Samsung SCX-4521f - Power supply repair-no power

Got this printer from dump and when I connected it, it has not powered it up. it was the faulty power supply, actually only one bad capacitor wich I had to change. I just need to clean the paper pick up roller because sometimes it happens that printer does not pick up paper.
Otherwise its a great laser multifunction printer, and i like it. it can print up to 20 pages per min. Whole thing is based on Samsung Ml-1610 printer. Well I think it is :D So now for a while I have changed from Kyocera laser printers to Samsung :D

still one of the best printers ever, mine has just recently died, but i really want to revive it, i have other new printers wifi, colour etc.. but still not a samsung scx-4521f :)

I replaced the capacitor on mine and it is now fully functional. The bad capacitor didn't show much sign of being bad except the top was very slightly puffed up and a very small amount of white discharge on the adjacent component. Thanks for the video this was helfpul to identify the problem.

The capacitor which you replace on power board (JC44-00102A) marked as C105 is 1500µF/10V. Just in case I also replaced capacitor 680µF/35V marked as C102.

Replaced it with a 2500µF/30V and it is working fine now.

I had the same problem with a Xerox WorkCentre PE220, which appears to share technology with this unit. I just replaced C105, however. According to the service manual for the PE220 this cap is the 5V output filter. The other digital logic voltages are also derived from this line, so without it the digital logic won't work and hence the unit appears to be dead.

you can see wich capacitor has bulged top or you can use a capacitor meter. You can google bad capacitor pictures and you'll get some examples of blown or bulging capacitors.

I hope this is my problem, my 4521F keeps turning on to warm up then just turning off and back on in a loop, makes me think its a PSU issue.

Hola apreciado youbitero primero deseo agradecer tu video que está muy bien explicado y pasar a contarte que tengo problemas con una impresora samsung scx-4521f pues cuando se enciende siempre me remite el tiempo y hora y no permite manipular los botones de copia y tipo de copia y he intentado ingresar con activación del botón menu # 1934 y no me remite al tech no se que hacer tu me podrías ayudar?

I have the same printer(not from dump, but i'm tempted to bring it to one) SCX 4521f. When i turn it on, all i hear is a high pitch noise, so same problem or at least very similar. My problem is, that i'm not good with electronics and can't tell if capacitor is faulty or if there is other problems. Can u tell me, what to look for on a capacitor? or any other possible problems?
