitting and I like it because I don't have to worry about keeping the socks the same size. Good luck with your move!

      It’s a lot of wips but I’ve already started knocking them out! Now I feel challenged to get them all done in under 6 months, 😂 lol. I’m going to go for the TAAT socks 🧦 at least for this one pair and see how it goes!

  • @carolineLonnqvist

    So much beautiful knitting! 😊 Rather than soldiering through and then not wearing the cowl I think you should frog it and use the yarn for a blanket. I´m also intimidated by two at a time socks, probably because I rarely knit vanilla socks and two at a time with colourwork or cable pattern feels complicated. Perhaps an idea for a video or KAL, 2 at a time! But duplicate stitching on the other hand I think is very easy and I know you´ll have no problem doing it. Wishing you and your family a happy new year!

    I love a WIP parade! If you finished the first cowl, could you over dye it? I love, love, love your yarn for the All the Lights cardigan. I only make socks TAAT because I have multiple single socks that never got a partner. I work them on a 37 in circular, I start each sock by itself (either a cuff or toe complete, put onto a spare needle then I make the second cuff/toe and add them both to the long circular). I’ve never used a sock blank because I’ve always thought the kinky yarn would bother me.

    Finish the 🦋, spring thing, junction, all the lights, Bernie mitts, maybe the artists and the spring cardigan. Maybe the shifty if you enjoy it. You have other sock yarn so if you don’t like TAAT magic loop, end the misery and give away the sock blank. And no more test knits! And the shawlography will be finished.

    Frog what you do not love any longer. Finish the hem on the sweater and forget the duplicate stitch on the inside- no one sees it. Make a list. Work on the items nearly finished first so that it doesn’t seem so daunting a task. I loved all of your wips. Could you overdye the first cowl? It was such a beautiful pattern. Shame to frog that. Good luck and Happy 2022

    • @StopDropandKnitPodcast
      @StopDropandKnitPodcast  3 года назад

      I think the thing with the duplicate stitch is more about adding the technique to my toolbox…. The cowl I will probably frog only because the yarn is scratchy for around the neck. I might be more motivated to knit it up in a softer yarn.

  • @sharonspier1292

    If it's not a yes then it's a no and I would frog the item then.

    Frog #1 and #2. I knit two at a time on DPNs. Rip out the socks and wind the sock blank into two balls and knit them concurrently on DPNs. Stop test knitting and knit Joji’s sweater. Duplicate stitch is easy, check out Very Pink Knits on RUclips for the best instructions.

    Frog the Full Circle Cowl. Not only do you not like the color but you said the yarn wasn't soft either. Cast it on in different yarn. Just my 2 cents!
