    I have heard stories of people with anorexia being helped by a lower carb/“no carb” diet. They eat more and notice they don’t really gain weight and then therefore get the nutrients their bodies need.

    I noticed keto helping with depression after I had my son. When pregnant I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes. I was on a restrictive diet. Once I had him I ate all the carbs. I got severely depressed. Existential crisis. I ended up switching my diet back to lower carb and felt a bit better. I’ve now switched to extreme low carb/carnivore. I feel good besides situational anxiety. I am interested in learning more and reading these studies.

      I eat fish/prawns every 5 days for essential omega 3's ,( on my Carnivore diet) .Omega 3's help with mood . More Fats also help mood /anxiety.

      @@kenadams5504 yeah my anxiety is directly caused from something I can not change in my environment. I eat fish regularly also in my way of eating. Not so much shrimp though.

    Great but how to stop when addicted?

    • @kenadams5504
      @kenadams5504 Год назад +7

      One way to beat food addiction is something called a Carnivore diet. I like to eat a lot and can do so with Carnivore , while eliminating addictive Carbohydrates. It involves eating meat from animals like beef/ lamb/ bacon/chicken/fish/eggs/butter . I eat about 2lbs per day (grilled or fried in coconut oil). These foods dampen cravings that high carb foods induce , and allow blood glucose and elevated insulin to lessen .

      I found high fat at first was very helpful
      I was thoroughly satiated so hardly any desire for anything else
      I ate 6T butter daily
      Fatty meats
      Whole eggs (4-5 a day)
      Cheese!
      Chilled meat drippings

      Love hearing this! Same exact illness. Bipolar 2, with deep and long depression… only diagnosed in 2023 at age 37.
      Got myself out with strict keto and fasting. Felt 100% then went back to SAD. Fine for 7 months (definitely hypomania looking back) skipping back to depression in December and now back to ketovore forever!

    Dr Ede,
    If a person is losing weight and releasing a lot of omega 6 fats from the fat stores,is the pro inflammatory status that one assumes prevails an issue ? and if it is,can one do something to mitigate the negative consequences.
    Many thanks.
