Yep, I think that future improvements in the oral versions of GLP-1 / GIP drugs will be a huge game-changer, as a lot of people don't like the idea of needles.
TLDR: RYBELSUS, an oral GLP1 medication, provides the same benefits as injectable forms for type 2 diabetes and weight loss, with the convenience of once-a-week dosing and flexibility in timing and food intake. 00:00 🩺 Oral GLP1 medication RYBELSUS was approved in 2019 for type 2 diabetes, not for weight loss, but it does result in weight loss. 00:39 💡 Oral medication for weight loss is less effective than injectable medications due to breakdown in the stomach, resulting in lower hormone absorption. 01:05 💊 RYBELSUS pill has a maximum dose of 14 milligrams, which is equivalent to 0.5 milligrams of injectable seatide, but there are ongoing studies with higher doses. 01:41 💊 Rybelsus in oral form provides the same benefits as the injectable form, but with the convenience of once-a-week dosing and flexibility in timing and food intake. 02:20 💊 Take RYBELSUS on an empty stomach with water, every day, and wait 30 minutes before eating, with higher doses in development.
I started Rybelsus a few months ago. In January, a week after I went up to 14 mg/day, I got sick. Insanely sick. I was in the hospital for 2 nights. I lost 25 lbs in 2 weeks. I stopped taking the pills and I finally got better. BUT, after a few weeks of being off the drug, my hunger demon came back with a vengeance. Im going to work up to 7mg this time and not go to 14.
@TheNakul69 sorry. My wording was confusing. I was on 3mg for a month, then 7mg for a month, with no side effects. I went to 14mg and a week later I got sick.
Due to the global shortage of Ozempic or Wegovy, in countries like Mexico where the injectables are no longer available, doctors are prescribing Rybelsus instead. It has done wonders for me (already losing almost 20 kg, in 3.5 months). I already know it will take me more time to lose weight as if I were on the injectables, but I can't complaint with the current results. I'm loving Rybelsus.
Hello! Congratulations for your 30 pounds…. Just one question, im going to start to take Rybelsus, can you eat your usual 3 meals? Or the hunger levels are higher that you don’t wanna eat? Thanks in advance….
@@Jose-eb9dp Hello there! It actually makes you feel less hungry. The very first two months you will hardly eat actually. I used to have a jelly for breakfast and was completely full up. Avoid eating old foods, deep fried food, and all that stuff, otherwise you will feel terribly bad at your stomach. Good luck on this new beginning and hope the treatment does wonders to you too!.
Hello I’m thinking of starting the rebelsus do u follow the directions like 4 oz of water and no food or other medicine for 30 minutes? Also when u first started did u get sick to stomach or any side effects on day 1 ?
I do not have Diabetes, my BMI is 30 and I want to lose 35 pounds through Rybelsus (only Semaglutide I have access to is Rybelsus), is it very risky for non-diabetic person like me , can I go with Rybelsus as we do not have Wegovy here?
Wygovy seems to be a better choice than Rybelsus...the biggest part of taking any GLP-1 medication is the right diet and the right amount of exercise....although no one eats their way to becoming diabetic...diet is paramount when trying to manage insulin resistance. Thanks Doc for the candid comparison..much appreciated!!
Thanks. I have lost about 70 pounds using semiglutide injections and now moving into year two my insurance is not wanting to cover it anymore. (Since I’m below a 30 BMI now) So I’m hoping to maybe move this to this as a maintenance drug.
I'm on last injection of Ozempic 2mg my doctor wants me so start Rydelsus 14mg the following week. He said I don't need to start on a low dose just start with 14mg. I'm concern, Is that normal?
I started Rybelsus at 7mg and felt horribly sick. My MD didn’t Rx it correctly as you are supposed to start at 3mg. You are on a high dose of Ozempic so the transition may be smooth but listen to your body! MDs don’t always know best and can make mistakes….good luck!
I'd rather people stay quiet about the pill form - in the UK I can't get Ozempic for my diabetes because of people abusing it for weight loss but my last diabetic review revealed that this medication might be an option for me so fingers crossed
Im diabetic and theres available now in boots pharmacy, before my diabetology given me rybelsus when was no stocks of ozempic but i could t beqr with this one it is so painful side effects, maybe you could tall to your dr and tell thst is no mo shortages of ozempic

I printed an authorization form for approval of brand name drugs signed and filled of by my Doctor and the plan holder. After sent it back to my insurance ... my husband Ozempic was approved.
I've been on Rybelsus 14 mg for about 3 months now. I've lost about 20 lbs but have since hit a plateau. Getting that extra 5 more pounds is a struggle.
I am due to start 3 mg oral form of Rybelsus soon due to Metformin giving me terrible stomach issues. My A1C for type 2 is managed well, just a change due to the Metformin issues. Christy should I stay on Metformin as stomach issues seem to a problems with Rybelsus?. My weight is good no real interest in the weight loss aspect
I'm glad I watched this, my Dr. gave me a thirty day sample today and said take it with food first thing in the morning. Nothing about water. Can you tell me about my protonics? I take that first thing on empty stomach. should I not take it till later or take it well before the Rybelsus 3 mg ? T Y
You may want to consult your doctor about the reason he/she suggested with food. It may be so that you don't become sick. Taking a pill by itself can be very hard on the stomach lining. I don't know about this pill specifically, but many people complain about it making them throw up. So, I'm thinking to start, he wants you to take it with food to prevent that side effect.
I started taking rybelsus 7 mg a few days ago. My doctor immediately prescribed 7mg. the second day I was very sick. The third day I did not take it. The fourth again I did. I read everywhere that I should build it up and start with 3mg first, but the doctor prescribed 7mg right away. Can I take it like that every other day? I notice that this is better and it doesn't make me sick.
My doctor started me on the 3mg. and a month later prescribe the 7mg. so far so good no noticeable side effects and i have lost 16lbs. since i started taking it.

I tried Ozempic 2mg for weight loss. I use it for 10 weeks with mild appetite suppression. Then I used Rybelsus 14mg and I found it much more effective for appetite suppression. I’m thinking to take higher doses hoping to get better appetite control. I think it worth to try Rybelsus if Ozempic is not satisfactory effective.
