    I appreciate the tips and even more I even more appreciated your "get to the point" presentation. A video such as this does not require 15 minutes, as some do. BTW, Another tip to avoiding eye burn. I will often light a tea candle right next to where I'm cutting. That seems to work to some degree. Also I heard that the sulfenic acid tends to be attracted to moisture and your eyes are moist. So it was suggested to put a wet paper towel next to your chopping station and it will reduce that also. It works to some degree also. Thanks for sharing.

    I freeze the slices separated 1st on a cookie sheet... then bag them in 1 cup portions in vacuum bags. Bell peppers too. So easy to pull them out and throw straight from the freezer .... in to the skillet for fajitas. The texture is soft... (no crisp snap/al dente) but serves quiet well and delish.

    I once saw on Martha Stewart, to light a candle and keep near the cutting board while cutting onions.
    It's supposed to help neutralize the irritating chemical.
    I've tried it and it works most of the time or at least lessens it.
    You can also use that trick to make a ziploc bag be vacuum sealed.
    You suck out the air with a straw while sealing it, and pull out the straw at the last second
    before completely sealing it.

      @nicolehervieux1704 4 года назад +1

      The Ripe Tomato Farms : This is all new for me this year, I just bought the dehydrator because we made a garden and I will have a lot of vegetables that won’t fit in my freezers. I cut the onions in about 1 inch pieces, and spread them evenly on each rack and it took about 5 hours. I will store it in a mason jar with a oxygen remover package. I researched it online and it is what most people do, it was not complicated. Yesterday I did some carrots and some dill. I plan on trying tomatoes and peppers as well. Try it it saves a lot of room for sure and if the electricity was to go this will not spoil. Have a good weekend. May the Lord bless you and yours and keep you safe until he returns.

    Something that I learned a long time ago when slicing onions is to slice the onion with the root end in place. For some reason that seems to work for me to keep onion tears at bay. I have chopped up onions for freezing and used them in soups, meatloaf and other meals that called for chopped up onions. But, can onions be frozen as rings and then later processed into breaded/coated onion rings for frying?
